I was pleasantly surprised to get an appointment scheduled in the next two weeks with Dr. Chang. Ester who is the office administrator then called me back after a few days and asked if I could make an earlier visit due to another cancellation. I arrived this afternoon at their Hawaii Kai Corporate Center. There is ample parking and a nice short stroll through the beautifully landscaped grounds to their office. I was asked to fill out some forms then was called into the exam rooms by Sung who is one of the medical assistants there. She was very friendly and pleasant. She explained all of the tests and procedures she was performing on me for the eye exams. Dr. Chang is very professional, explained everything about my exam to me in detail and asked if I had any questions. The office is spacious with a friendly staff of assistants. I had a very good visit to Eye Doctors Hawaii and will highly recommend Dr. Chang and his staff for anyone needing eye health services.

Dr. Matsuyama was very thorough on eye examination, clear about my eye conditions, sincere by asking how I was feeling, patient even being bombarded with multiple questions and answered in the way I can understand. She also gave me information of how to care for dry eye conditions at home. It really worked best, much better than eye drops! Her cheerfulness and professionalism really impressed me! I have always been pleased with Dr. Portis. Not only does he have impressive credentials, he really is super smart, he's kind (with that dry sense of humor I appreciate!), and he LISTENS! I've had my share of eye and other medical concerns over the years. He has always taken them seriously and never brushes me off. His office staff is always friendly and accommodating. Debbie does a great job fitting me with the latest in designer frames! I never have a problem contacting them like some doctor offices. I always leave Dr. Portis and his office feeling positive and well-informed. They are conveniently located in The Queen's Medical Center, and parking is great. In particular, Jon Portis Ophthalmologist is a popular, trusted and well-respected doctor. Fortunately, my piano student's mother is a doctor who referred me to Dr.Portis, so my husband Jeff is also likely to undergo cataract surgery with him. Today was our first visit, he did a lot of tests, and everything went smoothly with the guidance of the staff. Also, the doctor carefully listened to my husband's story and set up a treatment plan. I think it is very important for patients facing surgery to understand their condition, treatment options, risks and benefits. Dr. Portis did a good job of explaining these things. . Well, this doctor, apparently he is a professional photographer and many of his works are displayed in the waiting room. When I look at these wonderful works, I forget that it's a hospital! So at less than 2 months old I made an appointment with Dr Young office The initial call was amazing, the receptionist quickly got me an appointment was very through and extremely courteous!! That true aloha spirit! Office was easy to find at Kapiolani Medical Center physicians building (hospital side, old side not that ew fancy side) elevators right next to the pharmacy and coffee shop. Parking is not free here, you can do self park or valet, I always opt for valet cus the prices aren't that much different than self park, so why bother when you have a baby to carry lol Waiting area was very large to accommodate families, had a beautiful seating area, toys and a tv playing Disney movies to keep the kids occupied Our nurse was awesome extremely careful and very patient!!
