After some interactions through text, a picture of what I wanted, and instructions that I wanted a 1" trim from the bottom length and a relayer, I scheduled my appointment a few days later. This spot is VERY Chinese. Lots of banter in the language but I liked the energy it gave. A little bit of a language barrier but I tried to keep it short and brief, and we "communicated" through photos of what I wanted, and what he could do. Almost all the chairs were full. I brought my son with me and everyone was nice to him (-: He was able to sit on a chair and wait for me while I had my hair done. Ming gave me exactly what I wanted. Basically a refresh. They were able to shampoo and rinse my hair, I was put in the chair, Ming and I had an exchange, and he went to work with precision and expertise. QUICKLY may I add.. I found my local salon. I kept explaining what I wanted, but the stylist kept telling me that he was giving me layers when the result clearly did not look like the layered style I showed him. It felt more like a bang trim with my hair cut shorter. I was also very uncomfortable because the stylist had a very strong cigarette/smoke smell on his breath during the service, which made the experience unpleasant. If the stylist couldn't achieve the style I requested, I would have preferred him to be honest and explain that before cutting my hair shorter. All I asked for was a simple trim, as I had been growing out my hair for 16 months--which I explicitly mentioned--along with light layering. I even showed a reference picture to clarify how minimal I wanted the layers to be. Unfortunately, she ended up chopping off more than half my length, creating an extreme difference between the layers. The back was cut so short that it keeps falling forward, and I can't even use my hair claws anymore. Shockingly, the back ended up even shorter than my bangs. I never wanted my hair this short after 16 months of patient growth. I trusted her, and because of this cut, I had to spend over $1,000 on hair extensions just to fix it. I deeply regret not asking for a refund for this haircut or requesting reimbursement for the extension costs I had to incur to fix her mistake. I usually avoid leaving negative reviews to support local businesses, but this was honestly the worst experience I've ever had with any stylist. Even after two weeks, I still get upset every time I look in the mirror. While hair eventually grows back, there's no restoring the 16 months of effort I lost. I tried to blame myself, thinking I should have been even more specific, but showing a clear reference photo should have been enough. A professional stylist should have known that my hair type wouldn't work with this short length without a perm. It ended up looking like a giant mushroom and is far too short to style. I tried to let it go, but the frustration and disappointment remain. In the end, she offered me a free haircut for next time after my hair grows back. But how could I ever trust her with my hair again after this? Besides, since my hair is now even shorter than before I spent 16 months growing it, how long will it take before I even need another haircut? 2 years? 3 years? A free haircut is completely meaningless and does not make up for what happened. Compensation for this terrible mistake should be a full refund and coverage for the hair extension costs I had to pay to fix her mistake. This isn't just about a bad haircut or the lost growth; it's about the hours of my time that were completely wasted. I had to spend time finding a proper extension salon, traveling to and from the appointment, and sitting through the hours-long service. I deserve to be compensated for all of that lost time. I trusted her because glory hair had 4.2 star reviews, but... this is what I am still facing every single day. Please be cautious if you are planning to get a haircut from Jessie unless you want to ruin your next 2 years.

For reference, I've always had to wash my hair daily because it's always getting so oily. So she's given me tips on how to prevent it. And after 6 months of following tips, and seeing what works for me, my hair is fuller, healthier, and thriving as I've mentioned.
