I enjoy shopping at Mint Condition. The store is very well organized, both by size and color. Upstairs there are always some great sale items. Four dressing rooms - I've never had to wait. Staff are always friendly and helpful, but never pushy. Brands range from H&M to designer, with a variety of prices. There is something for every fashionista. read more

Today was the 4th time I had been in Mint Condition (MC), in casual walking sports gear shopping through my neighborhood. I just moved to Old Town from DC and was happy to find a cute store with potential. I found quality pieces which fit my size XS! However, 3 of the 4 times I've experienced really appalling customer service from an old wrinkled faced sales lady named Donna. My perception is that she was racist and unhappy. The first and only time to collected clothing to try in 1st floor dressing room Donna told me not to 1) fondle through the other clothes rack to look for additional items to bring to my dressing room as she just arranged them the clothing neatly already and I was messing it up; and 2) she interrupted me from enjoying my experience of trying clothes to place all the clothes back on the hangers. Mind you, the clothes I did not want were already hung for sales associates to return to the floor. I politely asked her why I needed to hang the clothes that I was purchasing back on the hanger if they were going to be taken off the hanger anyway. I also pointed out the clothes that I had hung for her to return to shelves. She assumed the worse from me and accused me very wrongly. This is inappropriate behavior. Today was my first time to return to the store, first time to consign. In the store no more than 5 minutes, greeted by a sales associate. There was no one in line by the counter or any customers/sales associates that side of the room upon my arrival. As such, I was asked to work with the sales associate on the left front of the cashiers desk. A couple minutes I had signed to register for consignment, Donna, brought another customer to the register. I was learning the process to consign and instructed to complete a waiver. Donna asked me rudely to move from where I was standing just a few inches from the counter so she could pass to get the clip board to get clients to sign consignment registration form right side of me. The clip board was in-between Donna and I (my left, her right). She could of reached her arm to pick-up the clip board; and if she really needed to get something else, she could of walked around me and the other sales associate to get what she needed. I don't understand her rudeness. Who hires a place with who treats new and returning customers this way. Distasteful and unprofessional. I don't care what this place offers, if they do have anything to offer, I did not have the opportunity to make that decision. read more

Super cute shop in Old Town. I was looking for a Louis Neverfull, and they had 2! The lady that worked there was so friendly! Definitely recommend as a must-stop on your consignment trip in Old Town! read more

This shop is one of the best in Alexandria. Mint's selection is awesome and the prices are reasonable. The selection spans Gucci Loafers to Louboutin thigh high boots. The clothing Section is plentiful and the bags....oh the bags. I walked out with a new condition Louis Vuitton Epi Wallet for 98 bucks and a rare calf hair Luella Bag. Over all it was an amazing shopping experience. read more

I visited Mint Condition in search of a dress to wear to an upcoming wedding. It must be that I went when the stock was not great, but I wasn't impressed with what I found at Mint Condition when I visited this past weekend. There were certainly some good finds tucked away, including J Brand Jeans, Diane Von Fustenberg, and Chanel, but many of the dresses I looked at seemed dated. Several pairs of shoes I picked up in the sale area upstairs had soles that were incredibly worn, which in my mind would warrant a steep discount. A couple sweaters I looked at also had some fraying in the arm area, which is certainly something to avoid when shopping. The sales girls (they looked like they were in their teens) greeted everyone pleasantly but were involved in their conversation behind the register. I don't know if I'd return since the stock was so disappointing this time around. I'm sure the advertising out front of all the brands they carried got my hopes up, but it doesn't matter what brand something is if the items are in mediocre condition. read more

Very friendly and well organized. So happy I found this place today! Bought a pair of really nice leather black boots for under 50 bucks. They look new but feel perfectly worn in. Santos brand, very soft beautiful leather! I will be going back in November! I would of given 5 stars if they would of had more of selection of items. The sizes are mostly small, but you can luck out with med and larges at times. read more

