While you would expect a yoga studio to foster an environment of serenity, instead Cynthia was manic and agitated. There was little focus on the students and rather seemed as though she wanted to use the class to vent to us, telling random stories and anecdotes and just in general being dismissive or borderline rude when responding to students. Maybe she was having a bad day, but it was certainly not the experience that i am looking for and i will definitely be avoiding this studio in the future.

Emily was our instructor and once again made the class such a welcoming and encouraging environment. One of the main things I appreciate for the way she teaches is suggestions on how to alter certain movements if you aren't able to elongate/reach full flexibility. I've surprised myself with certain movements as Emily proposes ways you're able to extend body parts to eventually achieve the full elongation. This is your sign to book a class

I've seen instructors let people in up to 5+ minutes late and keep the class 5 minutes over without issue and felt that this was unfair on the whole. The worse part yet was that the instructor came out to tell us 10+ minutes after us waiting that because we were late, we were not welcome tonight...further rubbed salt to the wound by saying she had waited until 8:02 pm. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you intend to experience an inconsistency of the rules used based on favoritism and being a known regular member of the community. Small detail that goes a long way in a customer based business like yoga.

I can't stress enough on how thorough she is in her teachings. She is quite passionate about spreading the hatha yoga practice. I recommend her to everyone interested in learning yoga. If you are wondering where you should go to be introduced to what proper yoga is, have no doubts and just give her a call or send her a message. She is prompt with her messages and make herself accessible to you over the phone in case you have questions about the practice. Try learning from her and see for yourself. The effects are profound. My energy levels are up, I feel way calmer - I wasn't even aware of how stressed out I was before I started doing the practice. The practice brings about changes from within. It makes you aware of every moment: I didn't even realise how mindlessly I would perform every single task all day long. Now all that has changed. My favorite instructors are Diana and Taylor - both their classes feel challenging and are a great workout! The facility is very clean and includes a bathroom, storage area, and a water station. At first, I was worried about leaving my stuff since there are no locks, but haven't had any issues so far! The check in process is seamless through an iPad and there's usually someone at the from desk if you have any questions. The yogasix app is really easy to use, so booking classes is a breeze. The only feedback I have is that the cancellation period feels really strict. You need to cancel within 8 hours of the class which feels extremely long and is a lot less flexible than other workout classes. This is the biggest pain point for me and I wish it was shorter. As far as I know, this applies to ALL yogasix studios and is not unique to this location.

Be prepared to reinvent your relationship with your yoga practice…read more Rebel Rise is probably the only yoga studio I have been to that pays respects to the ancient practice and has a huge emphasis on community, all the while deepening and strengthening one's practice. The community here is like no other; the staff and practitioners are genuinely kind and welcoming and there is little space for ego here. The instructors are highly knowledgeable about the asanas and will offer you new ways to engage in your practice, such as making minor adjustments or putting you into proper alignment that will improve your poses like no other. Through engagement, awareness, and reminders to honor your body where it's at (listening to what it needs vs thinking about what you should look like), the instructors guide you to a feeling of fulfillment and relief and an overall appreciation of the sacred temple you call your body. I highly recommend Rebel Rise Studios for anyone that is looking to go deeper into their practice and for anyone seeking that mind-body connection. Definitely give this place a try with an open beginner's mind.
