However, behind the slightly crass exterior lurks a genuinely enjoyable Indian restaurant which my boyfriend (who lives nearby)raves about. What makes the Pearl of India so enjoyable is the way the staff makes you feel like a valuable regular, even if this is your first visit. The level of attention given to customers can be slightly overwhelming at times. After briefly hinting that he was thinking of going to the restaurant for Christmas dinner, my boyfriend's dad found himself harranged by three members of staff, a diary book and a selection of Christmas menus for a good twenty minutes, before having to ask them (politely) to leave him alone. Perhaps he should have expected it really - he was probably the only person to query having Christmas dinner here (what about turkey & all the trimmings?!) As far as the food goes, it has quite simply the one of the finest chicken pakora in Glasgow and that alone is worth the trip! Yum yum.

I ordered: tandoori chicken - this comes with gravy sauce. That must be a UK/Scottish thing because I've never had tandoori chicken with gravy before. The chicken was tasty and a really big portion for the price - two large pieces of chicken for £8.95. I also got sides of baby aubergine with potato and saag paneer which were both lovely. Again, the sizes were pretty good for sides and would definitely do 2-3 people as a side. Other extras I got were: poppadum, raita, rice, spicy onions. They included a tub of salad as well as an extra rice which was good. All up, I was impressed with the food - piping hot when it arrived, good portions, tasty and plenty of leftovers for my lunch today. Delivery through justeat is £2.50 and came right on the time they estimated. I'd definitely order from here again.

Everything was spot on - the poppadoms were maybe slightly chewy in the middle but all the rest was pretty much perfect. Korma had subtle heat and definite signs of fresh herbs , pakora was fresh and crunchy....it was all good AND I got ten percent off because I "liked" them on Facebook (so its good for something then!!!!).

Beer prices around average for an Indian restaurant. The keema naan was really nice though, with a proper layer of keema in the middle of the naan. The mince vindaloo was also very tasty, really hot too. However the Tikka Masala looked very similar to the korma which was slightly off-putting. In a city full of very good and excellent Indian restaurants, I'm afraid I can't recommend Little India - however it's decent enough.

I do it all the time:/ Well today I decided to forget "new and cool" and pop in for a £4.90, 2 course lunch deal. Pakora and a curry with accompaniment for £4.90! Pretty good deal for the cost of a soup and a sandwich in some places. Have to say the food was well prepared and delicious and the service was more than adequate, so I'll have no hesitation returning... :)

The set meal for two includes: 2 poppadoms & spice onion and then you choose your starter from vegetable pakora, chicken pakora or chicken chaat plus two curries and two sides. We got chicken chasni and chicken tandoori masala as well as pilau rice and naan bread. The driver got a little lost but phoned us for directions so that wasn't an issue. I was really impressed with the food and can't fault it - everything was really fresh and delicious. Personally I'm not a huge chasni fan but Graeme really liked that, and there was a tonne of food so we had leftovers for lunch today. All up, it cost around £20 including delivery and I would definitely order from here again.

After booking via Twitter, which was very easy, we were warmly welcomed and had our jackets stored for us. Every member of staff was really friendly and chatty and they made us feel like we'd been coming for years. We ordered off the pre-theatre menu and I had mixed pakora to start. 2 pieces of chicken, veg and mushroom accompanied by excellent red and pink pakora sauce. It was all really fresh and very tasty. Good pakora! For the main I had a chicken phaal, which wasn't on the pre-theatre but they entertained my spice requirements. It came out on a sizzling skillet which was very fancy, and it was lovely. I think the waiters were waiting for me to start crying or sweating at least, but I can handle my hot food! It was definitely spicy but not too hot. I might ask for a bit more next time! We managed to fit in dessert (for a measly extra pound) and it was excellent. Gulab jamin with premium vanilla ice cream was excellent, as was the pistachio kulfi.
