The therapists are incredibly intuitive, adjusting the pressure and technique to exactly what I need. I always leave feeling completely relaxed and refreshed--my complexion even seems to glow afterward! Something to note is that this is a traditional Thai/combination massage, so it includes stepping, compression, kneading, and stretching rather than the long, fluid strokes of something like a Swedish massage. I am very disappointed in my first time experience at this place. I asked for a 30 minute shoulder massage the massage was done poorly. I felt like my boyfriend does better when I ask him she didn't hit any points that needed attention. She just lost and glazed over everything. She charged me $45 and told me that a one hour massage would be $65 which made no sense I will not be going back to this place. I recently moved back to Claremont, and was really looking forward to finding my new "home" for Thai massage. Unfortunately, what I experienced yesterday on my first visit to Mint Leaf doesn't leave me wanting to come back. While my therapist was kind, it seems he was left on his own (with perhaps one other person), and appeared very harried. I arrived a few minutes early and the door was locked, tried calling and nobody answered. Ten minutes passed, the massage now late, and another confused first-time client arrived to wait with me. The door was finally opened by the poor harried therapist, who then gave us paperwork to fill out (this should have been encouraged before the start time of the massage). I was then sent to the bathroom to put on a very confusing and tattered set of clothes (??), leaving my underthings on I guessed?, then went into the massage room to find there isn't even a face cradle; there was a sort of rolled up dish towel, but I spent most of the time on my stomach trying to breathe. I also believe that, especially given the logistics of a good Thai massage, each (female) client should be asked if she is ok with a male therapist. My 90 minute massage was late, short, stressful, and I probably left feeling tenser than when I arrived. No part of this felt like "self-care." I tipped my therapist well and didn't say anything negative aside from asking if he were the owner, but as he wasn't, I just checked out and left. It's been a rough couple of weeks and I was really looking forward to finding a great Thai massage place in town, but this one left me emotional and missing my old place. Visited this establishment for the first time today. I never had a Thai massage before. The establishment was very clean and presentable. They give you clothes and little slippers to change into. They have you fill out a piece of paper to say where you want massage and where you don't. This was not followed whatsoever. Nora were the pressure guidelines. I did enjoy the "massage" I felt like it was more pressing and pulling than an actual massage. I would definitely try a different Thai place. I wanted my knots to be worked out more than they were. I called last night to use a gift certificate from November 2023 for a 1-hour massage, which I was unaware had an expiration date of 6 months (I should have looked at the fine print at the bottom of the certificate when the purchaser gifted me with it), but the owner was very understanding and allowed me to use it today. The owner is a very nice woman. FYI to anyone using a gift card, if you believe that you won't be able to use your gift card before it's 6 month expiration period, just make sure to CALL AHEAD OF TIME (before 6 months) and let the owner know, as well as bring the gift card in with you because they don't keep records of gift cards beyond certain dates. read more

You'll then go into one of the cozy cabanas with your massage therapist and experience a custom massage that you fill out on a form when you arrive. I was never one for massages but as an athlete in my 30s, they are now integral and this is the only place I need. Pricing is fair $65 for 60 min or you can upgrade to 90 min. I always try to tip nicely because they really press into my stress zones, loosen my tight shoulders, and even give my hamstrings a deep stretch. I was in so much pain and saw the great reviews for mint leaf so I called and asked for an appointment for a deep tissue massage and drove from Chino to get there. The masseuse they assigned to me was the tiniest elderly woman you could imagine. I'm 5'2 and she was way smaller than me. Even when she walked on my back, it felt like nothing. I asked her to massage harder and she tried for a second, but I felt her hands begin to shake and then she went back to doing a light massage. I felt bad for her so I didn't ask her again to go harder. I left mint leaf still in pain and with less money in my pocket. I wouldn't have written a review, but the fact that I asked for deep tissue on the phone and they gave me someone who was unable to do it, is what was unfair to me in my opinion. read more

