Loved how many options of bowls they had, though mostly it's different combinations of banana, blueberries, strawberries, cacao nibs, and coconut shreds. Peanut or almond butter are also selections, as are pistachios, which were on my Goin' Back to Cali bowl. For some reason, I was left with a medicinal aftertaste after eating my bowl, and I'm not sure if it was the açaí base or the coconut shreds that were the culprit. The bananas used were also not quite ripe and ready to go and tasted a bit green, if you know what I mean. Had some time before my next appointment and I had not had any food yet... 3:18pm. Yikes. Driving through the Glen I noticed this juice bar and made a pit stop. Mingle offers the usual found at juice bars. Juice, smoothies, Acai bowls and a few other easy to eat items. The ordering process is efficient and offered via Apple tablets. I decided to go with a super green juice and a shot of 'wellness'. Shots run for $5 and it's a great deal. Something equivalent to two - three oz and a handy plastic shot container with screw top. Unfortunately due to the local health department these cannot be reused. Bummer! Aren't we trying to scale back on plastic waste? Both of my items were packed to go but I wonder if (the shot) can be served in a traditional shot glass so that these small jars are not simply hitting a recycling bin or worse trash bins. Ps shots are not for the faint of heart. It'll take some gusto to get it all down if you aren't used to freshly juiced produce. Ps kudos to management utilizing a top brand air purifier in store. I would try any bowl or smoothie here without hesitation! Every bowl/smoothie I have had here has been delicious with the added bonus of being healthy. I'm pretty confident I've made it through their entire menu. As for the muffins and chia pudding, I can live without. Had the chia pudding once and I had to dump tablespoons of cinnamon to make it enjoyable. Price point is a little steep at roughly $10/item but it won't be money wasted. Parking is plentiful; there is a garage as well. Place is clean, inviting, and colorful. Service is okay; my last visit was the first time we were greeted with a smile, effusive energy, and friendliness. It wasn't unfriendly before, just different but always quick service. Went there with friends today that had fond memories of a year ago. Listen, Covid is not an excuse for bad quality or assembly of a simple product. Like some of the other reviews, I wanted to support small business and we actually drove from Lake Forest to have this product. Covid it's not the problem, waiting for the outside is not the problem and neither is the clients standing there waiting with us. I have been a frequent customer at mingle since they opened. I have a few issues with this establishment. They never answer phone calls and the hours are not always correct. Maybe by answering their phone once in a while it would save people the trip. Also the quality of their smoothies and smoothie bowls has gone down drastically. Not sure if there is a new crew training or whatever the problem is but my smoothie bowls have came out watery for the past month that I have been coming here. Finally, it's open! I tried Mingle Juice Bar at a promotional Yelp event and have been excitedly awaiting it's arrival. The space is very open and relaxing with fresh produce on display, a refrigerated section with cold pressed juices ( there was a special today for $2 carrot/ginger) try this amazing dessert made of chia seeds, coconut milk, shredded coconut and berries,) and some baked goods in the front. There's a huge array of drinks from cold pressed, freshly made to order juices or smoothies, some desserts and other healthy treats which is a great alternative to the overly sweet and processed foods out there. I tried the 'strawberry fields' smoothie with strawberry/blueberry/peach/kale/coconut milk and it was not too sweet and was filling. For the fresh smoothies you can opt for a choice of soy/almond/or coconut milk or coconut water. On my first visit, I tried 'one love' which is freshly made to order with apple , lime, mint, and kale. I really loved this drink and will get it again..also tried a sample of 'let it go' smoothie which is essentially like a chocolate milkshake...so yummy! There's a huge variety of drinks to choose from which can appease the pickiest of eaters. We be jammin'... my smoothie was so good I forgot to snap a photo before it was too late. Contrary to what some people might believe about me, I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to trying new foods. If someone were to put these two things in front of me--a stack of Oreo cookies and a pile of kale--my heart would tell me to go with the cookie and my head would feel guilty knowing I should choose the kale. And what's with almond milk anyway? What I know now... healthy can taste good! So I ordered the Jammin' smoothie with almond milk, strawberry, blueberry, kale, banana, and peanut butter. Holy deliciousness! I couldn't taste the kale at all! And, I'm sure that was super healthy peanut butter in there too. Thick like a milkshake, and bursting with flavor. So filling that it was my dinner for the night - can you say tasty and easy meal replacement? Note: One of the co-owners is a physician, so each yummy bite is doctor approved! Simply adorable. This juice and smoothie shop is as cute as can be. Kudos to whoever designed it. I would not mind several rooms at home like this. The smoothies base can be almond, peanut, soy, rice or coconut, I believe, and then additions from there. They have many pre-chosen smoothies on the menu. On our single visit so far, I chose the "Let it go" 16 ounce smoothie with an almond milk base. The smoothie itself consists of hot chocolate mix, banana and choice of nut butter. Only 125 calories, yummy and quite filling! They make everything there, all organic or as much as possible. My husband chose the "Jammin'" smoothie (220 