They have a wide variety of items from fine jewelry to the most eclectic goods. From the outside you wouldn't expect it to be as large as it is, but it does span through multiple rooms. Many areas/rooms have themes like holiday, clearance, collectibles, household goods. It is very well organized. Store is pretty strict on "no large bag/backpack" policy but all employees were very friendly and respectful carrying it out. This place is not at all overpriced and you can certainly find some affordable gems without looking too hard.

The relatives were not sure what to get, were short on time, but sincerely wanted to give something that would be "just right." I called around, and the Learning Express employee was helpful and knowledgeable... Yay! I was able to direct our friends there, and they were able to quickly pick out something fun without feeling like they totally pawned off the gift purchase on moi. Everyone is happy! (and that 5 year old will be much happier to get something from Learning Express than a some new undies and a polo shirt... C'mon you have all been there! I have since probably purchased over 20 Jellycats from here, it's my favorite way to do so because I love supporting a local business and this shop is genuinely just the best. Outside of Jellycats, I've gotten Hello Kitty Blue Sky Ceramics, an Allen designs clock, Christmas ornaments, a lazy Susan, and baby gifts. Although I don't live in the area, anytime I'm out towards Oak Brook I ALWAYS make sure to stop by Fairytales to see what's new. Unfortunately due to the immense popularity of Jellycats, their stock has declined significantly which is a bit of a bummer, but it seems to be out of their control from my understanding. Everyone I've interacted with here has been incredibly sweet, I've done waitlist orders (I was able to get the large snow dragon jellycat this was as well as some of the rare Christmas ornaments!), and I've done a few online pickup orders as well. Each time my items are packaged beautifully and I feel so special walking out with the super high quality, beautifully branded Fairytales bag. Downtown Lombard truly has a gem, if it was closer to me I'd frequent a lot more, but it just makes my trips even more special when I do get to stop by.

I filed a claim with UPS who did an investigation but failed to retrieve my item. After also contacting Lombard Hobbies, they replaced my purchased item at no cost. Their handling of this matter is greatly appreciated and I definitely will purchase from them again based not only on their quick and fair handling of my situation, but also for their prices which are lower than some of the other online hobby stores.
