I've returned to Miniluxe for their gel manicure. They're pricey - $75 before tip. But, the end result is beautiful. Today, Jenny was the staffer who painted and shaped these beautiful nails. Most of the staff are wearing masks, and they're fine with me wearing mine. The parking at this location can be a little tough - they share a lot with Whole Foods. Be sure to leave yourself time to find a space before your appointment. read more

I have been getting my nails done for over 20 years. More recently I have been doing my own gel x at home which I typically get about 4 weeks of wear out of. I have no training, but just learned through YouTube. I just had a baby about 6 months ago and unfortunately don't have the time it takes to do my nails myself. As a surprise, my husband got me a gift card to MiniLuxe to get my nails done. This was my first time as a customer and I got a gel x manicure but after about 4 days I noticed my nails catching my hair when I showered, then 1 week later my nail popped off when simply using the remote. Then the next day another popped off when closing my car door. By the 10th day I was down to only 3 nails left. I called MiniLuxe on my day off. I work 7-7 as a nurse and they are closed before and after my shift. They advised me their work is only guaranteed for 7 days. She said she could offer me 20% off, but offered to contact her manager and see what she could offer. I agreed and she said she would call me back the following day. I never heard from her or the manager. The cost of this manicure is $100 which is significantly higher than other salons. I expected to get premium service at a premium price-- not work that only lasted 8-10 days. I would not recommend this salon for gel x or return for further services. The salon was very clean and staff were very friendly, but their prices and quality do not equate. read more

Manicure was fine, although the neck/shoulder massage was terrible. Come here for a mani/pedi, but never for a massage.

A great, luxurious, clean and beautiful salon - where I go for all my waxing needs by the amazing Jessica. Therefore, I will preface this by saying to choose Jessica as your esthetician for your services at the Hingham location (where I go/have been going for 3 years now). She is the absolute BEST, the only I'll go too and I will go to her for the rest of my life. She's so kind, professional, amazing at what she does and she truly loves her clients as if they were friends over business. Forever a repeat client to the amazing Jessica at MiniLuxe in Hingham, MA. read more

While it is a little pricey-you're getting way more than a 50 dollar mani/pedi. susan is the best

I got a gift card so I went there. I had really long nails so I asked the lady if she could please file them shorter and rounder. She said "no". I was like "excuse, what?". And she said she couldn't. So I was like "yes, you can...". She left and went to talk to someone in the front desk, once she was back she did it but not as short as I wanted. Also, they are not all in the same shape - some are round, some are pointy. After that she asked me which color I picked so I showed it to her. So she was going straight to the polish - no cuticles, no massage, no cream. So I asked her if she wasn't going to do my cuticles and she was surprised. She was like "oh, you want to do it?". And I was like "yes...?!?". So she did it very poorly - in the pics you can see that they are still there. She also didn't file then properly on top, so you can see the different levels due to the acrylic under. After that she did my toes and that went a bit better. I love the color. Overall it was a bad experience. It is double the price of any other place. So doing my cuticles should no be a question (specially because I was having the signature mani pedi). Pros: The place is clean and looks nice, you can tip using your card and they have a receptionist. read more

I received a gift card for $50... didn't realize the services cost so much... paid an extra $32 for my 6 year old daughter to get her toes painted plus $16 more in tips... both of us go somewhere local and don't pay nearly that much... came home and my toe is throbbing... took a look and I only asked for filing since I got a pedicure 2 weeks ago... well, looks like I'm missing the left side of my toe nail... I thought it would be an obvious that filing would just be the top of the nail. Just applied antibiotic cream on it and going to hope it's grows back fast. Will not be returning even if handed a gift card. read more

