Love the doctors, customer service staff are usually nice but sadly it's always the bad experiences that ruin it all. When someone is sick and not feeling good they don't want to be talked to in a rude way or cut off while trying to explain what's going on that would help with context clues as to what information is being misunderstood. read more

I called ahead to confirm whether they could help with my issue, and I was told they could. After arriving and spending just five minutes with the doctor, I was told there was nothing they could do and was referred elsewhere--yet I'm being billed $245 for the visit. For the past 3 years this location has seriously dropped. I can't even see my primary care physician. They're more apt to just give you a new medication and send you along your way. Or take x-rays for your insurance company to pay more money out. I distinctly feel like I've been used for my insurance because every time I've gone in there they've always said Mr Wheeler we need a new x-ray. This past Monday 7/10/23 I got a call from Miranda doctor suggesting that I come in for a follow up to fill in some of the blanks that were in my files. The appointment was made for yesterday at 2:30 in the afternoon that will be the last time I ever stepped foot in this clinic I'll be finding a new doctor from here on out. Dr champ made very insulting comments to me about my weight which I'm sorry I've been dealing with an injury that causes me not to be able to do things that I used to do this is supposed to be Dr patient confidentiality but he physically used the words morbidly obese and saying that I'm going to die sooner than later if I don't straighten up my diet. These are issues that I know about and for you to point Blank insult me and belittle me is not right. I was placed with his doctor because they wanted to fill in paperwork really they just wanted to try to charge me more money from my ins. I will make sure that I tell every single person I know to stay away from ARC from here on out because ARC is a bunch of crooked individuals that are just out there to collect insurance money The people that work at the establishment are the worst. They used to be good, but now they are horrible. It took over 3 months this year to get an appointment with my primary care physician and any specialist and even when I did get in they couldn't figure anything out. My nutritionist I had to pay out of pocket was better at fixing my issues. They charge double copays for the same procedures. They send things to out-of-network labs & expect you to just pay hundreds of extra dollars they don't tell you could even be a possibility. I'm being billed over $300 for labs the customer service person said would have only been $72 if they had told me and billed me at the time. And this is for labs the doctor said were better & that they never even gave me the results on. When I wrote to customer service it took over 3 months to even get an answer back & all they said was that they refuse to do anything to help fix it. I'm getting charged for services my insurance benefits summary says are supposed to be no charge. It feels like death by a thousand cuts. Austin Regional Clinic doesn't care & they just make things worse. The stress from all the unexpected bills makes all my conditions worse. Save yourself the stress & find somewhere that cares & is transparent with what things will really cost. read more

If you want to be just a number, wait on hold and not get a hold of the doctor. Come here for your primary care where you'll get no primary care. If you especially like to be ignored by your doctor, talked over, not listened to and when you're homesick call multiple times for two days requesting cough syrup after a visit in addition to having nurses trying to get a hold of the doctor to approve it then may I suggest seeing Karen J Romero, DO so she can ignore everything you say, and be rude and unhelpful. Dr., nurses and specialists dr are amazing but this place get a failing grade because your entire front staff seems miserable. No one smiles or greets you. Dr. Ambler and Dr.Champ are great. They understood what I needed and provided the prescription. It is often difficult to get through to make sure the insurance pays. Dr.Champ did notice i didnt require a higher increment and appreciate his professionalism. Id recommend seeing him if you have too much salt in your medication and want to prevent diabetes with Zepbound (Moundjarno). Doctors Admitting anti OCD prescriptions do cause weight gain was a ginormous improvement, taking Mounjarno takes your blood sugar way back to normal, and also decreases appetite! I really appreciate the truth and the problem solving. read more

I've been going to Austin regional clinic for years when I lived in Austin. I moved to Kyle and I started going to the Plum Creek office. It is a great professional office over at Plum Creek in Kyle, I highly recommend Dr. Amidi's. He's listens to you and takes his time to listen to you. He's the only doctor that washes his hands before he sees you. I highly recommend ARC for your medical needs. read more

Our pediatrician is awesome but wow the check in desk is surly and rude and so was our pediatric nurse. It's unbelievable how angry, rude and just cold they are. Not sure if there is a challenge finding good providers but they clearly need better training in basic care. Really sad because we love Dr Busceme but her nurse was just wow. read more

if I could give zero stars I would. they messed up a very important appointment for me scheduled over a month ago. when they told me the next availablity was over another month away, I kindly asked to just remove me from the schedule completely and I guess that somehow offended the phone representative and she just said "thank you" and hung up on me with no confirmation or anything that I'm off the books. when I called back to get confirmation of my cancelation, I got put on hold for 10+ min. They got me right in for my 10:30 appointment. Parking is easy and so is check in. Sometimes I do wish the doctors have a little bit more time but I know that the pressure keep so many patients on time is more each day. I have arthritis in my knee and some other minor issues that aren't hypercritical but it's definitely good to have insight. read more

