I made an appointment for a pedicure and full set acrylics for 12:00 pm on August 8, 2018. When I arrived an older gentleman greeted me and was very friendly. He asked me to choose a color and directed me to the pedicure chair. I hate to admit that I've never had a pedicure in my 28 years of living, but I was traveling to California the next day for a wedding so I decided to finally get one. The pedicure was very good. The young man took his time and did a great job. I loved the hot stones that he used, that was a nice surprise. My toes actually still look really good two weeks later. Next, an older woman did my acrylic set. At first she asked if I wanted gel, and I told her I did not as my nails were pretty short so I wanted acrylics to add a little more length. I told her that I wanted a square shape and she asked if I wanted rounded edges. I have to admit I haven't had acrylics in a few years so I told her that I wasn't sure, hoping she would guide me in the right direction and suggest the rounded edges or not. She then seemed annoyed asked if I had ever had acrylics before and I stated I had but that it had been a few years. She didn't speak to me much during the process and the job seemed rushed. I noticed that a couple of nails didn't look quite right and was hoping she was going to fix them (I thought to myself there's no way she doesn't see that). I'm a shy person and have a hard time speaking up so I was hoping that maybe my eyes were just playing tricks on me. I then sat at the drying section and let my nails dry under the lights for about 15 minutes. When I arrived home, I noticed that the nails looked much worse than I originally thought (lumpy and uneven). I didn't have time to return to have them fixed as I was leaving very early the next day and still had a lot of errands to run for the trip (the attached photos were taken immediately upon arriving home from the appointment). I emailed the photos I took to the owner and requested that they offer me a free fill. I wanted to give them the benefit of a doubt that maybe she was just having an off day. I have not heard back from the owner which is why I decided to write this review. I am writing this review in response to the professional manner in which this business handled a miscommunication about the cost of services. My daughter, a regular customer, went in for gel acrylics. She asked for a specific length and shape. The nail technician obliged. Her nails were done well and she was pleased with the results. When she went to pay the bill there were additional charges for the length and shape. These extra charges that were not explained prior to being done. When my daughter questioned the price, the gentleman refunded the added charges. He was professional, reasonable and kind. This is a reputable business. Terrible experience will never go back first and last time. Stopped in to try a new salon since moving to the area and broke a nail so I just needed 1 fixed. The atmosphere is like a hospital waiting room. The spoke to me as if I'm bothering them (Mia -nail tech) the two clients in there didn't seem happy or to be enjoying the experience. The nail tech argued with my after I told her I needed acrylic, gel polish, she rushed to fix the nail while continuing to push my hand away (aggressively) after each application. I've had a few pedicures here and they're always really great. It's a go-to place for my friend and me to spend some time together. Reasonable price, super thorough job, awesome color selection for both regular and gel polishes. I decided to also get a short fullset acrylic manicure done on my last visit, and like some of the other reviews here, I feel like it could have been done better. As someone who has gotten this done many times before, I asked for the tips to be cut very short but the lady who did my nails (different from the young man who did my pedicure) told me she couldn't go shorter. I also feel like it was a rushed job--no cuticle care at all. The end result was a very thick nail with uneven edges, especially along the aforementioned unattended cuticles. There was a lot of residue stuck on my finger skin afterwards. The unevenness makes me think this acrylic set will not last long before it chips. Bottom line, I'd come back for my friend date pedicures but I don't plan on returning for manis. read more

We originally wanted gel but when both my nail tech and my friends nail tech told us our nails were very thin we decided to play it safe and switch to regular. I have been here a few times and really wanted to make them my go-to place, because I did have a great experience the first time (a gel polish that lasted weeks and a great pedicure and massage with the son), but ever since I haven't been completely satisfied, especially with my manicures. The last two times my shape was more round than the square I had asked for. Also, they did not go far enough down to the base of my fingernails with the polish, so my nails looked grown out after only a few days! Finally, someone else was waiting for a pedicure with a friend, and I was obviously rushed through my mani and pedi so she didn't have to wait. Literally the cuticle pusher didn't even touch my toe nails, it just skimmed through the air. Was so unimpressed with this last visit, that I will probably continue searching for a better nail salon. The pros to this place is that everything is new, they have a large parking lot next to them, and they have TONS of colors that are very nicely organized. Never again! I should have never come here after reading the reviews. Not friendly and the older woman that did my nails rushed and seemed angry to be doing my nails. I got a pedicure and manicure dip. While the younger woman worked on my pedicure the angry woman started my nails while I was in the pedicure chair. She rushed to file them. I've never felt more uncomfortable in a nail salon. The woman rushed through my manicure, almost angrily. When I got up to wash my hands someone else had been placed where I was sitting. I accidentally hit my pinky and it was barely fixed even though I was sitting in the chair and the woman saw it happen. I came here while in town for work, after ruining a fresh pedicure swimming in a pool. I opted for Essie's "at home gel" polish because I didn't want to mess it up again before more travel for my birthday, vacation, and 2 weddings. My mother and I have been coming to California Nails about every two weeks since it first opened a year ago. We are always satisfied with our gel nails. They have so many colors to chose from. There has never been a problem and they come out perfect each time. They work very hard to make sure the job is done well each time. The salon is very well taken care of. The place is very bright and clean, and everyone was very nice. We got deluxe spa pedicures, which a technician explained as "more massage", and all services were 10% off. Since moving to Braintree I haven't found a place I love for pedicures; I got a flier in the mail that said 20% off and then my best friend told me she went after work; and got the best hand massage so I couldn't resist trying it out! I've gone there since I tried it out about 2 months ago and haven't looked back! This past Sunday I got the spa pedicure and my feet feel so good - not a dry spot on them and the massage was the best! Probably the best pedi I've ever had and it was 28.00 because the 20% off! I did have an issue with one manicure and the gel kept peeling off and I went back and the owner fixed for free! You can tell they want to keep customers happy and coming back! Went here for a relaxing pedicure and a thorough pedicure. Wanted my ingrowns dug our and a long leg massage. We called for appointments and they said okay but never asked for our name or number. We came in and they were very nice so we sat down in the pedicure chairs. About 5 minutes in the place started to smell like sewerage. I noticed a sign on one of the bathroom doors that said it was broken. It smelt so bad the entire time we got our pedicures. The person doing my mothers pedicure couldn't even figure out how to use the chair to move my mom forward. I had to do it for her. Then the girl doing my mom's pedicure had no idea how to put the parafin on my mom's feet. My girl had to stop my pedicure to help her. My mom said the massage was non existent she didn't even know her legs were being rubbed. My massage was okay but I felt very rushed. Then to top it off it was so quickly done and then they charged us 41 dollars each!!
