I couldn't have been more happy with all three of my wedding looks (sangeet, wedding, and reception) and my bridal henna. Leena and her team are SO kind, professional, and listened to my idea and concerns. I also live in NYC and my wedding was in Dripping Springs, Tx but Leena was always available by phone or email and accommodated my schedule (especially through COVID) when I came to Texas for my trial. I have extremely sensitive skin (prone to breakouts, redness, itching with certain products, large pores, oily skin). Leena actually sat down with me and walked me through all her products and her technique. This really put me at ease because I was very nervous that the makeup would look caked on or just not sit well on my skin since I don't wear a lot of makeup normally. She also helped me choose which eye shadow color and lipstick would complement my outfits, which was very helpful. I ended up buying my own foundation and setting powder after the foundations we tried didn't work well (the products are well known brands-- it was just because of my extremely sensitive skin that I decided to purchase it on my own). For hair and mehendi, I simply had to show her pictures of what I wanted and it came out perfectly! There are fees added on for travel, depending on where your wedding is, as well as for dupatta and saree draping, but in the grand scheme of things it is worth it to have a trusted hair/makeup/mehendi artist at your side on your big day! If you have a vision in mind of what you want, Leena will definitely work with you to make it happen. If you have any concern, Leena will address it right away and will make sure you are happy. Leena is an amazing makeup and Henna artist. She was recommended by our wedding planner and my daughter loved the two looks she gave her for the wedding and reception. She is good with what she does and we loved it. Though ,few things left a bad taste in my mouth . Her packages are very expensive and on top of that she charges 100's of dollar for local travel for each visit for her and her artist which really adds up. My suggestion would be to lower that charge for local travel from $100 to $35 as it does not cost that much for local travel . Other thing that concerned me was paying same amount for retouch for another look on the same day, she should charge less for retouch not for full makeup as it requires less effort. Leena was flexible as i needed to update the package coz of Covid many guests were not able to make it and she did let me do that which was much appreciated but then she took off the discount she gave in the original contract and added more travel fee on top of that which we didn't feel good about but had no other option as we had signed the contract. I would surely recommend Leena but would like them to know of the things above before they sign the contract. read more

Many bridal make up artists make you look like someone completely different. Leena makes you look like a more perfected version of what you actually look like. She did my wedding make up after a bridal trial where we discussed everything I liked and didn't like. Unlike most Indian brides, I only got one "look" for the whole day. I showed her both outfits and sets of jewelry and she found a way to make a look that would go with both outfits and last all day. She even suggested an eye shadow I could buy to put on myself after she left that would be a simple way to add something different to my evening look. Her team also did my bridesmaids and mother's hair, and a few of their makeups. They were efficient and finished ahead of schedule! Everyone looked so beautiful. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with Singar Studio and I feel anyone who is considering booking Singar Studio for their wedding makeup should be aware of how unprofessional and dishonest this company is. At the time of booking, Leena said a "senior artist" may or may not be assigned in her place. We expected that Leena would let us know in advance of her plans if she would not be the one to do my makeup. For 8 months, Leena never gave a straight answer to my mom about whether she would be available. Leena said she had already booked her trip to India and yet refused to say which day it was, pretending not to know if it was the day of my wedding or the day after. Leena did not give a straight answer until three weeks before my wedding. At this point, it was too late to even look for another makeup artist. I had no choice but to trust the senior artist and trust Leena's statements about how she specially trained this woman. I was disappointed that Leena that withheld this information from us for so long and only let us know until it was too late to find anyone else. I believe this was a ploy on her part to make sure she secured our business. Leena asked me to send her a profile of pictures of myself with no makeup, hairstyles I liked, makeup styles, and dupatta styles so that she could design a look for me to train the senior stylist on. I was disappointed and confused when I met with Leticia the day of and she seemed to know nothing about this profile and brought other images with her that looked like screenshots from Instagram that Leena had sent her. She knew nothing about what dupatta drape I had requested or what hairstyle I had picked. I am not sure why Leena wasted my time having me make a profile. It was clear that Leena had not designed any specific look for me. Leena also refused to show us any reviews of this artist beforehand and provided a rather ridiculous analogy saying, "Do you have to know who the chef is every time you go to a restaurant?" It was absurd to compare her makeup business to a restaurant. It turned out that the woman that Leena sent is not her "most senior artist" but a freelance makeup artist that does South Asian bridal makeup on the side. I found Leticia's website later. She charges nearly 1/3th of the price that Leena charges her brides. Leena puts up an elaborate façade that makes it seem like she has an entire staff of artists at her side when in reality she finds other artists to work on contract for her. Moreover, this makeup artist arrived almost an hour late because Leena's husband, Tushar, had provided her with the wrong address for the hotel, sending the artist all the way to another city that was 30 miles away. I feel a mistake of this magnitude is inexcusable. The bride's location is one of the most basic details and it seemed like it was treated as an afterthought. To make up for this, Leena sent an assistant to speed up the makeover process. The overall makeover was an unpleasant ordeal because I could tell they were both stressed. You really don't want your makeup team to be in a rush on your wedding day, especially due to a heinous miscommunication from the company. Among these many unprofessional behaviors, Leena did not remember how much we paid her for the deposit (most business should keep detailed records of this) and we had to search my mom's bank records to find out the amount. She repeatedly tried to make my mom look like a forgetful and scatterbrained person, lying and saying she told my mom long ago that she would not be my artist, saying that my mom is likely to forget things. It was truly insulting to have her speak like that about my family and blatantly lie in order to save face. I liked the makeover that Leticia did for me, but I feel that I owe not one bit of that gratitude to Leena. I do not think it is right to misrepresent your business to make it seem like you have a team of stylists and makeup artists who have been specially trained by you when in reality you contract out jobs and charge way more than the freelance artist in order to pocket the difference. Furthermore, to pretend that she specially designed my look based on a profile she wastefully made me create when in reality she found pictures on Instagram, was another form of misrepresentation. To run a business efficiently and credibly, some attention to detail is required but they do not seem to possess even a basic amount of it at Singar Studio. Their complete lack of organization was extremely frustrating for us. Singar Studio puts on a pretense of being a professional team of makeup artists when in reality they are a disorganized duo who are extremely unprofessional and misrepresent many facets of their business. read more

