The coaches actually teach technique -- footwork, combinations, defense, conditioning -- and they push you to improve every class. The training is legit. You'll hit heavy bags, do partner drills, conditioning, and learn real striking fundamentals. Some people here compete, so the level can getg serious if you want it to. But beginners are still welcome and the coaches help you learn from the ground up. The environment is motivating and the workouts are tough. Expect to sweat a lot and be sore, but you'll get in shape fast and actually learn how to fight, not just "work out." If you want: Real kickboxing Muay Thai Boxing Conditioning Serious training with good coaches This is a solid gym to train at. Try the free trial and see if it's for you.

Once you've mastered the basics, their advanced classes provide the perfect environment to continue learning, growing, and testing your skills. What sets Smash apart from other gyms I've trained at is the strong sense of community. I met a lot of amazing people, both students and coaches, and the camaraderie there is unmatched. It wasn't until I moved away from the South Bay and trained at other gyms that I fully appreciated how special Smash is. While other gyms are good, they simply don't compare to the experience I had with Coach Rudi, Jose, Tristan, and the rest of the team. If I ever move back to the South Bay, or even just visit, I'll definitely drop by for a session.

My chiropractor recommended I try Pilates for my back and neck problems, so I reached out to Mercy for a consultation. I had never done reformer Pilates before, so the first six lessons were one-on-one. Mercy is very attentive and knowledgeable and always knew what I needed. I sit for most of the day, and she knew immediately that my hips were tight. She also always asks if there is anything you'd like to work on specifically, and she always delivers. The environment is also really comfortable. Her dogs Joules and Lulu are such darlings.

Eventually, my physical therapist kept recommending Pilates to me, and I searched the area for a Pilates instructor who could help me. I called Mercy around June 2023, and Mercy replied that she has worked with individuals with mild to severe conditions and believes she could help me. Although I was reluctant to trust any form of exercise, after two months of pilates sessions with her ONLY once a week, I started noticing more significant changes to my abilities, which was not getting changes from physical therapy. Mercy works on your WHOLE body; it's a holistic approach to bringing your body the best stability so you can do what you want and move how you need to. I've noticed many changes and learned many things about joints, my nervous system, etc. This is also coming from someone who experiences nerve pain, which is I'm sure if you experienced, not fun at all. Almost a year later, I'm moving much better, all thanks to Mercy's guidance. Her expertise and dedication have been instrumental in my recovery, and I feel deeply grateful to have found such a supportive and impactful person. Also lulu and meka are the CUTEST

Get ready to have the body you've always dreamed of!!!…read more I had been wanting to get back in shape for some time, but I was extremely intimated to go to a gym and not know exactly what to do . So when I found out about One by One Fitness , I was thrilled by the idea of having someone there to guide me in the right direction . My trainer, Eugene, has been there every step of the way to help me figure out a nutrition plan that works for me as well as a workout routine . He is not only very knowledgeable about what he is doing but he is always there to cheer me on and help me stay motivated . He has really helped me push past what I thought were my limits ! This experience has been by far one of the best one I've had. I've been training there since November of 2018 and I have already seen some extreme changes in by physical appearance but also my overall health . I've lost a total of 20 pounds so far, gained a lot of muscle and my energy levels are through the roof! I wouldn't train anywhere else . If you're looking for an amazing trainer and some challenging work outs , One by One Fitness is you're place !!!!

Trained w/ppl here of all avenues of fitness & the gym added a functional training room w/new equipment which is very nice(imo). Bags, BB machines, kettle bells & rope pulls, etc.. A couple of fixes needed: 1.The mens restroom far stall which sticks to close & doesn't have a lock. 2.Mirror by far end Leg Room, squat rack has been cracked for sometime. 3. Imo the showers were under whelming. Hot water could be hotter. More hooks & shelves to rack shampoo & dry clothes would be nice but space is very limited. I wasn't working full-time yet when I first joined in March 2021 so price wise I was looking for something under $200/mo to get in 2-3x/wk. I enjoyed the Tuesday/Thursdays at 8:30AM with Jenn and the crowd. It was a lively course and no matter how challenging the workout was, the group would enjoy a morning jog. As I progressed through the months I had the pleasure of working with Rose, Margaret, Vito, and Dwayne. All coaches hosted the class with enthusiasm and would cheer EVERYONE on. Every movement in CrossFit can be modified to accommodate injuries. OTF vs CFM I used to take OrangeTheory Fitness (OTF) courses and really enjoyed my time there. However between the franchise gym and CFM, I choose CFM for their management of new members and no show / cancellation policy. At OTF I was stressed about signing up for class on time, vs at CFM they don't oversaturate new members which gives current members priority to join the class times they want. At OTF many current members are also enrolling in classes even if they MIGHT not make it because of how saturated it is. If you don't cancel 8h before class, you have a fee. At CFM esp during evening hours you have time to decide if you will make it to class. Their cancellation policy is 3h before class. Whether it be CFM or another gym, I look forward to returning to CrossFit hopefully in the spring.
