Mint Julep Bar, nestled right to the side of Tiana's Palace and Haunted Mansion, is known for mainly two things: the New Orleans mint julep, and Mickey-shaped beignets. Because it's hidden, sometimes there is no wait. However, it's still best to do mobile order and pick up, just in case. While the prices have steadily increased over the years, I'd honestly say they're no different than the price of modern donuts these days. The beignets and mint julep have a very consistent recipe (though they've upgraded to better ingredients within the past decade): hot, airy, fresh bites of fried soft dough with powdered sugar, and a refreshing mint drink. I will admit that this has a greater rating simply because it's enjoyed at Disneyland. Part of the magic is the powdered sugar flying everywhere as you attempt to eat them without mess, as it can't be helped. If you're lucky, there will be an additional seasonal beignet flavor (I think they used to do this more frequently, but I've only seen one flavor the last times I've visited). The seasonal flavor will usually just be an artificial flavor related to the season or popular event - mainly worth a curiosity or aesthetic try. Just like the original powdered sugar, they'll come piping hot, pillowy soft, and a bit hollow - just how I like it so it's not too filling. In terms of drinks at Disney, most of them are pretty sweet. The mint julep comes off as more refreshing due to the mint and citrus, which is why it's one of my favorites. While it really is simply sugar water with mint syrup and lime and lemonade, it just feels right getting it. I typically dislike desserts and sweet things, but this combination is very enjoyable whenever I'm in Disneyland. read more

When in Disneyland, be sure to make time to order and enjoy some Mickey Mouse beignets. They are served piping hot, fresh and just so delicious. We mobile ordered so we could continue to enjoy our time in the park but as soon as we received the notification they were ready, we made a beeline through the crowds to pick it up. The beignets are not New Orleans quality but they are light and fluffy with that tasty powdered sugar. Taking time out from a busy day at Disneyland to eat these sweet treats was a delight! read more

The Mint Julep Bar is such a cute beignet stand in New Orleans Square! I I grew up in Houston, Texas, and went to New Orleans, Louisiana a number of times. Unfortunately, these beignets really didn't cut it - they were just breads blobs sitting on top of a layer of powdered sugar in the bottom of the bag. We tried shaking the bag and the powdered sugar didn't really stick. The flavor and texture of the beignets was off and the shape was pretty distorted so it looked more like a 'hang loose' sign than a Mickey Mouse head. The Julep tasted pretty good and minty at first sip but the second sip on tasted really synthetic and chemical-like to me. I ended up tossing the whole thing. I think there are way better drinks like the Yuzu Lemonade at Harbor Galley close by. read more

My wife and I love the beignets so we had to hit the Mint Julep Bar. It used to be called Cafe Du Monde. You order from the cashier first and them they give you the order from the window. They have 3 and 6 pack . The beignets are shape like Mickey and covered in powder sugar. I think they changed the recipe since it was really chewy this time. Not as fluffy. We really didn't like them at all this time. Very disappointing. At least the line wasn't long so we didn't wait too long for being disappointed. read more

Tried the beignets at Mint Julep Bar and they definitely lived up to the hype. They come out hot and fresh, covered in a generous amount of powdered sugar--so be ready to get a little messy. The texture was perfect: crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. Not too heavy either, which makes it way too easy to finish the whole batch. Order on mobile, the wait was not that bad and it's a nice spot to just take a break and snack while walking around New Orleans Square. If you're at Disneyland, this is an easy must-try snack. I'd definitely get them again. read more

First time going to Mint Julep Bar in Disneyland to try the beignet's. The line was super long and I had to return for a ride so I ordered on the app which was over an hour. For my 1st time tasting them I think they are just powered dough! Tasty but I don't honestly see your hype. This was my go to for Beignets for years, but now, not so much. We were so excited to get them, we haven't been to Disneyland for at least 5 years. We missed the warm powered sugared, soft, and fluffy pastry. It was such a disappointment. The Mickey shaped beignets were not looking like Mickey shape. They tasted bland and there was not fluffiness to the pastry. It was awful. We should have returned them, but we didn't want to wait in the line again. We did not finish them and threw them away. Mickey shaped beignets! It was my first time having a beignet at Disneyland. I have been missing out all for so many years! I placed a mobile order on the app. Would highly recommend as the line to order in person might be long. I went to the pick up window for my order (you will get a notification on the app when it is ready). I ordered the 3 piece. The beignets were hot, fluffy, soft, light and airy. A bit hollow. It was really good though. Eating this will get messy so definitely have some napkins ready! I read that some people were saying the beignets from Downtown Disney are better but to me, I think both are good in their own ways. read more