I've been going here for years and I've been meaning to write a review for forever! Miniluxe in Hingham is consistent every single time I walk in the door. It doesn't matter who does my nails. The environment is clean and everyone who works there is friendly. They are a great team and you can tell everyone feels supported. Big shout out to Zen who was SO PATIENT with me when I brought my 7 week old daughter with me (and of course my baby was crying and needed to eat during my appt). Zen made me feel so comfortable and did one hand at a time. Jessica does wonderful eyebrows and is always bubbly. My only wish for MiniLuxe if Hingham is to stay open later! Prior to Covid, they had appts until 8pm, perfect for when I got out of my shift at work (12 hour nursing shifts). It was so relaxing to go later after a long day. Highly recommend Miniluxe of Hingham! I do not trust my nails or waxing needs with anyone else! read more

I LOVE Miniluxe and how it sterilizes its equipment before using on customers. I was one of its first customers when it opened in Newton. I adore many of the staff members in Hingham. What I don't understand is how management allows the pedicure area to have become so ugly and eroded looking. MiniLuxe is not cheap. New outlets are all over the region. I've reached out in in-house surveys about this and have friends who say they were told a year ago something would be done. This quality is unfair to the employees and the customers. read more

Love this place! Jenny D is amazing and takes creat care of her clients. They recently renovated and the place looks fabulous!

I had a brazilian wax and brow wax done less than 2 weeks ago. The wax was to hot and left burns on my eye brow area for nearly a week after the wax. my Brazilian was was done poorly and it was insanely painful to try and fix the next day. There were so many roots left after my wax it was almost a waste of money. I know have painful ingrown hairs everywhere and red bumps returning as the hair grows back (ITS NOT EVEN BEEN A FULL 2 weeks and it's growing back). Im going to see a doctor to make sure it's not infected. This is not the way it should be. read more

I had the recharge pedicure and manicure with Nikki. She was meticulous and exceptional. Such a relaxing experience. I can't wait to return.

Just wanted to update/ rate minilux again because of how incredible it really is! Jessica is phenomenal and I don't know where my eyebrows would be without her! Every-time I go there it's always so clean and welcoming and I've never left unhappy once. It's so rare to find someone who has the amount of passion, talent and someone who really loves what they do and I finally found someone who truly does. I can't rave about Jess enough she really is the best at what she does and is one of the kindest, funniest people I have ever met. I will forever go to minilux and see her she's amazing!! If you have any hesitations about going there don't! You won't be disappointed and everyone in there is so sweet and talented and this will be my forever brow place! read more

Clean, Bright, & Beautiful nail salon. I was a walk in around 7:45pm on a Monday night got in & seated within 10min. Great color selection & the technician Vicky was very nice & knowledgeable. I would of given 5 stars but I wish the massage was a bit longer for the kind of high price for a pedicure but it is Hingham after all.. Everything seems to be pricier in Hingham. I really like that the techs weren't talking in another language to each other as well. I also thought the iPads at the drying stations was pretty cool. I plan on returning for a gel manicure soon. read more

MiniLuxe - Fall color... The tech Vicky told me they switch their entire color selection wall twice a year for the seasons.. I like that! - Nail Salons Near Me - Hingham, Massachusetts

Overall a pretty good experience at MiniLuxe Hingham today. Pros: - Vivian was my nail tech and did a great job with my gel manicure. She is very meticulous - polish was perfect! - Warm towel is a nice touch. - Found the spa to be airy and clean. - Location is easy to find and convenient. Might struggle to find close parking during weekend shopping madness. Cons: - Greeter/receptionist was very professional and seemed to do her job efficiently, but wasn't very friendly. It would be nice to be greeted with a smile. - Nail tech did not speak to me until the very end. While I took it as an opportunity to relax, a little socializing is nice. - Not many 'new' gel colors. Disappointing to always see the same hues. - I had a gift card so can't really complain but $47 for a gel mani is outrageous. I've had performance polish manis before and feel like those are just fine. Polish lasted almost 2 weeks. - Noticed these small glass vials of nail oil during checkout and thought they were samples before I was quickly charged $2! LOL! Fee is fine, but c'mon Miniluxe, we're talking drops of nail oil. Make them a little larger if you're going to charge? I'd hoped it was a parting gift included with my overpriced mani! :) read more

