We went to the creamery last night for the first time in awhile since they switched over to the new stuff. When they switched, my go to is a birthday cake blaster, and last summer we would go, but it was chocolate cake. I wasn't too excited, BUT that was my fault for not asking. I just didn't expect that in a birthday cake ice cream. So, last night when we got to the window I made sure to ask this time. The man said the birthday cake was made with a white cake and I was pleased that they changed it. After eating it, it was fully just brownie bites with sprinkles. STILL VERY GOOD, but I was disappointed because after even asking, they couldn't stop and say it wasn't white cake in the mix. Just because there's sprinkles doesn't make it birthday cake! read more

Minooka Creamery is a no-frills ice cream spot located near the high school. You can order by walking up to the shop, or by using the drive through. Regardless, the service is pretty snappy and the staff is pleasant. The menu is gigantic and offers an assortment of sundaes, tornadoes, shakes, and more. Additionally, they do offer some hot food as well. I do wish the menu was a bit easier to read, as it can be tricky at night or at a distance. My go-to item is the strawberry and vanilla swirl cone. I also really enjoy the turtle sundae. However, I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu! read more

This used to be the BEST place before the new ownership/franchise. Now, every time I've gone, the ice cream is terrible, they got rid of all the good hard pack ice cream and their banana shake was just vanilla soft serve with chunks of banana. We have been coming here for years and have always loved it. Recently they were bought out, and it isn't the same. In the past was very focused on customer service and providing great service. Today it's turned into just normal ice cream stop very similar to a DQ. When we went to order they were out of cookie dough, the strawberry soft serve machine was broken, and two things on the menu aren't sold at this location. 2 weeks ago i got an amazing sloppy joe sandwich from the Minooka Creamery. it was on a full sized bun and sloppy joe filled the container. IT WAS FANTASTIC.. 2 days ago i went out of my way and made the trip to get 2 sloppy joe sandwiches. when i got home i found what it in the pics below. NOTE. the buns are small slider buns and there is next to zero sloppy joe on the buns. so there was almost no sloppy joe on the sloppy joe sandwich, and the sandwich itself has gone from a regular burger bun to a tiny slider bun. note in the pics that a regular piece or bread would lay in the container. that shows you how small these are. what a let down. read more

My family loves going here! It is such a cute and fun place. The ice cream is amazing.

To say I'm a fan is an understatement. I am here every. single. week. Well at least late spring to early fall (I actually don't think they're open in the winter). And I come for the Italian Ice, and the Italian Ice alone... regardless of which flavor it is. Minooka Creamery is a local fave and I don't think it's going anywhere for a long time because even with the worst weather, there's always people here loading up on ice cream and such. You can either walk up and order directly in the front or you can drive up the right side, order, and wait for gloriousness. While I DO only come for the Italian Ice, once in a while I'll throw in something extra to my order like the pretzels or some nachos. It's a creamery... foods not their forte, it's more of the high school concession stand persuasion which is fitting since the Minooka high school is across the street. So unless you just have a craving for those types of eats, stick to what MC excels at... frozen foodstuffs. The menu on that is pretty extensive and inexpensive. My aforementioned favorite treat only comes in one flavor, but it changes week to week. So far my favorite has been the pomegranate and I always get it swirled with the vanilla ice cream/yogurt/whatever-it-is (I always just ask for "half Italian Ice" and they know what I mean). Also, one time when I was especially looking like a mess, when I got to the window the cashier stopped me mid order to tell me that "You are like so pretty." And not in a creepy or mean way, like she was being a totally genuine person. And then when she went to go grab my order she told me that they were all talking about how pretty I was back there... I don't know if she could see the bee's nest bun on my head but I was rocking that and an extremely oversized t-shirt (and not in a cool ironic way). But she gushed nonetheless. And after I paid, once again she gushed in a totally nice way. And it totally put a smile on my face as my husband pouted that nobody at MC told him that he was "so pretty". So I turned to him, and in an effort to make him feel better and to humble myself after this wonderful gushfest, said "Well they think I'm "pretty", but not pretty enough to get a free ice cream." And so the moral of the story is that they don't accept beauty in lieu of money at Minooka Creamery. read more

A good way to rate a place, if the base is crap nothing else will be good, and we were NOT disappointed. Excellent stuff! We stopped there just before closing on a weeknight. Service was pretty good considering it was staffed by what appeared to be a bunch of punk kids, LOL. No complaints all around. Love Minooka Creamery! We can't wait til they open every year for summer and stop by at the very least once a week when it is open! They have amazing monthly specials and we have yet to try something we don't like! Tons of different options for sundaes, tornados, cones, hard packed ice cream, and soft serve. Their food is great too! We get our daughter's birthday cake here every year and my husband gets me chocolate dipped strawberries for Mother's Day every year. The only down side is the lines get to be VERY long (but totally worth the wait) and it's a little pricey. read more

Great local place for ice cream and snacks,and some food items as well. we love that it is located next to the police station, so when our children do hang out here we feel a little safer. The staff is always very friendly, always has a smile on thier face and goes out if thier way to go the extra mile to smile, and say Hello and make a little conversation. We love that they have a drive true in case you don't feel like getting out if your car, but they also have a huge parking lot, and sitting area for those beautiful summer days you do feel like enjoying your ice cream with your family and friends. It's really 2.5 stars but, the "Meh. I've experienced better" template really summed it up nicely. A little ice cream stand that's in front of Minooka's finest and across the street from the high school. Couldn't decide which sundae to get so I got a small dough boy (cookie dough, hot fudge, and cookie) and milky way out (caramel and milky way pieces) all for $5.95. The dough boy was the favorite of the two. The milky way pieces on the other one were rock hard and hard to chew. Barely got any service. Was hardly acknowledged at the service window. Sort of got the impression that they were understaffed with only 2 high-school aged employees around 3:00 on a hot sunny day, which was kinda weird since this place is always crowded. There's something about this place that seems boring and outdated. Just can't put my finger on it. At least they accept credit cards on purchases over $5. read more

The creamery is a wonderful family oriented establishment. Their ice cream is the best as well as their other novelties. Prices are affordable and service is good. When the weather is hot, there's no better place in the minooka/channahon area to go to cool down. This place is always busy since there isn't much in Minooka. They're are always long line in the drive thru and the walk-up line. I've had the ice cream, never tried the food. I've gone 2x and both times we waited about 25-30 minutes to order. SMH. Not worth it in my opinion. I suggested they hire more people they said they did and would look into it.
