We've been meaning to visit here ever since it opened. I was dubious at first - the restaurant is split into two parts, one serving Indian food and the other part serving European food. So you'll find a bar & grill menu as well as an Indian menu which I think is a bit over the top.
It's a nice building from the outside and nicely decorated inside with a large bar area (where you can sit and watch the football, which I also think is weird as it doesn't really have a football pub vibe) and the restaurant space. On the right is the Indian restaurant but that is only open at night time, and we were there for lunch.
The lunch menu is 2 courses for £8 which is ridiculously cheap. Honestly, I expected the food to be really average for that price but thankfully I was wrong. I went for the mixed pakora to start and a chicken korma for my main. The lunch menu has these two options as well as options from the bar & grill menu like burgers, fish & chips and pasta. The pakora was excellent, really fresh, light and crispy and I enjoyed all the varieties (chicken, mushroom and vegetable). I liked the korma too although I would have chosen a different curry for next time I visit as it was a little on the sweet side for me.
The staff were friendly, the drinks were cheap and now that we've finally been, I can't wait to go back to try the Indian restaurant for dinner. read more
