Dip manicure doesn't last more than one week, lifts from real nail and shatters when you hit it against something. Thought it was just a fluke, but has happened twice. I have had to go back multiple times for nails coming off in one piece or shattering within days of having them done. Recently got a gel pedicure and one foot has no clear coat. Unfortunate because they are very nice and the salon is clean and welcoming. read more

This is by far the best nail salon I've been to in years. The one thing that stood out to me, as a healthcare professional, was the cleanliness and adherence to DPH regulations/guidelines. The last few salons that I've been to only very loosely followed DPH guidelines at best. The great ratings drew me in, but the immaculate environment and friendly staff kept me there. As other reviewers have noted, the salon is very lovely with a modern decor which is impeccably clean with superb organization. There is great attention to detail with both decor and product displays. Steve and Cindy were extremely personable and accommodating. Steve was very informative, explaining each service option and offering his professional input so that I was able to make informed decisions regarding my services. Timeliness was a bit of an issue as there was a steady flow of clientele. I was a "walk in" and was advised that it would be an hour before anyone was available to assist me. I had another errand to run in the area and since my afternoon was very open, this wasn't a problem. Even if I had been pressed for time, I would have gladly postponed my visit to another day as it would have certainly been worth the wait. I explained to Steve what my preferences were and he delivered the "perfect 10". My nails look great with a more natural appearance, just as I had requested. For once, I feel like I actually got exactly what I wanted and at a fantastic price! I forgot to grab a price list on my way out but I can tell you that I paid significantly less here for much better quality than I've received at other salons. *Just some random side notes that mattered to me: 1) I noticed that some of the music that was playing is the same music that I incorporate into my meditations. It's very soothing and conducive to a relaxing atmosphere. They're spot on with the music. 2) Steve was very sincere and engaging in conversation but not over talkative and imposing. This is important to me because the time I spend having my nails done is usually a rare bit of downtime in my otherwise hectic schedule. I spend my days in a "PR" role and it's nice to not feel obligated to feign interest in a forced conversation. At the same time, there has to be a comfortable level of communication to avoid awkward silence. Steve struck this balance beautifully. 3) The level of respect shown by Steve and Cindy toward their clients was second to none. I've been in many other salons over the years and have been subjected to nail technicians being preoccupied with personal phone calls/texting, engaged in personal conversations with other staff around them or distracted by a TV, eating, etc. There were no "cringe worthy" moments during my visit here today. Clients were greeted by name as they arrived and treated as friends. Everyone in a customer service industry should strive for such standards of professionalism. In summary: I highly recommend this nail salon. They've elevated everything they do here to a standard of excellence that you will not find anywhere else. Quality, professionalism, atmosphere... it's all here. This experience absolutely made my day and I hope you'll see for yourself how fantastic Tranquil Nails really is! read more

Had a very relaxing mani pedi here. For me, the most important thing about a nail salon is cleanliness. Tranquil Nails was very clean and had a very soothing atmosphere. Everyone is extremely nice here. I like how I had to sign in at the beginning. From then on, they addressed me by my first name which created a very personalized experience. My mani pedi was very good. Great shape, and the polish is holding up nicely. The only suggestion I have is getting a more aggressive massage during the pedicure. I am so disappointed. I loved Cindy and she has left this salon. I tried someone else here and I will never come back. I got a gel manicure and it chipped the next day. I don't think the woman did 3 coats. Also, I hated the way she shaped my nails even after I showed her a picture on my phone. It was hard to talk to her because there was a language barrier. I just gave up trying to explain to her. The Owner spent 15 minutes complaining to me about another review here on Yelp. During my lunch break I ran over to Tranquil Nails to get a pedicure for a weekend trip. Not only did they do a great job it was also quick so I was able to get back to work in less than an hour. I used to go here every two weeks! First bad experience was when I was headed to Morocco. As soon as I landed a day later my first nail broke. The next day The second one broke. How embarrassing!! In another country, can't speak their language with two missing nails. I was pissed to say the least. She assured me that she would fix it and she did at my two week refill! After that everything was smooth sailing until march 25. It was my grandmas birthday and I was running a little late because of traffic. The owner told she wouldn't do my nails. So I said fine it's her birthday so do hers. Rewind to two weeks before that, they were late opening the salon by 20 minutes. I was on time and had got dropped off by Uber in the rain but I stayed and waited. She didn't care that I spent good money and tipped very well every two weeks. After seeing the great job on my feet, I went for the gel nail. Not disappointed there either, excellent job. I used to love it here, but since the new owners started out by lying and said the local favorites "Cindy & Steve" were just on a "vacation" then actually they no longer worked there, it has turned my opinion on the whole business. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but my manicures for the last 3 months have gone from eh-ok to downright miserable with all of my nails left weak from their electric filing, excessive scraping and endless buffing as if I had acrylic nails. Tranquil nails recently opened in South Weymouth. This is a very clean salon with nice decorum. What I liked the most about it was the relaxing background music. I can't stand it when salons have the TV blaring in the background. My pedicure is exactly what I expected, nothing fancy but the massage was nice and my nails came out great. read more

I thought I would give this new salon a try but quickly learned that was a big mistake. I walked in the door and was blatantly ignored by both employees. One of them was with a customer so I wasn't really worried, but the young lady made no effort to say hello or ask if she could help me. When she finally acknowledged me I asked if she had any room for a manicure pedicure or both and she very rudely said, "No. You have to come back." They advertise walk ine are welcome but they do not leave any availability in their schedule for said walk ins. The salon was cold and uninviting as well. read more
