After some interactions through text, a picture of what I wanted, and instructions that I wanted a 1" trim from the bottom length and a relayer, I scheduled my appointment a few days later. This spot is VERY Chinese. Lots of banter in the language but I liked the energy it gave. A little bit of a language barrier but I tried to keep it short and brief, and we "communicated" through photos of what I wanted, and what he could do. Almost all the chairs were full. I brought my son with me and everyone was nice to him (-: He was able to sit on a chair and wait for me while I had my hair done. Ming gave me exactly what I wanted. Basically a refresh. They were able to shampoo and rinse my hair, I was put in the chair, Ming and I had an exchange, and he went to work with precision and expertise. QUICKLY may I add.. I found my local salon. I wanted to try out a u-shape with very few layers so my hair can retain the volume. The u-shape turned out a bit more v-shaped but it still looked good. Only thing I would say is that I wish they used heat protectant on my hair before straightening it, since my hair is already very damaged from bleaching in the past. I came in for a touch-up on my roots and I had blonde highlights, but they're pretty copper-brown now and the top of my hair looks like chunks of highlights. Thankfully, it's not as bad from the side, but I part my hair in the middle so it's all I can focus on. I tend to go to places based on personal recommendations, so I'm sad to say this will be my last time here. I will say, as I waited, I saw three young boys get their hair done; it seems like kids' cuts were $15 and they all looked good. However, for the $150 I spent, I would rather have spent a little more somewhere else to ensure I left feeling good about it. After about 6 months after my first haircut with her, and the tips she's provided, my hair is low key thriving! Let's start off with location... She's located downtown Hayward off B Street. Although, parking kinda sucks, and it is the Main Street with so many cars, her place is so cute! Inside her place, there plenty of seating, and a lot of chairs available. For the most part, whenever I go see her, I'm probably the only other client inside - just incase you guys get nervous for Covid reasons. Nancy is so welcoming. She starts off asking you what you want to do with your hair, and she observes and starts framing your face to see if you would like it and gives out suggestions as needed. Then she washes your hair, and then she begins the cut. She's so knowledgable in the industry. She given me helpful advice on how to maintain my hair. For reference, I've always had to wash my hair daily because it's always getting so oily. So she's given me tips on how to prevent it. And after 6 months of following tips, and seeing what works for me, my hair is fuller, healthier, and thriving as I've mentioned. When I reached out she asked me what I wanted to do and was able to give me pricing and a breakdown of everything from the beginning. Her transparency made the booking process really simple and I was so comfortable. I received a cal invite and text message that my appointment was coming up. While small, this still left a great impression Stylist Lulu was absolutely amazing and wonderful. I had ALOT of trauma with my hair. I expressed this to Lulu during my booking and she was extremely kind--especially with my almost cold feet. As she worked on my hair she walked me through each and every step. I love how she takes such great care of my hair, making sure it's healthy and vibrant every time I leave the salon.
