I've been getting a lot of take outt food recently due to my kitchen getting work done, this little gem nestled between the existing Chinese /chip shop/convenience store bit of Fenwick road Is seriously good cooking, if you are a fan of mother India I'd say you will love this place, they have an excellent set meal for one which consists of a starter, including chicken pakora, main and an accompaniment i.e. rice or Nan,it comes in at an astonishing £9.95 and would feed 2 easier with the addition of an extra rice/ bread, sadly I didn't take a pic but the chicken pakora portion was huge, around 10 large pieces, really crisp and fresh, not reheated I'd say,I was very impressed, could only eat less than half of it,there was actually as little pot of spiced onions and a poppadum too. The main course, a chicken bhuna, I thought I'd go for a basic curry first before trying specials was outstanding, I was totally different from the usual " Glasgow curry sauce" ,type dish, again freshly cooked chicken, you can just tell, not boiled and added to sauce, fresh herbs, good spicing with layers of flavour unfolding not just heat,it was simply brilliant. I've not stayed in this area for long,I'm a competent curry maker but between this and the other place near me that I've reviewed i don't think il be bothering to grind spices, fry onions etc for ages, when I can have it done for me,as good as this. read more