I've had it. This is the final straw. I put in a refill request with my PCP for a very necessary medication (which I have been taking for 9 years) one whole week before I was due to run out. Well, the doctor wouldn't answer, so my pharmacy and I kept calling ARC daily. Each time I spoke with an operator (after being on hold for a ridiculous amount of time and missing work), they told me that the refill request had been put in with the doctor and they were just waiting for her to sign it. Down to the last pill, I was desperate and frantic. I called ARC yet again, and the operator told me that I needed to make an appointment to have that medicine refilled. Are you kidding me? Why couldn't they have told me that a week prior, when I wasn't completely out of meds? Why couldn't they take the initiative and call me back and inform me that a visit was required, instead of letting me come dangerously close to withdrawal? These people do not give 2 craps about you, or your health. The employees who answer phones DESPERATELY need to be trained, as this is NOT the first time they have given me critically conflicting information. (which would be too much to write in a single review) I have seen several doctors at ARC and their diagnoses are typically WRONG. When I finally am able to get in with a specialist, they indeed confirm my suspicion that the doctors here have no idea what they are talking about. I only go here due to convenience of the location and short waiting times, but I will never again make the dangerous mistake of trusting these people with my health. read more

The problem with Austin Regional Clinic is that they overbook. You don't end up knowing anyone including your own doctor because you can never get in with your doctor. If you go to another doctor they act like you should be seeing your primary care physician, but you can't get in with them so you have to see someone else. It's just terrible. The pediatricians are generally nice but I can never see the same one for any of my kids. The lines are long, you can't get anyone on the phone and it's just very impersonal there. I think this is a national problem as far as healthcare goes, but Austin Regional Clinic is no different. read more

Allergy season is back. Visited Dr.Chen earlier today with concerns regarding the fever. I was really happy to hear that none of my symptoms are related to coronavirus, but it is 100% allergy. This review is solely for the lab and if I could give zero stars I would. The lab had a tech practice on my 1 year old son. While my baby was screaming and crying (and I was told to hold him down), the tech messed up and couldn't get his blood. By the time they brought in someone else, the tech had already cut two of his fingers. They were going to prick a third finger, when I finally said we needed to stop because my son was splotchy and unable to breathe properly because he was so upset. This should not happen. Now the test is inconclusive -even though there was lots of blood the tech didn't get into the vial. read more

The doctors/nurses that I have seen here are all wonderful and informative. The front desk personnel (check-in) are rude and abrasive. Today marks the second year in a row that I've gone in for my physical and was spoken to in a rude manner or treated poorly. My doctor called in sick (bless his heart) and I get a call at 7:05 am stating so. I was pulling Into my parking space and went inside. The lady was rude stating things such as "things happen" and "oh well". I'm sure she didn't even recognize she was being that way. However when u r the first face and voice someone sees and hears upon arrival u shld probably rethink ur attitude. But the. Again she probably did realize it because she sent another lady to tell me no other doctor could see me today due to heavy schedules. Last yr the clinic supervisor or nursing supervisor spoke to me about the rudeness I encountered....so here I am again about to speak to the supervisor. Again the doctors and nurses are GREAT. The front desk staff are horrible and have bad attitudes. I would only give a 2 1/2 star review if I could. All parts must work together and the front desk staff is horrible here. read more

I came here because I needed some shots before I start school in January. These shots I need weren't the good kind that most college kids love. Those good college shots will be for another review at some bar downtown. :) I need specific shots, titers, etc to meet my program requirement. Anyway, I was able to get a next day appointment which is always impressive which I got by calling ARC. ARC also has the ability to provide same day appointments and you can also book your appointments online. The doctor I saw was really nice and went over my records to see what all I needed to get. I had to get one shot since it I was due. The nurse did the shot and made it easy and almost painless. The doctor did give me the option on one of them since it wasn't clear if my last titer would make the cut. We decided not to do but my packet got rejected on my end. No big deal really since honestly it could of went either way. This just means I have to go in to get a titer drawn. read more

I went to ARC after experiencing a pretty hard dog bite while paddle boarding on townlake. The initial care seemed fine though the nurse never washed my bite. She weighed me, took my temperature, checked my vitals. Then eventually provided a cleanser so I could clean my hand. The doctor was fine and efficient and was concerned about infection from the lake water. (Also my concern). They then sent an electronic subscription to a closed pharmacy. For the next two hours I was on the phone trying to get the prescription sent to an open pharmacy. After a two hour effort they again sent the prescription to a closed pharmacy. I finally found unused antibiotics at my house. I never was able to get their prescription. 30 seconds of verification on their part could have saved me hours of effort. Then they did it all over again. Ridiculous! read more

