Cherry Bomb Sweets is a pretty chill place, literally and figuratively. Maybe gets some lively customers but nice for the most part. They have classic pop in addition to the ice cream so these interesting flavors go together. Because it was hot it was a good idea to come here. It's in a building that looks like it used to be a bank, so it's a good repurpose. This place doesn't get that busy it seems. Maybe because there's a Dairy Queen close by. This place has tons of beverage and ice cream options. It's about $2 for one of the many bottles of pop they have. There's a ton of interesting colors and flavors including the Frostie Soda, which had the green apple among these. It's about $5 for a bowl of ice cream. Last time they had the pineapple sorbet. Always has a few non dairy choices. That's cool stuff. Good to support local businesses. It's of course the busiest in summer. There's tons of pops and ice cream including a few sorbets for vegans.

We started to eat and literally seconds later a young man came out and yelled that the restaurant closes at 9pm and we have to leave. We started eating faster. Second after 9pm a young man came to our table and told us we had to leave. We said "give us just a few minutes and we'll be done. He left and moments later a woman came and told us we had to leave or they will call the cops! I told her we are almost done but feel free to call them if you want. She called the police. As we finished at 9:08 we were getting up to leave and the police came in. The officer that spoke to us listened to what we had to say and acknowledged that he understood our actions but they are a privately owned business and can demand anyone to leave at their discretion. Had they let us finish eating we would have been gone at 9:08, but once the police came we didn't get out until after 9:30. As we walked out a crowd of people approached us and said they saw the whole thing and one lady said "I am so sorry for what they did" and gave my wife a hug. There much more to this story but I think my point pretty clear. Supporting local businesses is very important to us, but this DQ is forever off our list. Very reminiscent of the Polish restaurants I remembered going to as a child with family on the South side of Chicago. Their house made bread with butter was very good. My husband got a beer and liked it so much he got bottles to go. He had gotten the breaded pork chop stuffed with cheese. I got pierogi and sides of fried cabbage and the sweet and sour beets. They were out of the first five common flavors we asked for. Ok new flavors picked. Order verified three times. Pull up to window and there's about 4 20 something year old girls working. So two scoop cone arrives, not on a sugar cone. Advise of error, they spend 5 minutes figuring out how to redo it. Meanwhile wrong cone is melting in my hand. We pay the bill. $9 and something. New cone arrives correct. They won't take first cone back so I ask for a bowl for it as it's dripping everywhere. I get the smallest bowl of all time. They then tried to send us off. I'm like uhhh we still have a sundae we're waiting on. What flavor was that I'm asked. Then they want us to pay the bill again. I said you already did - but she tells me it didn't go through (again several minutes have gone by). So I dig out my card again and she swipes it. Then tells me oh it did go through.
