If this review were based on skill alone, she'd get five stars hands down. But for the part that makes me write an update and removes me from giving her 5 stars: Jamila cannot stop upselling. Every visit turns into a small negotiation. She'll pitch you every service and skin treatment under the sun even after you've politely declined, most times twice or three times before giving up. She doesn't take a hint, verbal or otherwise. She also tends to "forget" returning clients when it's time to charge. The first-time brow price is $15, and the upkeep price is $13. But if you don't remind her that you are a RETURNING CUSTOMER, she'll happily start from scratch on what you owe her. I shouldn't have to keep track of my own loyalty discount, but here we are. The many times I've visited, to pretend like she doesn't remember me is annoying. Get punch cards or SOMETHING so you'll stop doing this to customers. To be fair, she's not mean-spirited...she's just a relentless hustler. I get it, we're all trying to survive. But there's a fine line between being ambitious and making your clients feel like walking wallets. Your work is good enough to speak for itself. You don't need to chase every dollar. Let your service do the talking. Let clients come to YOU with their needs instead of you pushing off onto them what they should have. No one should feel obligated to pay for services they simply do not want and you pointing out flaws is not the answer. Sorry. Until I find someone as talented (and a little less pushy), I'll keep coming back... but girl, please, just do the work requested and let customers breathe. Four stars.

The lady doing my eyebrows heard me and respected that. She took her time, was vigilant, and did a good job with my eyebrows. She was thorough with the upper lip threading, and used a technique that made it feel less painful than usual. They charge $16 for eyebrows and upper lip threading which I found fairly reasonable / on par with other salons in the area.

The cost was $11.00. In Washington state, threading shops were prevalent. They were virtually on every corner of the city and very inexpensive as well. My threader did a good job. I'd never had henna done before, but after Nisha completed her design on my hand, I was seriously contemplating getting it permanently tattooed! I love how quick and talented Nisha is. She worked through a busy lineup of first-time clients at this year's event, and not a single design was replicated. Since there were a lot of first timers to henna, I DO wish Nisha provided a small aftercare instruction card so clients can preserve their temporary keepsake for as long as possible. Pro tip: Don't get it wet, don't pick at it, and keep it sealed using a DIY lemon & sugar solution. You'll thank me later! Depending on how well you follow the aftercare, henna can last anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.

Very sweet girl. When she was done I asked her to add a little volume to the top of my flat head and without hesitation she did that and once she was all done, I LOVED it! Very happy with Charlotte who by the way added me to her Monday schedule when it's super difficult to find someone! Also very happy with Jenn who was very prompt in returning my email. She also worked with my schedule because I work nights and I need the latest appointment available so I'm sure she had to coordinate with Charlotte. I had to change one of my choices because I went out on a date with my husband and she was sweet telling me to have a great night with him.
