Great owners! Food was delicious. The tar tar sauce was on different level! The inside can be cleaner but overall this is a great.

However, please allow me to say that having this establishment in Minneapolis is much needed because one can get food from various types of cuisines here and that itself honestly makes this place very valuable. Among all the dishes I have ordered over two times visiting here, my favorite was the kofte, which I know is a form of traditional Turkish dish, and what I loved about it was the ample amount of seasoning that defined the flavor of the ground beef & lamb and the sauce that would alter the flavor profile in a positive manner if needed. The pickled onion and rice offered extra means to enjoy the dish, so I utilized them to the maximum. The adana kebab was a kebab version of the kofte except for the meat wasn't as seasoned. My friend had that dish and it was still good. I also have tried the iskender which I knew was a popular dish here and also a common dish in Türkiye. It was slightly underwhelming because the meat wasn't as seasoned and wasn't tender enough, so I had to rely on the tomato sauce and the yogurt for assistance. Another friend had the beef stroganoff and I tasted it a bit. The tenderloin was marinated very well and the demi glace provided good flavor, along with the brussels sprouts that was cooked well enough to serve as a side dish. The lentil soup was pretty good, albeit not spectacular as it was relatively plain, and I know that lentil requires seasoning to give it flavor. The baklava wasn't crispy enough on the top and didn't have enough stickiness or sweetness to compliment the amount of pistachio that was added, but I will say that having a good amount of pistachio was a definite plus. The sutlac was great! The rice pudding flavor was evident and having one scoop with such along with the pistachio on top made it a very enjoyable experience! It also had a lot in a bowl, so the amount included was also very satisfactory. As mentioned previously, this place is a gem and much needed to stay here in Minneapolis. Their menu looks so fascinating that there are more dishes that I want to try, which I am committed to doing. I will also recommend this establishment to anyone looking for Turkish food in the Twin Cities!

Is this the best dinner I've had in Mpls? It might be!…read more Came in for Valentine's Day on an almost accident. My partner said, "ever been to Fhimas? I think it's French?" And I was on board. We made reservations without another thought. I ended up googling the menu and realizing my partner was a little off on what type of cuisine this was and I was in unfamiliar territory though still excited to try. We loved every second of our experience here! The decor was amazing, the service was exceptional, the food was to die for. They had a special Valentine's Day menu which included beef Wellington for two, so we got that. Asked if it had sides and they said no. I asked if a veg was possible, expecting frozen, microwaved bland veggies. We got beautifully roasted, seasoned veggies that were amazing. Plus the beef Wellington was melting in our mouths. Cocktails were also exceptional. We had an espresso martini and old fashioned which came with a table side experience. We ended our adventure with the sticky toffee torte which was another exceptional dish. Our server was so kind and so so knowledgeable about every item and restaurant in the owners catalog. Very impressive all around.

Tables all around the restaurant, including the bar, left from previous patrons. Looks like a bomb went off. After 1+ hour, most of the tables are still covered in dirty plates and napkins. It's not that busy, maybe 10-20% full from 8:30 pm and beyond. Vibes = 2/10. What about the food? I've traveled all over the Mediterranean and Middle East. I'd give the Shashuka a 5-6 out of 10. It was supposed to be served with crepes and I had visions of Saluf and Sons Yemeni restaurant in Tel Aviv (now closed). Here it was served with a French bread / hot dog bun. Crepe???? I guess French bread and crepes are from the same country, but count me as unimpressed.

I usually go to Holy Land , and that is good, but this definitely is the next best thing. This also has a butcher shop, fresh pita and other breads, lots of produce with fresh mint, cilantro and parsley always plentiful and clean. They also have a small deli grab and go next to the butcher are where there are fresh made snacks, za'atr bread, spinach pies, etc The olive and cheese deli section is plentiful as well. There is a separate cafe which I did not try on this visit but will be back for it. Plenty of seating and they had my favorite Falafel sandwich on the menu My favorite part are the little snack goodies in the grocery area such as chips of unique flavors, a variety of candy , and salted nuts snacks. There is a large amount of Indian groceries as well for those looking for that. They say are the largest Halal market in Minnesota for those looking for that niche. They have their own private parking lot and are off of University Ave and 85th Ave. There is always someone available from the store to answer questions. Looking forward to trying their cafe next time.!

Finally made a point to come here for dinner and excited to try out their food! Not realizing it was also connected to the supermarket we wandered the aisles for a bit before heading over to the cooked food cafe. My husband grabbed some olives and immediately started eating them while we sat in the grill area--10/10 no regrets. We ordered the babaganoush, garlic spread, and a falafel sandwich. While we weren't huge fans of the pita (very bready), the dips were so good they made up for it. Great food, great market vibes, and a fun place to try something new!
