He developed severe clinical depression and suicidal ideation over the time he spent under her care. I believe her misdiagnosis of his condition was what perpetuated this situation. She also withheld suicide plans on several occasions when my child was a minor. Despite my misgivings on her treatment and with other psychiatrists doubting her diagnosis, he wanted to stay with her and did for 6 more years, claiming that she was helping. It took him moving away from Houston and an intervention session to discover the damage.

However, people need to be able to still find a good therapist and if you don't know what to look for, this can be a starting point. The reason I chose them is because I liked the varied levels of experience. For me an LPC Associate is no different from an LPC, but you get to choose. Each therapist shares a little bit about themselves and their background to help you decide which is the right fit.