Leena did an amazing job for both of my days. We went for two very different looks for my mehndi and reception. I am originally from Pakistan and wanted Pakistani bridal look. I showed her the type of looks I wanted and she did a really good job of giving me the look I wanted. On the day of the wedding she changed a few things from the trial because she had a better idea of the outfits and everything. I also got my engagement makeup done from her and I loved what she did. She is a perfectionist but at the same time she always asked me if I was satisfied with the look or not. Her work is phenomenal but above all she is a wonderful human being. I booked Singar Studio for my wedding and I loved Leena! She is incredibly talented at hair and makeup and truly made me feel like a princess. To begin with, she very graciously moved dates with us two times because we rescheduled our wedding weekend due to the pandemic. BEWARE! DECEPTIVE PRICES!! Before signing the contract, I scheduled a trial with Leena. A week prior to the appointment I sent my ideal makeup and hair sample pictures along with my bridal dress pictures, since my dress was not ready for pick up. Leena was courteous and has good make up skills. However, she doesn't honor her quoted prices which is handled by her husband. This was frustrating and upsetting especially after I had my $100 trial paid for and ready to execute the contract. I was initially quoted $350 for bridal HMU but later upon requesting the contract, it went up by $50. The price hikes were never communicated before in the emails or phone conversation. They alleged that the samples pictures were elaborate however, they never mentioned this at any point before, during or after trial but only upon requesting the contract that they brought this to my attention. I found this to be very deceiving and unethical especially when I sent my sample looks a week prior to the trial. I am baffled to know how they conduct their business based on such deceptive trade practices and taking advantage of brides on a budget. They never explained what constituted as an elaborate look? I repeatedly inquired and the only explanation I got was that the artist went over the designated time so I have to pay for her time. I pointed out that my hair trial was incomplete and there were other family disruptions. The back half of my hair were left untouched and only discussed as how it would look on the Day Of. This constituted as an incomplete hair trial however, out of courtesy I was okay with that even though the whole point of a trial was to determine a final look for the Wedding Day to make it efficient. Additionally, its very unprofessional that they are finger pointing at the client for going over time with an incomplete trial. A customer shouldn't be assigned responsibility for going over time especially when they are not in control of performing such services; it depends on the make-up artist how fast and efficiently they fulfill their duties. My advice to the Brides to be, PLEASE BEWARE for such practices and make sure you have clear communications in WRITING with them in case they go back on their words and don't honor their quotes. I wouldn't recommend them. read more

Leena and her crew are absolutely INCREDIBLE. We used Leena for all 4 of my events (Hindu ceremony, Sangeet, Sikh Ceremony & Reception) + for my mehndi. During my wedding week, Leena did everything she could to make me feel comfortable -- she made me feel at ease throughout the entire week (and let me sleep while getting ready at 4:30am each morning!).