mint julep is so popular at the parks that sometimes it's hard to schedule a good pick up time through the disneyland app to preorder. waiting in line is not bad at all but just prefacing the lines do get long. the wait for the actual items is actually very quick and everything is made fresh! the mickey mouse beignets are def lighter and less dense than the beignets at tiana's palace. definitely shake the bag of beignets before eating so that each beignets will be coated generously with the powdered sugar! the mint julep drink was great and not too sweet which is what i had an issue with with most drinks in the park. the mint julep was super refreshing! it's nice to know they have seasonal juleps which is definitely what i would go for if i were visiting during a holiday season! highly recommend! read more

Mickey beignets fresh!! Do I need to say more. The lines though is always long so you're best option is to use mobile ordering! They do offer different flavors throughout the year. My favorites are the peppermint ones during Holiday time. Otherwise, I just prefer the regular ones. Always a treat to get! read more

My friends had been dying to try the famous Mickey-shaped beignets at Mint Julep Bar after hearing all the positive feedback, so we decided to check it out. We saw a long line, and you know what they say... long lines = good food, right? Well, I have mixed feelings about the experience. The beignets were decent, but I'm still not sure I get what all the fuss is about. First off, they were soft and pillowy, which I liked. When you bite into a good beignet, you expect a slightly crispy exterior with a light, airy inside, ike biting into a cloud. These were close to that, but they felt a bit hollow on the inside, which made them a bit disappointing. I'm not sure if it was just a bad batch, or maybe I'm just not as big a fan of beignets as I thought I would be, but I wouldn't rush to get them again. If you're planning on getting beignets here, I'd definitely recommend using mobile ordering, because otherwise, you're in for quite the wait. There's always a long line for these beignets. Overall, I'm glad I tried them, but I wouldn't call it a must-visit for me. Maybe I'll give it another go in the future, or try a different spot and see how their beignets compare. read more

Oh how I love beignets. I'd try them from anywhere that makes them and would have to compare them to Cafe Du Monde's. The Mint Julep Bar makes them good and they are worth trying for sure. Great snack in between getting on the rides. They are so good when they hot so eat them soon as you get them and don't forget to shake the bag to get all that powder sugar all over them. There could be a line to get them , just like everything else in Disney lol There are phone orders so that might be the way to go . They are shaped like Mickey so that was pretty cool. Go get ya some next time you're in the happiest place on Earth, and wash it down with their minty lemonade .. Again.. be prepared for the wait, there's always a wait here I'm assuming but it's not too bad and it's worth it. There is plenty of outdoor seating but ya gotta hustle to get a table. Ordering here is so easy through the Disneyland app. We just set a time for pick-up and it tells us when to show up. They have a dining area outside of Mint Julep Bar which is perfect for relaxing and enjoying your beignet. My hubby and I just got the traditional powdered sugar beignets and they were delicious! I love..love beignet. When we go to Disneyland we always get beignet. This comes in 3 pack or 6 pack. Our 2nd day, we tried the pineapple filling beignet and we really enjoyed that. The regular beignet was yum. We bought strawberry jam for dipping and was loving it!! The line moved really quickly. We didn't wait long for our beignet. I'm not drooling , YOU'RE drooling ! When in New Orleans Square , getting a Mickey beignet and mint julep is a must on my Disney bucket list. You can smell the delicious sweet fried dough delights in the air. No matter what time of day or season there will always be a line. I suggest that you just send one person to take orders and the ask them to help you after ordering with drinks. You can ask the servers for lids because they normally don't put them on, at least from experiences. They have seasonal drinks and treats and always the standard. The prices are usually okay , I wasn't shocked or anything like that. The area is very tight though , so it's very very crowded and near restrooms and getting on the Disneyland Railroad. You can enjoy your treats in line while waiting in line for the Haunted Mansion. read more

Have been here a few times now and the last time was the worst. I don't have many places in Disney that I return to often or keep in mind when I am in the area in the park. Mint Julep was one of them, or as I remembered the name as "that beignet window". The beignets used to be crispy and chewy with a nice coating of powdered sugar but this time, it was no better than a donut. The julep part of the winter special was just kinda a mixed juice with some popping boba in it. Expensive and with a severe decrease in quality, I am hopeful it will return to what it once was. read more

