After some interactions through text, a picture of what I wanted, and instructions that I wanted a 1" trim from the bottom length and a relayer, I scheduled my appointment a few days later. This spot is VERY Chinese. Lots of banter in the language but I liked the energy it gave. A little bit of a language barrier but I tried to keep it short and brief, and we "communicated" through photos of what I wanted, and what he could do. Almost all the chairs were full. I brought my son with me and everyone was nice to him (-: He was able to sit on a chair and wait for me while I had my hair done. Ming gave me exactly what I wanted. Basically a refresh. They were able to shampoo and rinse my hair, I was put in the chair, Ming and I had an exchange, and he went to work with precision and expertise. QUICKLY may I add.. I found my local salon. I showed him a pic of what I wanted and he also gave me his professional advice since my hair is very thin and sparse. I wanted to try out a u-shape with very few layers so my hair can retain the volume. The u-shape turned out a bit more v-shaped but it still looked good. Only thing I would say is that I wish they used heat protectant on my hair before straightening it, since my hair is already very damaged from bleaching in the past. I came in for a touch-up on my roots and I had blonde highlights, but they're pretty copper-brown now and the top of my hair looks like chunks of highlights. Thankfully, it's not as bad from the side, but I part my hair in the middle so it's all I can focus on. I tend to go to places based on personal recommendations, so I'm sad to say this will be my last time here. I will say, as I waited, I saw three young boys get their hair done; it seems like kids' cuts were $15 and they all looked good. However, for the $150 I spent, I would rather have spent a little more somewhere else to ensure I left feeling good about it. It was hard to tell in my chair and my booking was towards the end of the day; after about 3.5 hours, I didn't check it all there, otherwise I would have mentioned something in person.

The reason I've come back to write this review is because of the frustration I experienced last year-ish when I wanted to make an appointment to see her for my hair again. You can't make appointments with Julie online- you have to contact the salon directly via email or text. I reached out at least twice and both times received no response. I was a long time client at this salon and it felt like that didn't matter at all. While small, this still left a great impression Stylist Lulu was absolutely amazing and wonderful. I had ALOT of trauma with my hair. I expressed this to Lulu during my booking and she was extremely kind--especially with my almost cold feet. As she worked on my hair she walked me through each and every step. When it came to cutting she let me see and feel where she'd be cutting and didn't deviate from the plan. When the coloring began she patiently explained what she was doing, and checked in on how far up the color would go, etc. She was professional and experienced and had great command of her trade. She was easy going and fun to talk to and It made the experience that much better. Results My cut and color came out BEAUTIFULLY!! I've gotten so many compliments. Seriously, Lulu is so great!! Shop The shop was easy to get to with parking available. We started exactly on time and finished in the estimated time frame. All of the equipment used were clean and up to date. The station was neatly organized and the room itself was styled beautifully. The area was well lit and the chairs were actually comfortable! All in all, I had a wonderful time and went back again for touch ups. After 10 years of searching, I've finally found a salon--and stylist--that I can call "home" to. The ladies were very nice and the person who cut my hair happened to speak cantonese so she gave me good tips on haircare and told me that my hair is so wavy that it won't stay straight despite her straightening several times. After about 6 months after my first haircut with her, and the tips she's provided, my hair is low key thriving! Let's start off with location... She's located downtown Hayward off B Street. Although, parking kinda sucks, and it is the Main Street with so many cars, her place is so cute! Inside her place, there plenty of seating, and a lot of chairs available. For the most part, whenever I go see her, I'm probably the only other client inside - just incase you guys get nervous for Covid reasons. Nancy is so welcoming. She starts off asking you what you want to do with your hair, and she observes and starts framing your face to see if you would like it and gives out suggestions as needed. Then she washes your hair, and then she begins the cut. She's so knowledgable in the industry. She given me helpful advice on how to maintain my hair. For reference, I've always had to wash my hair daily because it's always getting so oily. So she's given me tips on how to prevent it. And after 6 months of following tips, and seeing what works for me, my hair is fuller, healthier, and thriving as I've mentioned. She also sells products in house just in case you want to obtain professional items. I highly recommend her. You won't regret it.