I was at derby shops today and on a whim went to get a manicure. They had an hour wait which was fine by me. When I came back for my appointment I checked in but the girl at the desk never explained that the wall of polishes were half testers & half live product. I only noticed the live product so I didn't know I could choose a color. Small issue but quickly resolved once Binh (I believe that was her name) came to get me. She walked over to the wall with me and asked me what my color preferences were and I picked a green with gold glitter. She then pulled another dark green color and showed me how if we put the green under the glittery one, it pops more. Sold!! I love that she was really interactive with my color selection. My manicure was awesome. It has been about 7 mo since I've done my nails professionally so I was in dire need of some help. Binh trimmed, filed & polished my nails to perfection. And the hand massage? Heaven. I will definitely be back to see her soon! read more

I only went here because i had a gift card... i will NEVER go back. Here is why.... 1. $42 for an uncomfortable pedicure is a rip off. The moment I sat down I was extremely uncomfortable. The chairs are great if you are under 5'5". I am not so I got to spend 40 mins with my knees under my chin. There are no massage chairs so you don't have the option to push back if you are tall like me. When i was trying to sit down I actually slipped and hurt my toes quite badly. 2. It wasn't relaxing. No foot massage really it tickled more then it felt good. Hot towel isn't anything special most places do it. 3. The thing you put your feet under was so hot it was also uncomfortable and felt like it was melting my skin off. The girl who did them did a decent job and I like the color but I am so turned off by the ridiculous price and how you can't be tall and enjoy a pedicure... not surprised by the poor experience given it's a chain. Go to creative nails up the street in Norwell!! Or anywhere else!!! read more

Got a basic mani/pedi by Jenny (using mini luxe brand nail polish) and as you'll see by the photos, it is a really bad manicure. My pedicure isn't much better. It's all around the nail and the cuticles and skin look horrible. She gave me a couple cuts and also hurt me so many times with her sharp nails and various other ways. It wasn't a very relaxing experience. For $59 + tip I would not recommend. read more

This is out of the way for me...as I live in Quincy...however, a trip to Derby Street for the shopping and a top notch mani/pedi is worth it. I do miss having the massage, but half the places you go have old chairs that malfunction more than they work anyway. The space is tight and you definitely want to make a reservation in advance. The prices are steep if you are used to the quick in-and-out of the dime-a-dozen nail salons that are around. It was about $79.00 for my pedicure and gel mani and I included the tip (ON THE CARD, YAY) after the fact. The whole process is clean and meticulously done. Alyssa was my nail tech and she was great. The gel polish (from the bamboo line) is gorgeous (called Marshmallow and it's adorable). Less abrasive on the nails. She also told me about their line of strengthening regular polishes that I plan on using between gels to help keep my nails strong and looking their best. Their sterilizing techniques are quality and makes me feel a lot safer in terms of the equipment being used on my digits. Will definitely be back as my nails are looking great 5 days in. No chips or lifting of the gel! read more

I've been to here twice. First time I got a Brazilian wax with Marcia (great), gel mani with Angela (perfection). And the second I got a eye brow wax (not the best, few strays that were missed), back to Angela for my gel mani and then a pedi with someone else. I was very happy with my pedicure until I came home and looked at my toes. It looks like the second coat of Polish was not applied to my entire nail and looks kinda jacked up. You can see where it wasn't applied, there's a clear ridge I don't have time to go get it fixed before I go away again, which is a shame. So I'll have jacked up toes for a few weeks. And for the price, I expected a good polish job, my nails were perfection. I'll probably try them for a pedi again, but go to someone else. read more

Miniluxe was mediocre, at least for the pedicure I got. No jetted tub or massage chairs, which you see everywhere else and come to expect. Staff was super friendly and accommodating enough to seat my group of 6 together, and they brought us glasses of water. The website advertises a 45 minute pedicure for $42, which is pricey, and mine definitely did not last a full 45 minutes, it was more like 30-35. If I'm paying that much for a pedicure, I expect luxury and at least a full 45 minutes (I'd have preferred an hour at that price). Overall my experience wasn't bad, but I don't think I'd go back. read more

