Just yes yes yes. Was on vacation in Glasgow and my group of friends and I were exhausted. We just knew we wanted to try Indian food in Glasgow. It was so incredibly good. Such good food And service! Ordered lamb tikka, mutter paneer, and sweet chili prawn puri and would eat them over and over again. We stopped in on the recommendation of a local friend after five hours of travel and, due to our sleepy haze, ordered the wrong thing. We asked to change our order about a minute after placing it and the server was so patient and helpful. We tried three dishes we'd never tried before and, when combined with their delicious naan, we were in absolute heaven. I tried the Shashlik Lamb Kebab for the first time last night :) And it was delicious ! It comes with mushrooms , onion , peppers & tomato & sauce . A healthy option & a wee change trying something you have never had before on the menu ! My mother told me about it & she does have taste ! :) It was succulent & full of flavour . Definitely get it again ! I must say Chillies West End is my favourite for Asian food so far ! The manager served me and is always pleasant . I've heard people mention Chillies numerous times now on Yelp nights out. Happened to be walking past Thursday night as an alternative to Asia Style and decided to give it a go. Pretty quiet and no hassles in getting a table. Server was lovely and friendly, even putting up with my bad banter on recommendations for dishes and portions etc. Had chicken tikka starter, fish pakora and mince samosa. Samosa pastry was a little dry and pakora batter quite thick, but all flavours were nonetheless delicious, apart from quite large bones Fiona always seems to find in hers! Opted for more main courses to try as much as possible. Chicken saag to compare with The Dens, Goan chicken, Aubergine curry and lamb biriyani. Aloo Paratha and chapattis. Chicken saag was delicious, but still not as good as the Dens. Goan chicken was more like sweet chilli chicken. Aubergine was amazing, as was the paratha. Closest to taste to my own and beautifully crispy as I asked for. Bizarrely, my chapattis were all cut into four.. no idea why as they should be kept whole or folded over to keep heat in. Lamb biriyanis flavours were simply beautiful. The only thing that let it down was the lamb being slightly tough. Without fail, we never finished half of it off, so had it following day. Despite not being swamped, it took an age to get table cleared and request it be bagged up. No one either, came over to ask how the meal was during or after. A little let down on the service side. All in all. A great wee place, but not good enough for me to choose it over firm favorites. Recommend the service be a little more thoughtful and lamb be cooked longer for that tenderness. Have to say i'm a fan of this place. Having watched as Chillies the wee takeaway transformed into Chillies the restaurant i was pleasantly surprised by my first visit back as a "sit in" customer. They have retained the takeaway part of the business (you kind of walk through it as you go to the sitting area) but added a nicely decked out sitting area for around 50 ish covers. Food is served in a Tapas style which you feel kind of suits the Indian dishes,allowing you a decent sample of a number of dishes, and also saves you having to tuck into your dining partners plate for a cheeky taste. The grub is of a pretty high quality, try the Garlic Chilli Chooza...yum, with a good selection of meat, fish and vegi options. This review is based on their take away food only. Based on Pammi's recommendation, we ordered chicken kebabs for a healthy, quick dinner one night. They were fabulous! Served in a fluffy, thick naan, the chicken breast was tender and full of flavour. You get just enough salad (personally I'd like to see some cabbage or tomatoes in the mix) and the spicy sauce can be taken home in pots for you to add yourself. I was definitely glad of this, as the sauce is certainly spicy and it was nice to be able to taste this and add the amount I wanted. For £6 the chicken kebabs are great value in my opinion. Chillies is fab, have dined here many times and it's my go-to for Indian takeaway. The sit-in menu features mainly tapas style Indian dining, great for sharing and sampling many dishes and there's a huge variety to choose from. Their takeaway menu includes 'tapas thali's' which are great to share between 2-3 people. You choose three curries from the selection offered, and you also get roti, nan, two portions of rice (one pilau, one boiled), salad, raita, poppadoms and spiced onions. We usually get the vegetarian thali, which for under £17 is a pretty good deal. The food is superb and flavour-packed - my favourites are the saag paneer and the tarka daal. It's easy to see why Chillies has stamped its mark on the West End Indian food scene. After one particularly long morning studying in the library last May (otherwise known as revision hell) my boyrfriend and I decided to treat ourselves to a lunch far removed from our usual homemade packed-lunch soggy sandwhiches. Our meal was Indian style tapas and it was darn tasty. The menu is filled with lots of choice including Chicken, Lamb and Vegetable curries in degrees of spiciness. If you're veggy like me then there is a great selection. I had the Vegetable Biryani which was a mix of savoury rice with green chillies and vegetables, and the Spicy Olives which had some delicious sunblush tomatoes, feta and oregano sauce while the Saag Paneer (spinach with Indian cheese) was up there with one of the nicest Indian foods I have had in the UK. Having spent a significant amount of time in Sri Lanka and India, I was really impressed with the authenticity of the dishes. It's also good to know, this place does take-away! read more