What an absolutely delightful store! I stopped in this morning and was very pleased with the wonderful selection of clothing, shoes and accessories. The store is bright and inviting. This Old Town gem takes consignment to a whole new level! The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The clothing is in great condition and neatly arranged making it easy to go through and find the right pieces. I left with an awesome dress and blouse at an incredible price. It is like a treasure hunt, finding the right pieces for your wardrobe. I am definitely a new regular and highly recommend Mint Condition!! read more

I was visiting the area and had some time to check out this consignment. In general, the clothing was well chosen, no holes or marks on clothes. It lives up to the stores name. Most were high end designers that are familiar names, some I never heard of before. I feel the clothes are a little high priced though. Even though they are designer, they are second hand use and the prices are not that much lower than MSRP for a few items I was interested in. The shoes though were well priced though. One thing that I didnt like was when I wanted to try on a pair of boots. They only have one side (ex. right foot only) on display and you need to ask them for the other. The shoes and dressing room are located upstairs. When I came downstairs with clothes to try on, I asked to try on a specific pair of boots, too. Instead of her getting it for me, she said "go get the boot want and I'll find the left for it." I had to go upstairs, then back down again to give it to her just so she could go back upstairs again to take me to the fitting room. And told me to "meet her at the fitting room". My heels were also hurting very badly from the shoes I was wearing (thus the reason I needed new ones) and walking up and down was not in my favor that day. Bad customer service from who looked to be the manager/owner of this place. I ended up getting a pair of designer leather winter boots for about $40. I had a yelp discount that I wanted to redeem when I checked out, but honestly I feel like the same woman (who I had a feeling was the owner) didn't even apply it, as it wasn't listed on the receipt and the price didn't change. She had a strong personality and was not very warm so I didn't want to press it. The other employee, a young girl, was very nice though and helped get a dress off a mannequin that I wanted to try on. The store is very beautiful with a nice selection of clothes, jewelry, bags, shoes and accessories. I'll go back if I'm in the area again, but they need to show better customer care and positivity. read more

I have not walked into Mint in several years and wow has it improved 150%. I first went online to see their hours and was thrilled to see all the photos they had up of all their new items, which are always top notch as they are a bit particular with the quality of their items compared to some places. The new owners were very humble which brought a warmth to the place I'd not felt before. I think these ladies just may take the cake in this town. Bravo!! read more

Great place to shop! As in all consignment, you never know what you will find. Well worth the trip to Old Town. read more

This was one of the cleanest, most well-organized consignment experiences I've ever had! The store is really nicely arranged and just feels luxurious to be in. While browsing, I came across quite a few DvF and Milly dresses, and other high-end stuff; and there was also a decent selection of jeans; but I found my true loves in the upstairs room, where the sale merchandise and shoes are kept. I nearly wept on finding a pair of Tod's loafers that were just a hair too big, but in the end I got a very flattering and cutely beaded Cynthia Rowley tank for $8, so I can't complain. I found the prices here amazingly affordable, and the store was easy and pleasant to browse. They had high-end stuff as well as lots of mid-range stuff a la J. Crew, so nearly anyone can find something! read more

Ok, so I'm a business woman, vintage clothes buyer and seller extraordinaire; and I do consign with local consignments shops around the DMV - thought you might want to know. So I visited Mint Condition (MC) to see if the vintage clothes I have were up to par with their items; and to my surprise yes they were and are. MC has a selection of high end designer clothes and accessories throughout the store. I love how everything and where everything has its place in the store. As I looked around and sifted through the racks, I didn't see any vintage labels or clothes for that matter; and maybe - just maybe a few select retail store brands but no authentic vintage. And I know vintage when I see it as well as the labels; but it's possible they have some vintage pieces in their stock - maybe. So I made an appointment to bring some vintage items to consign with MC. Let me tell you, the MC is very particular when it comes to selecting what they believe or think will sell; and maybe their clientele is just that picky and/or they want trendy - what's current - brands. And that's fine too! Sadly though the pieces that I consigned didn't sell; and needless to say I was really surprised. But the flip side to consigning with MC is that there's a time frame the clothes are advertised to sell, and if they don't sell after that time period you can get your items back. Which I did; so I'll just take them to another consignment shop. So on that note, if you're not looking to consign but rather shop for some high end fashion labels, accessories, etc; but definitely no vintage, then MC is truly the place. But if you're looking for some truly, one-of-a-kind authentic vintage clothes; you won't find it at MC. Check me out on Instagram @nasuslorac or #viagypset. read more