ARC has become a trainwreck, and after 20 years with them I'm done. Primary Care Doctors who aren't available for months, so you're shuffled to whoever is taking appointments and you have to start from scratch because they don't read your records. Mis-diagnoses, wrong medications, wrong dosages prescribed, 30 minute waits on the phone, nurses who say they will call back and never do, overbilling, incorrect billing, referrals to specialists who are booked out for months, doctors who say they will order certain tests and then don't. Docs who say they are prescribing certain medications, but never call them in. Doctors who are rude and dismissive if you wear a mask. Constant reminders and texts to come in an get a Shingles vaccine when they did a test showing I've never had chicken pox, so I don't need one. It's all about the money at ARC, and they don't give a hoot about your health. It's a shame - they used to be great providers but have become totally incompetent. Goodbye, ARC! read more

Dismal experience at weekend after-hours, that left me feeling like I wasted my time and money for nothing. In retrospect, I realize now that my apt was late in the afternoon, but ARC, how bout don't offer apts to patients that you aren't able to give top service to. Due to the state of our health care system, people like me make the difficult choice to contact clinics only when they are in situations of extreme discomfort. I was hoping to get relief for a chronic condition through this medical facililty that is routinely provided 3-4 times annually at my specialist, and was shocked when the provider refused to admin the remedy. Additionally, she did not ask clarifying questions, or discuss risks based on my nonvulnerable group demographic. Individuals with chronic conditions often downplay their symptoms because we learn to live with what others would find excruciating as our norm. There has be a level of trust between the doctor and patient and I do not feel like my knowledge of my condition and treatment history was given enough time to be taken seriously. I am a reasonable person who wanted to trust that upon being seen today by the doctor, they could recommend something else. But all they would offer is what I already had and kept repeating wasn't helping. I understand not wanting to take risks with as a medical provider, but not providing alternative options for previously untried medicines or any further education only erodes patient: docter trust. People like me who can barely justify the added expense of copays, unless absolutely necessary, will just stop coming. If you couldn't help me then, how can I trust you will in the future? Adding further insult to injury, the facility itself is gross. The waiting area itself had dirty germ masks strewn about, and I get it "weekend skeleton crew," but it was not in "ARC standard" shape. Longish wait times, hurried time with physicians, felt rushed and that the dr I saw today lacked experience to consider anything a specialist would have purview of, didn't take the time to consult other physicians or the internet or really listen to me as a patient. I'm not sure where to go now since I always felt like ARC was the real doctor. I have had other ok experiences here, but today was so disappointing I will hesitate to return. TLDR- Depending on what insurance covers, I will probably have wasted $65 for the premium of coming to a weekend after-hours facility with zero new care remedy to show for it and will still need to see my specialist (which they didn't offer to refer me to) for another $50. This is one of those adulting lessons that really makes the already painful reality of living with a painful chronic condition worse. Honestly before scheduling me today they should have been just up front that hey, this will just be a waste of time, see your specialist. read more

I've been a patient at ARC since 2008. Dr Kapadia is my GP, and OB/GYN, and is a wonderful doctor. She's given me excellent care over the years, and is pretty chic and stylish for an MD - her cute-yet-sensible shoes are an inspiration to me and brighten doctor's visits. And her waiting room has very cool modern dance photos! If I'm ever sick and need an appointment when Dr K is out or working in another location, every doctor I've seen at ARC has been just as excellent as she is. I also like using ARC's online booking system and communicating with them via the internet. My health is good, thanks to regular checkups and the care I get at ARC! read more

To get a certain option the wife is interested in you have to call on the first day of her cycle to set up an appointment. It has to be in the first three days that you get said form of protection. My wife called first thing that morning only to be directed to a voicemail. Several calls that day, next day, with every associate telling my wife that ONLY this one employee could schedule that form of birth control. Well, this months window has came and gone. You want me to wrap it? PFFFTTTT! What kind of medical establishment doesn't cross train several staffers in the event of sickness or vacation? Am I to arrive at the emergency room shot in the leg only to find out Dr. Bob is the only guy who does gun shot wounds, but he's off till next Wednesday. After discovering an unfortunate issue, I had originally booked an appointment to visit with my doctor tomorrow morning. After a couple of hours, things were heading in the wrong direction and called ARC to see if I could get in sooner and was referred to their after hours clinic near the house. We arrived a little early and booked in with the receptionist. She was polite and took all my information, co-payment and was directed to the waiting area. A nurse came by and took the wife and I to our examination room and completed the some more information. Dr. Ted Smith came in promptly and quickly diagnosed my issue and referred me to a specialist. He had a great bed side manner, explained to me what had happened, that it wasn't uncommon and he would refer me to a specialist. We had a nice rapport during my visit and was very pleased with all the staff. When he came back in the room, Suzie had joined me and he took time to explain everything to her. Very nice to know that this clinic is just down the road from us and will be using them if need be in the future. read more

Update: made an early morning appointment for an allergy shot but they neglected to tell me that I first needed to make an appointment with one of their allergists...so I got up super early on my first day of vacation for nothing :( First visit: Had a decent experience here. Waited half an hour for the doctor. The lab is open late which was nice. read more