Omg, this place is a must if you are at Disneyland. The Mickey beignets are not only adorable but also delicious. They are light, fluffy, and perfectly shaped with just the right amount of sweetness. I could honestly eat them all day. Tucked next to one of the restaurants, you will usually find a long line to order and pick up, but it is completely worth the wait. The peppermint beignets were delicious. The peppermint flavor is just the right amount, and the dipping sauce was delicious. I wish they would heat up the dipping sauce, that would push this to a 10. This drink is so refreshing! After walking miles around the park this is the perfect location to sit in the shade and recharge yourself. I preferred the original flavor, instead of the seasonal offering this summer with the peaches. It was still good, but the original just hits the spot everytime. Even if there is a long line, it moves very quickly. And of course it was Disney level service. Kind, attentive and helpful. You can also order Mickey shaped beignets here, but honestly I was underwhelmed by them. They were more like a powered sugar donut. Kids love them but I would pass on them next time for myself. Tip: if you do get the beignets shake the bag before you tear it open. I made the mistake one time and some of the beignets were not perfectly coated. Dusting that sugar after is somewhat impossible. Also, get lots of napkins. Wetnaps would be ideal! read more

This is your stop for Mickey beignets. The lines can get pretty outrageous, so I suggest checking mobile order. On days where it's really busy the orders can fill up quickly and you'll have to wait several hours, so just be aware of that. They usually have the regular beignets as well as a seasonal flavor, while I've always liked the seasonal offerings, the originals can't be beat.! read more

Mint Julep Bar is a stand in New Orleans Square inside Disneyland. For years, I skipped over this spot and I was definitely missing out. I never knew what beignets were and how delicious they were. We stopped here for their Mickey-shaped Beignets and Mint Julep (non-alcoholic). This is probably my third time here in the last couple of years, as before that, I never stopped by this spot. I loved: New Orleans Mint Julep Cranberry Pomegranate Mint Julep I liked: Peppermint Beignets Beignets I love the Mint Julep bar! The drinks are incredibly tasty and as a person who doesn't like sour, I enjoy how the mint elevates the drink past a simple lemonade. I also enjoyed the Beignets but I'd get them from Downtown Disney instead, the chewiness and flavoring here isn't as good although it does come in a Mickey Mouse shape. There's not a ton of room to sit because the resturant is so busy but that goes for all of Disneyland. read more

If you are at Disneyland, there are no desserts that are more iconic than the churros and beignets. The churros can be found on carts all over the park, but beignets can only be had here and at Cafe Orleans (which requires advanced reservation). If you want to partake in the light, sugar coated doughnuts at the Julep bar, then here are my recommendations: 1) Mobile order your beignet order around the time you expect to complete your ride at Tiana's, Pirates of the Caribbean, or Haunted Mansion, so you won't have to be in a long line. 2) They will always have a seasonal flavor, but the original powdered sugar is always the best option. What to know about the seasonal flavors is that they're typically a flavored powdered sugar that coats your doughnut. In my last two visits, I had a banana beignet and a chocolate hazelnut beignet, but the flavored sugars could not beat a plain powdered sugar. 3) The doughnuts are light and fluffy, so go ahead and buy six to share with friends. Having the sweet treat with a coffee isn't a bad idea either. You deserve it! Lastly, If you are in the area and you want a beignet without the Disneyland reservation, then you could actually get a legit beignet at Downtown Disney at Beignets Expressed from the famous Brennan family of New Orleans. Though the beignets outside the park are different, the banana foster beignet is a sight to behold. One thing that the Julep bar has, however, is that the beignets in the park are Mickey Shaped. They also offer happy hour, aka Flocktail Hour, from 3 pm -5 pm and 9 pm-11 pm Mon-Thurs. The Parkside Market Coffee shop is a great spot to grab fresh breakfast items, lattes, coffees, and teas. It's one of my first stops on my way to the parks. The prices and variety are much better here than inside the park. They also offer seasonal and monthly items to keep you coming back for more. The two restaurants I have yet to try are Seoul Sister, which offers modern Korean cuisine and bowls, and GG Chicken Shop, made famous by award-winning chefs for chicken sandwiches, salads, and more. I've heard some good and bad things about the food here, as well as about the elevated prices, which have been a turnoff for me since they opened. I may try the food one day and share my thoughts. There's ample seating inside on the first and second floors, as well as nearby areas around DTD. The staff has been kind for the most part and has had no issues with the service or orders I've received. Magic Key holder discounts apply here, with the exception of alcoholic beverages. Overall, Parkside is a good food and drink option for locals and visitors alike looking to try something new.