Not sure the staff like people of color. The person at the front desk couldn't be bothered to say a single word to me, yet was so chatty and friendly when two white people walked into the store. It's bonkers to me that I need to "prove" I am a human being. I don't expect people to be "serving" me with a silver platter, but some warmth and not being treated like a piece of gum would be great lol. read more

The other day i came in here not really knowing what i was looking for, but i needed something for my girlfriend. I have been on the hunt for a new designer handbag for a while now and Mint Condition delivered. All the way from Texas, I was able to keep track of their new inventory via their up-to-date Instagram. When I saw a bag I loved, I called and they even sent me additional photos to make sure this was the right bag, sight-unseen. The staff is SO helpful and kind. You can tell they love their customers. Can't wait to shop with them again--- even from afar! read more

This place has an occasional great find...however, I had tons of high end stuff I wanted to consign before moving overseas. I wrote to them asking for an appointment and they never bothered to respond. I wouldn't trust them with my stuff if they can't even answer an email. read more

Ladies, Ladies ‼ please Go somewhere else to consign your beautiful items this place was once a beautiful consignment shop that I consigned to for years even from DC, the staff is Unprofessional disrespectful and extremely rude! They told me in front of customers that they don't need my business I asked to get the owner information that I never received I've brought some of my best items here which I still have never been paid out for!!!!!!!!!!! I believe they got stolen and the staff throw my payout under the bus! Please Go somewhere else you deserve the best when it comes to consignment shop because it's so many out here that will love your business! Unlike these disrespectful people! I'm still trying to reach the owner if you see this please contact me ! I'm highly upset and disappointed! read more

The staff is either horribly rude to those customers who aren't regulars or flat out racist. First, my mother and I were the only two-African American patrons in the store, and the only two that were not greeted or offered assistance, although other customers were. Then, while she waited for assistance, my mother was completely ignored by another salesperson who looked her square in the face and said nothing to her. Who then went to the backroom, came back out, and proceeded with rearranging a display, as if my mother wasn't even there. I will not spend my money where it is clearly not wanted, and will ask my friends and associates to do the same. read more

A charming consignment store. Lots of high-end pieces in, ahem, mint condition. Prices were ok, average I would say. Maybe similar to Loehmann's. But there were many things marked down for half, and this is where the best deals are at. Pieces are well chosen. I suspect I would pop in here often if I lived nearby. read more

I got an email about their flash sale today and stopped by, and when the girl at the register finished her lengthy conversation with her coworker and got around to ringing me up, she told me the sale didn't apply to me because I hadn't "mentioned it" when she was bagging my items, despite the fact that 1) nowhere in the email did it say you had to and 2) I had it on my phone and could have showed her that I'm on their mailing list. She also couldn't void the sale and rering it. I unsubscribed from their mailing list because of it, and don't really see the point in shopping there anymore. The quality of their stock has gone way down since they opened - I found a pair of shorts with a stain on the front and a sweater with a big hole in the back on this trip alone - and their jewelry, which used to be good stuff, is now cheap, Lulu's quality pieces. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with the selection and organization of the clothing at Mint Condition! They have a great selection of both clothing & shoes. I saw some Dior, Marc Jabos, Coach & Prada shoes, and none of them were over $100. They had a great selection of designer jeans as well. They were all nicely displayed by size on a shelf, so its easy to look through. Although, I didn't make a purchase, I would return. One comment though, they could improve the decor. read more