I am amazed on how their knowledge and Thai method is capable of releasing the tension build up with a combination of yoga type stretching and massaging the area. It's my first time getting a Thai massage. Their massages are fairly priced. $60 for an hour of full body massage. $80 for 90 mins. They have you fill out a questionnaire and the pressure intensity you would like. I picked medium intensity. Everything was great until the masseuse massaged my lower back. It was extremely painful. I went here for my birthday and it was the worst experience I have had with a local business. The person giving the massage was completely inept. It was less of a relaxing massage that targeted the muscles and more like someone painfully kneading dough for 90 minutes, actually 50 minutes as I walked out when she started painfully pushing my knee in (hyperextending it). I would give the benefit of the doubt if I just had the misfortune of getting a bad masseuse. But when I complained, the women at the front tried to gas light me and asked if I had ever received a massage before, to which I answered, Yes I get a massage twice a month since my first shiatsu in 1991. The massage was great, but my experience with the front desk was so atrocious, I can't go above one star. My experience was the opposite of relaxing. My sister got me a certificate over the phone as a gift because she doesn't live in the area. She received a photo of the certificate via text and was told over the phone that I could show the photo and everything would be fine. I came in for my massage today, having let the folks know that I have a gift certificate. When I came up to the register, I thought maybe they had the physical card on file and I showed them the photo of the certificate, just like my sister was instructed I should do. The woman at the front desk accused me of trying to steal. So I called my sister and who pulled up the charge on her bank statement. She sent me a screenshot of the bank statement with the charge *matching the date of the certificate.* She still would not take it as proof of the purchase and had no way of verifying the certificate because "it was Sunday." She then threatened to CALL THE POLICE if I didn't pay. And I told her, "Go ahead, you're the ones that are actually stealing." She threatened to call the police several times. Eventually, my sister had to take time out of her day to get on a call with them, speak to this person, pull up the text thread, and text them everything THEIR OWN number had texted them. In short, these folks were happy to take my sister's money over the phone for a gift certificate *knowing* they don't have the policies and procedures in place to handle a non-physical gift card and wanted ME to bear the brunt of *their* inefficiencies. What was supposed to be a nice, relaxing experience gifted to me by my sister turned into a nightmare. This woman threatening to call the police was the last straw. I will never return. Part of me wonders if I had been an innocuous white woman, whether they would have threatened me in this way or accused me of trying to swindle them in the first place. Mint Leaf is one of my favorite Thai Massage places along with their sister location Ayodhya Thai down the street. Unlike some other places that conform to America massage tables, Mint Leaf and Ayodhya Thai have large spacious massage beds to optimally perform authentic Thai massage techniques. For only $45/hour they will twist and knead all of your discomforts away. Take off your shoes and change into their house slippers as you approach the back where the massage beds are. They will give you a loose outfit and redirect you to the bathroom to change. The loose outfit is designed so that they can easily massage around it and maneuver you without the clothes hindering the stretches and twists. If you have any concerning areas, I recommend telling them before hand so they spend more time on those spots. They usually start face up and work on the feet, head, face and arms before they flip you over and spend the majority of the time on the shoulders and back. There are bars on the ceiling for them to concentrate their weight distribution while stepping on you during some parts of the massage. My favorite part of the Thai Massage is definitely at the end when they twist you. It feels amazing!! I have had so many massages from so many places, but Thai massages are by far my favorite. When my mom has aches, I take her here also. It is by far the most relaxing solution. Ask for Sunny -- she is the best!! She was telling me how I twisted and stretched really well. So this was actually my very first time getting a professional massage. You definitely get what you pay for. There's no rush and the man I had worked on every part of my body. I want to preface the next part by saying I do have very sensitive skin. I chose gentle pressure on the waiver. I definitely have some soreness and bruising. However, I'm not sure if it was due to the roughness or just my skin. Also, I do wish they would ask what gender masseuse you'd prefer. I have been going to Mint Leaf for over 10 years and they are the best masseuse group I have ever had. I like using whoever is available so that I can experience the different styles. Of course when I need something fixed (like if my back is locked or I can't move my arm) my go to is Yam! He is amazing and always takes care of any problems I have. You don't get much better for the price and service. During Covid I have been going to their Ayodhya Thai Holistic Therapy location in Pomona. You can go and simply enjoy the serenity of the quiet space or you can get an outdoor massage in their beautiful garden. Very private and the whole Mint Leaf crew can be found at this location which is great. I have been to a lot of different massage therapy spas, but I always go back to this location.
