It's been a few years since I saw Dr. Sholes. I went to see her for a tune-up to help me get through some personal issues I'm dealing with. I went to see Dr. Sholes over a year ago to help me deal with deep emotions I was having after loosing loved ones, anxiety, stress and other stuff I was trying to cope with. I was initially a bit skeptical about some of her techniques, but found that they really did work. She was able to get to the heart of some of my issues surrounding natural childbirth in very short order -- stuff that could have taken weeks of therapy -- and was able to help me resolve/overcome them (again, without weeks of therapy). Cannot recommend Dr. Cindy enough! I went to see her for anxiety that I've had for decades. After 8 sessions, my anxiety is improved enormously. She uses something called NET Neuro Emotional Technique, and I've found it tremendously effective. Doctor Cindy has a big talent for helping to zero in on what's really going on. I can't tell you how amazing it is to wake up every day and not have that anxiety grinding away at me. I would imagine everyone is different in how many sessions you might need to see results. I needed all eight sessions. It's nice to know this is a resource, and I intend to go back and do further work in the future. I went to Cynthia Sholes for help losing weight using hypnotherapy. I had been trying to lose weight for years and kept losing and gaining the same 20 pounds. In my desperation, I finally decided to try an 'alternative therapy.' I went to Dr. Sholes in the fall of 2006 and saw her for about 5 or 6 sessions. I lost 20 pounds gradually from eating right and exercising. Hypnotherapy helped to reinforce all the good habits that I knew I should follow, such as eating well-balanced meals, having healthy snacks and exercising regularly. Dr. Sholes also gave sound nutritional advice and useful tips. She made cds of our sessions so I could listen to them at home. There were also cds you could purchase that addressed issues such as 'Eating with Awareness.' It has been almost 2 1/2 years and I have lost almost 30 pounds since I initially went to Dr. Sholes. More importantly, I have maintained my weight and have not 'yo-yo-d' back and forth. I plan on losing another 10 pounds and feel confident that I will reach my goal. I still listen to the cds when I plateau or need some encouragement. I highly recommend trying hypnotherapy because it helped me to be fit and healthy as I enter my 50's. read more

Be warned - she may be a scam artist I wanted some help to quit smoking using hypnosis. The first session was ok, but as I was waking up and still in a suggestible state of mind she tried repeatedly to sell me some herbal supplements. I thought that was a little sketcy. On the second visit things got weird. Instead of the simple hypnotherapy, we did some kind of biofeedback technique that I am pretty sure was fake. She started asking about some deep, private feelings, and having me re-live them. I got pretty upset but she reassured me that she could "cleanse" me of these negative emotions. I got more upset and I said, "I don't want to do this anymore." She replied, "It's going to be ok, just let me spray something under your tongue." That was a little bit scary as she doesn't know what I am allergic to or what medications i am taking. I though it was irresponsible of her to dispense anything without getting a medical history. I walked out at that point. The even bigger problem is that I just wanted simple hypnotherapy to help me quit smoking. I paid for two session but only got one. She made me uncomfortable as well. I was very upset when I left her office. I would not go back. read more

Dr. Cyndi is a miracle worker! I've had a serious bout of anxiety and depression for a year. I've tried a therapist, medication, acupuncture, mindfulness classes, a partial hospitalization 7 weeks, 6 hour a day group therapy program and all those rolled into one couldn't help me as much as Dr. Cyndi has! I purchased Dr. Sholes's expensive 650.00 session during the summer for my son. I want Dr. Shole's to use hypnotherapy to reduce anxiety. I wanted him to stop xbox addiiction before school starts. She promissed me that I will notice the significant change in whole school work attitude. In addition to the session, she try to sell him expensive gummy vegetable and fruits substitute. I started working with Dr. Sholes 6 years ago. I went to her because I work with a lot of professionals and was having difficulty talking to physicians. She was able to not only make that process much easier but I continued to work with her off and on over a year or so.