This place is what every nail salon should strive to be. Hospital, clean, sanitary and professional. I went the other day with my mom and we both got pedicures. Before sitting down the lady at the front desk makes sure you have what you need to be comfortable. The basin for your feet don't have those built in jets that are a breeding ground for bacteria. All the instruments and tools used are taken out of a sanitary package or whatever you call that. Unwrapped right in front of you. My pedicurist was Lam and she did a great job. She was gentle and went the extra mile (and charge $$ with a treatment on my feet). So actually I would watch out for that if they ask. It can get steep. The pedicure came out perfect and I would definitely go back simply for the facilities. read more

It was my first time ever going to miniluxe. I went in for a deluxe French gel manicure. The service was friendly and the products are nice. I was ready to a give a good review. However, the way the clear polish was applied looks very streaky (not sure if cause the product or the application). On top of it, my nail cracked the next day. Very disappointing for a $70+ manicure. UPDATE: Miniluxe's manager reached out to me and informed me that they have a 7 day guarantee if anything goes wrong with your manicure. Next time, I'll take advantage of that. I believe anyone can make a mistake, it's how you handle it afterwards that matters. Their customer service was very friendly and I respect that they reach out to their customers. I'll definitely go back. Excited to give it another try. They had some beautiful gel colors i hadn't seen at other salons yet. read more

I love MINILIUXE and more specifically DERBY STREET location. The staff are very professional, the salon is extremely clean, & they use sterile tools/everything. NAILS:: I am super neurotic about my nails, and they always come out perfect. I get the gel manicures, they always have all the newest colors of the seasons & stay up to date on current nail trends. Angela is my Go-to nail technician, She is a hot ticket & always does a fantastic job. ONLY CON: It is $45 for gels, and an *ADDITIONAL* $10 o get them "removed" if you have gel on and for that price; I personally think that should just be included, but hey, it is still the only place I will pay to have my nails done. WAXING::: I recently (Spring2014) went in for my first Brazilian wax with MINILUXE and let me first start by saying- BEST WAX EVER. I have been getting Brazilian waxes for about 5+ years now and been to a handful of locations. All of which use slightly different techniques and wax types. The wax MINILUXE uses a hard wax (No strips) that has warming effect when applied to the skin. - Awesome. I highly recommend asking for Marcia. She is so pleasant and makes the experience as comfortable as possible. -- This location/Tech is the only place I will be going for the future. ___04/03/2015: Marcia has left. Best of luck to her, I'll miss our little chats. Upon finding this out, I saw VICTORIA who was fantastic as well. Has over 10 years of experience. read more

I had the best pedicure experience here on Friday with Alyssa. Her skills are impressive and she was lovely to work with. I had a great mani pedi here last month! I really like the pedicure stations and everything is extremely clean. There is a nice selection of colors and I saw the girl next to me getting a really cool manicure that was like a fading out glittering thing.. is that a good visual? I have been going to the Miniluxe in Boston for a couple of years now. Today, while out in the 'burbs, I decided to give the Hingham location a try. I had the standard Miniluxe mani/pedi, which never let's me down. Bella was my technician and she was awesome! She did a great job technically and was a pleasure to talk to. 2/5/14: I'm happy to report back that Miniluxe takes customer satisfaction very seriously. I went back for another gel manicure and the results are night and day from my first experience. I visited the MiniLuxe at Derby Street while visiting family after the holidays. I was very impressed with my overall experience! Immediately upon entering the store, I was warmly greeted by the manager, Bridgette, who offered to take my coat and asked if I would like any tea. I have an allergy to formaldehyde, so it is not always easy for me to have my nails done, unless I want a swollen face. I was directed to two lines that MiniLuxe carries that are formaldehyde-free. There were so many to choose from, which is something that I'm not accustomed to! The technician that I was paired with, Victoria, was perfect for me, as she is familiar with and sensitive to those with skin allergies. I was very impressed with her work. She was very friendly and easy to chat with. My nails, both fingers and toes, have never looked better. I really appreciated how much attention to detail she gave to her work. Overall I'm impressed with the cleanliness of MiniLuxe and the efforts they take to maintain high sanitary standards. All the tools were sanitized and those that were used on my nails were opened in front of me so I knew that they were clean. I've had experiences at other salons where I haven't always been sure of the tools, not so at MiniLuxe. You can see the room where they sanitize everything and they inform of their hospital-grade sanitation techniques. Pricing was on-par with other places I've been too. The only negative is that there isn't a MiniLuxe out in Connecticut by me. I can't wait to come back again when I'm in the area. read more