calories) which is berry-heavy with a bit of banana and kale. I tasted it and it was very good, though I think it could have used some sweetness to combat the tart, perhaps a touch of honey or agave. Each cost a mere $6, and I think well worth it. There is also a case of pre-made items including their own in-house crafted almond milks. I'm quite anxious to try these but they were out. I think the trick is to get there early. They run about $9 for a 16 ounce. I'll have to get there early enough to try and grab a bottle and give it a whirl. More to come on that. You can also pick up an acai bowl, or soup and sandwiches, all of a veggie nature. This shop is in the Glen which I was not familiar with and now, I'm eager to explore the tons of shops an eateries in the future. There was nobody else there and I was about 10 feet from her. I have waited over 20 min s for a smoothie when there are just a handful of people in the location. They have never picked up the phone and I have tried to call on multiple occasions I have been there 5 min before closing to have the door locked as I am walking up to the door. I was excited to try out Mingle but my experience here was mediocre. I ordered the Jammin smoothie which was blueberries, strawberries, kale, banana, and your choice of a nut butter. Here are things I liked and didn't like about Mingle. LIKES *customization - you're able to choose the base to your smoothie (almond, soy, coconut, coconut water, or rice) in addition to swapping out fruits or veggies if you don't like one of the ingredients in the drinks *cute decor and ambiance *healthy options to your typical smoothies/juices/milkshakes DISLIKES *overpriced drinks - yes I know they use fresh ingredients but seriously, $7 for a 16oz smoothie?? *my drink was super liquid-y and had no taste to it. I've made smoothies at home that tasted 100x better. I couldn't taste any banana or nut butter and those two alone have very strong flavors. What I love most about Mingle is...well everything! Mingle is a juice bar with your health in mind and that's why I love it. I am ADDICTED to lemonade so being able to get a low sugar chemically free delicious Lemon Shake Up makes my day! If you are going here expecting a thick, creamy, milkshake that's just not going to happen. This isn't a Jamba Juice where the drinks have juice in the names but aren't healthy. These are still amazingly delicious but also good for you. I think the reviews where people seem unsatisfied might be because of some unrealistic expectations. Some of my favorites: -The Cinnamon Roll. It takes like the delicious milk in the bottom of a bowl filled with cinnamon toast crunch. -Lemon Shake Up. So damn delicious with a pop of tart that it makes it so tasty. It was so hot on Saturday that I made my bf take me so I could get one and it was the best thing in the world on a hot day while out in the sun. -The Chocolate Shake. So much yum. Always tasty and satisfying and great for a pre or post workout. -One Love. Both my boss and my bf love this. I don't like Kale so I haven't tried it but it always get finished in a few minutes so that must be a good thing! -Godzilla Shots! OMG these are the BEST energy boost. -The muffins. You cannot east just one. Seriously they are addicting!! Tasty, baked perfect, scrumptious. The cons: -That's there's not one right next to my house? This is an A+ plus but know that it is run by two health conscious people who are make delicious juices not filled with processed stuff. I decided to ignore her and focus on the drinks. I decided to try out a 160z chocolate protein shake and added peanut butter to it. I was so happy at the fact that it was only 175 calories!!!! My little cousin let me taste the Wookie Punch he got and it was super refreshing. Everything on the menu has a good calorie count and I really appreciated that it was next to each one. The only issue I had was the price, I am the daily starbucks drinker who doesn't think twice about spending $5 everyday but paying $8 for a 16oz(smallest size) seemed like way too much. I've been to mingle multiple times and this last time just really disappointed me. I ordered it online and went to pick it up due to COVID. I usually get the blue monday, and requested for there to be peanut butter in it as well, which is an extra charge. Once I opened up my bowl no peanut butter was found and the açaí was soup. I ordered my smoothie online and after 20 minutes, it was not yet ready. I then went inside to check and figured they might have forgotten to put my order number on the window. But I discovered that my order was still not ready. I called the store to ask about the status of my order, I figured they might be understaffed or backed up on orders. Immediately, the worker gave me attitude and told me that she saw me go in and out of the store and that my order was in the cooler for pick up. I went back inside and there was only one order there but it was not mine. I was standing there when all of a sudden, I heard a voice say "Thank you!" I kept standing there and then a person finally came out from behind and questioned me. She asked me if I had gotten my order and I said "my order is number seven and that's order number four." She gave me attitude and she did not believe that I had placed my order online. When she asked to see the confirmation email I became excited because now she had no choice but to believe me. When I showed her the confirmation email, the nasty attitude was immediately gone. She went from 100 to 0 real quick. She went and made my smoothie and within 2 minutes, I had finally received my order. She apologized and said these types of errors never happen. The smoothie itself was delicious but I wish there was no nasty attitude involved and I wish she had believed me. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe people try to scam their way into a free smoothie but being nasty solves nothing. I'll come back, but in a few months. read more
