This is a small, but extremely pleasant park. It is not a big park, but it is pleasant and enough people were here to see that it is a pretty popular park. Minnehaha Park, by the way, it is certainly a uniquely named park. I enjoyed the walking path and the pleasant water views. The parking lot was appropriately sized and decently maintained. The park was well-kept and overall, I enjoyed my time at Minnehaha Park.

Weeds in fake turf. HUGE Ant mound very dangerous especially for the little ones.

Groundkeepers should pay more attention to weeds and ant mounds. Our 16-month-old granddaughter stepped on a mound two weeks ago and was bitten all over. Went back today, and the mound is still there! Plus, weeds are growing through the fake turf. Moreover, people with dogs WITHOUT LEASHES even inside the NO PETS ALLOWED play areas. Their excuse? "Dogs need to exercise too". Well, have you ever heard of dog parks? FOLLOW THE RULES! Maitland needs to pay better attention to the maintenance duties.

Kids always have a blast here. a good part of the Kids Park area is shaded by natural trees. Could benefit from more in the swing area but overall a great park. There are two sections for smaller kids. Tennis / pickleball courts. Nice little trail as well with slightly older exercise equipment

I wish I knew about this place sooner! Minnehaha Park is located in Maitland right by the Howell Branch Rd & 17/92 Orlando Ave intersection. It borders Lake Minnehaha, and is connected by a tunnel that goes under Howell Branch Rd to Jim Houser Azalea Garden and Covered Bridge Park. The tunnel itself has some beautiful artwork and is part of the 1.1 mile Minnehaha loop trail, ideal for biking, birding & trail running. The tunnel also has a canal that connects Lake Minnehaha to Lake Nina, which connects to Lake Maitland. There is a boat launch next to the tunnel, but it is not suitable for motor boats. The park has plenty of big oak trees for shade, and a lovely boardwalk that goes down by the lake with informational signs about the local plants and flora. Down by the lake, there's picnic tables in pavilions with grills, and a dock with some benches for a nice scenic overlook. The park also has other amenities including two tennis courts, exercise equipment along the trail, a modern playground that is fenced in and has multiple sections, bathrooms and water fountains. This park is pet friendly as well and has plenty of pet waste stations available. I really love that Minnehaha Park has multiple uses, and has maintained a lot of beautiful local plants. There are wetland plants, cypress trees, big oaks, and more! There was a little bit of trash near the docks, so please don't forget to leave no trace when you visit!

I love Minnehaha Park. It's super clean and beautifully maintained. They have bathrooms, tennis courts, picnic pavilions, playground, boardwalk and more. There is plenty of parking available. The playground is divided into two areas. The 2-5 year old area has a cover a portion of it and the 5 to 12 year old section has lots of challenging equipment.

Minnehaha Park is a well kept park with amenities in Maitland. They have a playground, tennis courts, picnic tables, a fitness trail, and restrooms. My favorite part is the boardwalk that loops around to a small lake. This is an easy stroll and a pretty view to spend some time relaxing. Watch out for a few bugs/gnats which are to be expected around water in Florida. I like the layout of the park too as it feels open. The parking lot is a tad small but other than that this is a great place to take kids or even adults who want to enjoy a relaxing afternoon outdoors.

Great park for toddlers and even infants. Enclosed playgrounds so your little one can't run off anywhere. Very clean and safe. Partial coverage from the sun for some shade. Clean bathrooms and water fountain are available. I'm impressed

Boardwalks and tennis Minnehaha Park is an eight acre park located on Lake Minnehaha. Like most parks on lakes in Florida, Minnehaha Park has a great boardwalk for fishing, photography or just walking. It's amazing how the parks department can keep all these boardwalks in such pristine condition. My decks start to degrade in only one year even with water seal. The park also has some beautiful and very well maintained tennis courts. Two are lighted for after dark play and as far as I could tell there was no fee. The park also has one large and two smaller pavilion type structures and several benches scattered around. A nice playground, a cool outdoor calendar thing and very clean indoor bathrooms are also present. Not the largest park and more suitable for a casual stroll than any serious walking the park does offer a great place to play tennis or hang out on a very pleasant boardwalk to watch the birds or perhaps gators.

What a nice and tranquil park. I parked at this part because I wanted to get to the other side called Covered Bridge park. What I did not know was how beautiful this park was and that it actually has a Short boardwalk the covers the area around the Lake showing the different types of trees and plants in the grassy mossy area. What I also noticed was this is a very dog friendly park their. There's good walking trails. They have tennis lessons and people play pickle ball. The cypress trees are gorgeous wonderful for those who like taking photographs. It is currently 7:15 p.m. and there are children playing in the playground. This is also a nice time for good walk it has the life trail system for those who are in wheelchairs or are older for exercise. What's really cool about this park is if you walk to the for this part after the tennis courts there you can actually walk under the bridge and go to the other side of the street for safety purposes and that is were the Covered Bridge park is. D pickle ball courts are lit up for play. The park stays open Wednesday night until 10:00 p.m.

Great Park! They have a very nice playground for kids & a great running/walking trail with stops for exercises (see photos). It also connects to a park across the street by going under a bridge. The day we went the board walks were closed, so that made our run short. But we did 3 laps around & checked out all the stations. I will diffidently be going back here so I can see what the board walk have to offer.

Other park amenities include basketball courts, tennis courts, pavilions available for rental, restrooms, picnic tables, and outdoor fitness equipment. There are also two hardcourts for pickleball. The neighborhood and the park is named after one of the earliest property owner's daughter's favorite novel, Lorna Doone, written by English author, Richard Doddridge Blackmore, published in 1869. Lake Lorna Doone was the site of the South's first integrated Little League Baseball game on August 9, 1955. The 1955 little league season was the first after US Supreme Court rulings had eliminated "separate but equal" conditions in the nation's schools and public parks. The Pensacola Jaycees were declared winners of their local district by Little League headquarters in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. When local officials would not allow them to play against the all-white teams they instead advanced to the Florida State Tournament which was held at Lake Lorna Doone Park. They ended up losing to host Orlando in the second round, 5-0 but they were welcomed by the hometown crowd and given encouragement. In 2021, 12 acre Lake Lorna Doone Park underwent an $8 million renovation.