I stopped in to Miniluxe today for the first time for an eyebrow wax and was thoroughly impressed! You can't beat the location at Derby Street, and the salon has a fun yet relaxed vibe-- a great magazine selection while you wait, iPads set-up to use while your nails dry, and the wall of nail colors is organized by name and color-- a mani/pedi is for sure next on my list! As previous posters mentioned, it is a little on the pricey side (I paid $20 plus tip for my standard brow wax) but in my opinion, you get what you pay for. The technicians were very professional and had a great demeanor, and it's clear that sanitation is taken seriously-- you can see directly into the "Clean Room" where all of the tools are cleaned behind the receptionist's desk, and all tools used during my wax were taken out of individual sterilized packs. Lam, the technician who did my brows, did a great job. She waxed and then tweezed strays, and then pointed out what I needed to do to keep growing in the spare areas (overzealous plucker, here), and when would be best to check back with her (after I asked, of course). I will certainly be back in 3 weeks for my follow-up! The receptionist was also extremely nice, which I feel like you don't always find at the nicer salons. I will most certainly be back to Miniluxe for future services and am already looking in to booking them for pre-wedding fun before the big day later this year! (Also maybe good to note, that tips must be cash or personal check, not applied on your debit card.) read more

I have been into the Derby Street Mini Luxe location on several occasions and never once have I left dissatisfied. This is a team of friendly, personable, professional, and detail oriented women. For the money I paid for a pedicure, I expected it to be the best one of my life, and it just wasn't. I did really like my nail technician, Michelle. She gave a good leg massage and was very sweet. I do not think, however that the quality of the polish or the actually paint job was so good. One of the girls I was with had her pedicure chip just hours after leaving the salon. Another girl's manicure needed another coat, maybe two, and looked streaky. (They had different nail techs). When I looked more closely at my own pedicure, I noticed spots that were left unpainted or nail polish left on my toe. I will say miniluxe was probably the cleanest place I've ever had a pedicure, so that was a plus. They have a veey good selection of colors. No doubt Mini Luxe is a bit pricey, but the pampering, clean and natural products, and professional staff far outweigh the price tag. I enjoy shopping at Derby Street Shops, and once in a while when I'm able to escape the stresses of life, I find some relaxation at MiniLuxe. I must say that every time I've been there, I've been very happy with the service. I don't usually make an appointment which can be problematic for me because they are quite popular and it's challenging to find an appointment within half an hour of walking -in, but nevertheless, I try my luck. I have had both regular manicures, gel manicures, and most recently they have added the dazzle dry nail polish which is a little less expensive than their gel manicures, but only lasts between three to five days. I have also had a pedicure there which was quite relaxing and enjoyable. An important factor for me, besides the natural products and the very sanitary nail instruments they use, is the fact that the aestheticians don't speak to each other in a language that one cannot understand. That is an absolute faux pas for me as it causes an ambiance of discomfort. In the outside world, it doesn't bother me when others speak languages I can't comprehend. But, when I'm paying for a service, I believe it's the utmost in rudeness to carry on a conversation with someone else and not be attentive to the client. I love that the dazzle dry nail polishes don't contain formaldehyde, phthalates and other toxic ingredients. I also love the beautiful kaleidoscope of colors. My experiences thus far at MiniLuxe have been positive, and so I will continue to patronize them. read more