Really nice staff (especially the woman who I assume to be the owner? petite blonde, no-nonsense, great style advice), great selection of cute clothing, very reasonable prices compared to some nearby consignment stores. Great brands. I haven't consigned to Mint Condition but have purchased a few times and had great experiences. I always show up in my gym clothes (so embarrassing) and they're always nice to me despite my togs! read more

Don't take anything for consignment! They will lie to you and kids are running the store. How can you sell my brand new Donald Pliner shoes for $6.00...I would giving away to charity if that's all I was getting. But from my email exchange I had with them and what they have told me at their store doesn't match up. DON'T TAKE ANYTHING TO THEM UNLESS YOU JUST WANT TO GIVE THINGS AWAY. read more

I love this store. I have better luck finding cute clothes that fit than I do at the mall. Forget any preconcieved notions about consignment, this is like shopping in your best friend's closet. read more

I can't believe I ever walked in this place. They sale those cheap necklaces for $50 (the kind you can get in the fashion district wholesale store for $10). The customer service is what turned me off most of all. It was nonexistent. The store clerk never budged when I walked in. I expect that at the Celine store on Park Avenue but not at a thrift store in Alexandra, Virginia. $30 for a tired J. Crew skirt...no thanks, I'll stick to Beacon's Closet in Brooklyn if I'm looking for some J. Crew. read more

While I did not buy anything here I really liked their offerings (much better than Designer Divas). Everything was cuter and organized much better. They had an entire rack of designer jeans and cute dresses and coats. The dressing rooms were bright and fun and things seemed fresh. I would absolutely return here another time to see what updated items they will have. read more

Shopping at Mint Condition, is like going through your most stylish girlfriend's closet. So many good designer finds at excellent prices. I am both a consigner and a customer and have sold and purchased many beautiful things here over the years. I still get compliments on a gold Milly dress I bought here three years ago! The store is beautiful, well organized and the staff and owner are so friendly and helpful. The prices are fantastic. I mean where else can you get a pair of Louboutins for half price? Do yourself a favor and stop in soon :) read more

This is one of the best consignment shops around. I am older than most of the reviewers here, and I'm not a fashionista by a long shot, but I do appreciate the high quality of consigned items at Mint. The prices can be steeper than some might be willing to pay, but that's because they are selling mainly designer and high-end label clothing. For example, the more frugal and less trendy might react like my mother, who walked in, looked at a pair of shoes, looked at the price tag ($50), and said, "I can get a new pair for less than that!" Of course, she did not realize that they were a brand name pair of shoes that had originally cost $200. The reviewer who commented on the bargain room upstairs is absolutely right. it is a trove of finds, many of which are significantly marked down. I am personally always excited by the selection of designer jeans. I am short, so I am happy to find well-made jeans already hemmed to my length. To sum up: Mint is a fantastic boutique. It is a bright spot: a youthful and interesting clothing store in Old Town, which is definitely stuffy and conservative when it comes to style and fashion. read more

I've consigned clothes here and I believe they place everything at a fair price point. As the name suggests, they want things in Mint Condition and no older than two years normally. Here you'll find a mix of clothes, accessories, and jewelry from top designers and some more basic brands like J. Crew, Ann Taylor and Gap. The space is very cute and the staff are usually helpful. On a few occasions I've gone in and gotten a sort of stand offish vibe from newer staff, but the owner is nice. read more

Decent selection, expensive prices, and very rude/ pleasant-fake staff. Meh. Unimpressed.

My first visit was to sell. The process was quick and not intimidating. The owner was there I think. She was very nice and helpful. They set me up with an account and took everything I brought in. I received an email in a short few hours inventorying all my items and suggested list price...very efficient. I saw some lovely things while waiting. I never leave their store without something in my hand or at least on my wish list! And, I have had not trouble finding my size - which is not a zero or a two at the moment!