Chillies West End is one of Glasgow's more unique curry establishments, and definitely one of the best. The concept of curry tapas is fairly unusual, and is more akin with the old Indian tradition of tiffin afternoon teas. Although it's a good shout for afternoon nibbles, arguably Chillies is best experienced on a cold winter's evening, since its cosy but contemporary decor and great selection of food will be sure to warm you up. The last time I visited Chillies the weather was still nippy (so that was probably a typical Glasgow springtime), and was as happy as ever with the service. The staff are very attentive in here, but also very laid back. Their relaxed and approachable attitude, combined with the dimmed lights, make it perfect for a nice chilled out evening date. I didn't know how filling the tapas would be, but if you order some of their gorgeous sides of Popadoms and Naan, you'll find that you can be satisfyingly full after a couple of dishes. I sampled the Karahi last time I was here, but their diverse menu gives both veggies and meat eaters a lot of choice when they're deciding what to order. Their menu is very detailed, with little chilli icons indicating how hot the dish will be. The staff are also very helpful if you have any allergies, or if you would like to request something that isn't listed on the menu. With such a wide range of food, varying from traditional to modern favour, Chillies has come a long way from being the high class of takeaway it once was. The food has gone from strength to strength over the years, and with the addition of the restaurant it can't fail to impress. The opening hours are fantastic, too. So as you can see my rating has decreased from 5 stars to 1. This saddens me greatly to do so as you will remember from my last review, I have been attending chillies since they were a small take out many years ago. I'm so disheartened by last night's dining experience and I think I now, i will not return there in the future. Valentine's day booking for 8pm. Now my partner and I go for a date night every second weekend, just so happened it fell on Valentine's day. We were a bit dubious going out on such a busy night but figured the service would be at it's highest etc. My partner had booked the table last week just to be sure we had one. I called before the reservation to let them know we were on our way, out of courtesy. When we arrived we were sorted quickly and started to look at the menu, this is when things started to go downhill. Within about 5 minutes 3 different staff members had asked for our order, we were clearly not ready yet however on the third request we ordered our starter and said to come back in 5 for the main. Not even 5 minutes past, far to fast to have cooked something fresh, our food was at the table menus still in hand. We gave our order, and as I was so rushed I forgot to ask for mine with extra chilli (completely my mistake) so instead I asked for chilli flakes which they didn't have so I asked for a chilli to be finely chopped so I could mix it in. The waitress said this would be fine. Again our food arrived far too fast to have been made to order and as we were eating the staff were being overly attentive. Each waitress checking up on us ever 15 minutes. Sometimes one after the other. When we finished our meals the plates were removed at the same speed as the day had so far. My boyfriend and I started to chat and before we had even considered desert the waitress came over to our table and said "my manager has just informed me that we need your table free in the next ten minutes to be ready for the next customers, as we are really busy tonight" Excuse me? Table was booked for 8pm and this was at 9.03pm. We have only been here for an hour and been told we need to leave. Suddenly everything made sense, and I knew exactly why our night had been rushed. We were completely mortified. When I was in the wash room my boyfriend said to the waitress that he couldn't believe that we were not told of any time limit on the table and they had the original booking and my check in call before we arrived to tell us. She said we would have received an email, which could not have happened as my partner didn't supply an email address. My boyfriend was so upset the rest of the night and it ruined our evening completely. My boyfriend then made the point of saying that a lot of people get engaged on Valentine's day, if he was going to propose there then his whole night would have been destroyed. I think this is the worse service I have received in such a long time. It being Valentine's day I understand everywhere is busy and the time limits put on tables, however this is something everyone should get prior notice of. read more

If you are looking for the best take away kebabs in Glasgow look no further!! The Nan bread kebabs, especially the mixed and chicken tikka ones are ace. I didn't even realise there was a takeaway to begin with as it looks like a large restaurant from the outside and I had walked past it many times, but on the left of the building is a dedicated takeaway section. The meats all taste delicious and have distinctive individual flavours unlike other ones I have tried where they all taste the same. The sauce is delicious and not overpowering and all in all it is pretty healthy if you just avoid the donner meat!! read more

I came here for dinner with my friend not long after they started offering BYOB - this was very appealing to us, sadly skint that we are, so we picked up a bottle of wine and headed over! We skipped starters and went straight to ordering a selection of tapas to share - all vegetarian as I couldn't force my friend to abandon her vegetarian lifestyle choices just because the tandoori meat looked so juicy! We had a potato and chickpea curry, amongst some delicious spicy aubergine and an absolutely sumptous slow-cooked black lentil dahl. The latter was by far the star of the show, and we ended up fighting over the last of it, armed with our naan and chapaties accordingly. The service was wonderful - attentive but not overly fawning, and our food came quickly and without any errors to note whatsoever. Moreso thatn anything else we were shocked at the price when the bill came - our whole meal - which was 4 dishes, a naan/chapatti each, poppadoms etc and corkage- came to just over £25!! For the quality of the food we had just eaten, we were bowled over by the price! The only thing I couldn't understand was why there were so few people dining there on the night we visited a few weeks ago - sure, it was during the week, but as far as Glasgow curry houses go, Chillies is right up there in quality and authenticness with Mother India on my list! This really is a fantastic place. The food is so fresh and very very tasty. Whenever we try something new from the menu we aren't disappointed.
