Our meal was made up of fried brussels sprouts, grilled artichoke hearts and a pastrami sandwich. The food is prepared and made to order so it was delivered to us nice warm and freshly made. Scott, my dining partner, tried one of the IPAs on tap. I on the other hand tried their distilled vodka. They have two varieties one is a regular distilled vodka and the other is citrus. The summer food truck series is great because it is an additional incentive to get people to come out and experience the ranch for the first time. There has been some fantastic Mexican food, burgers, Balinese, ice cream, and many others. The whiskey tasting is very special because you get to learn about what you're drinking from the people who actually made it. The distillery tour is fascinating because it is a working facility and you get to see real whiskey being made. Standing in the rock house makes you realize how the climate affects the whiskey aging process. In the winter, it is very cool with the scent of Oak. In the summer, it is warm and you still smell the oak, but the evaporating alcohol is very strong. There is always a special release whiskey available in addition to their usual production whiskeys. This trip I was able to get a single barrel 100% wheat. As always, it is amazing!
