Came here for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. The person who did my nails did such a great job! She's a younger lady and she was very nice. She got my callus spots without even me having to point them out (a lot of other places just carelessly scrub the soles and don't focus on any necessary areas). The paint job was amazing too, with no flaws and she makes sure that every nail is perfect. If it isn't, she'll fix it without even having to ask, I love that! This place is clean and they will abide by your appointment time but that's pretty much it! What went wrong: I had a Groupon here for the mani+pedi+paraffin wax+hot stone massage. The mani chipped right away (pic included from 30 minutes after manicure). I told the technician that one nail had chipped and she actually tried to press the nail polish back in place rather than paint a new coat! She lost the nail polish I asked for when I walked in and had to scramble to find it. The colors I ended up doing weren't my original pick. Neither of the girls spoke any English which I usually don't mind but I was 99% sure they were shit talking me in Mandarin. They kept looking over at me making gestures then gossiping. I asked for the pedi to have warmer water and the technician instead moved me to another chair. The hot massage lasted under two minutes of aggressive uncomfort and the girl almost fell asleep while doing it. The whole time I was there she looked like she was gonna pass out at any minute. Another review on Groupon stated that someone at this salon actually fell asleep in the middle of a pedicure which I'm 100% sure was her. I had a little shellac on a few nails and was scratching it off. The nail technician told me it's $5 to remove. I told her I only had a few nails with it so she looked at the manager said something in Mandarin then said okay it's $3. That was absolutely ridiculous since I barely had any on. I said okay anyway because I wanted to get out of there. At this point I was thinking there is no way in hell I'm coming back nor am I giving a tip. Then at the end they got even more ridiculous. As I'm leaving I stop at the desk to pay the $3 for the shellac removal. The manager tells me it's $10 minimum to pay by card. I had no cash on me so she suggested I leave a $7 tip with the $3 to make it $10. That was more than an 18% tip so I said absolutely no way. I didn't tell her that I wasn't even planning to tip after all that trouble they put me through. I tell her I have some cash in my car and I'll go get it. The manager then follows me outside into my car and waits. I find a $20 bill in there and she tells me she'll make change!! I told her no thanks and pulled out the coins I use to pay for parking. I gave her 12 quarters and said goodnight. No tip for terrible service, bad communication and ugly nails. I am never coming back here again!! read more

I just moved the area and have been searching for different nail salons. It was Presidents Day, and some nail salons were closed. Xius Nails was open for a full business day and wasn't too far away, so I decided to try it! I am glad I did. My nail technician, Lin (sorry if I spelled it wrong!) took her time doing my nails and did an awesome job. I asked for a design on my ring fingers and she didn't hesitate. At other salons, sometimes they make you feel guilty for asking for any kind of design, but she didn't make me feel that way! My nails were long and she I told her I wanted them shaped up but not cut down too low, and she did eexactly as I asked (at other salons, they will file them down really short regardless of what you say). The salon was quiet and tranquil, very clean, and has tasteful decor. I was only getting a gel manicure but I felt super relaxed in there! Their pedi is nothing great, could have done a better job shaping the nails, buffing away dead skin on feet(skimmed the surface with pumice once), trimming cuticles, and painting. Massage was minimal, other places would include some sort of sugar scrub, but hey every place is different. The whole experience was lackluster. All in all, the nails looked okay, but it's like my technician practically did the minimal so it could be just alright. Kudos on being mediocre across the board. I received a groupon as a gift and was excited to try a new nail salon in the area. My Groupon was for a Parafin pedi and manicure. I mentioned when I called that I wanted a gel mani basic pedi and they said that was okay. They gave me a gel mani pedi with hot stones and a parafin wax on just my heels. When i went to leave, i was going to tip and they said it would be $15 for an up charge for a gel manicure! I said why didn't you tell me that before, i only had a $15 on me total because i didn't think it was going to cost me anything! Also that is a super expensive up charge and not even worth the groupon! A few days after i got a gel manicure my polish started to chip and I always get the same color polish and i never usually have any problems at my regular salon. Then this morning my nails turned brown, I called and asked them if I could come in and get my nails fixed it had been a week since I was in and they told me there was "nothing they could do because a week had gone by" i said I had never had a problem in the past with a nail salon fixing my nails if the gel polish chipped or ever turned brown but they refused to help me. My gel polish manicure is lumpy and there are some specs of polish around my cuticles. I will start by saying the technition who did my nails was quite pleasant. That's about the only positive. I have been to this salon one other time to just get a gel mani and it was average (not great but not bad). Also, I should say I have never left a review for anything before but felt compelled to today. I got the groupon for mani/pedi, massage, and paraffin was. To start- I am always now wary of salons that do not use the plastic in the pedicure tubs, just gross, and this salon does not. This salon also did not have fresh tools so I am not sure how many people the items have been used on and how often, if at all, they are cleaned. My actual pedicure was the worst thing I have ever received. I did not get the "salt scrub" to exfoliate my skin like normally is part of it. Well, I guess I did if you consider the minute about that was put on the top of my foot (?) and promptly rinsed. Also, the "massage" lasted roughly 30 seconds if I'm being generous. The manicure was just as rushed. Not only this but when it came time to cut the cuticle she actually started cutting skin around my nails. The color looks nice, however the rest of my nails look "okay". I'm hoping that today was just an off day for the tech and that it is not a reflection on the salon as a whole. Wonderful experience in an immaculate salon. Got a lovely French manicure and very relaxing pedicure with hot stone massage and paraffin wax treatment. Easy in and out with parking in the back. Friendly staff. Great attention to detail - my nails & toes look great! My only suggestion is: Turn the television off and put on some nice, relaxing music instead - for more of a "spa" atmosphere. I wasn't too keen on watching golf and listening to the commentators on a Sunday afternoon. Since I was the only person there, I asked if they wouldn't mind shutting it off and they happily obliged. I was very happy with my experience at Xius Nails. The place is immaculate. I had a pedicure and decided on a manicure last minute. I walked in, made no appointment, and they were very accommodating. My finger nail polish last from Sunday through Friday with only minor chipping caused by me. My toes look great. The young lady did a great job with the spa pedicure, used had stones, massaged for a bit longer as that was part of the package. It was well worth the money. no one else was in there while I was, so I had the place to myself.The manicure area is as well kept as the pedicure chairs. Very nice, clean, run by a good family.
