This place used to be the Wee Curry Shop but I'm guessing to save confusion with the other restaurant/s of the same name they changed their name to Little Curry House. At first I was worried maybe the restaurant had changed ownership but I am very glad to say it hasn't and the lovely, friendly staff are still here. Also the menu and the brilliant Early Evening deal both are still very much the same.
The great Early Evening deal is 2 courses for £9.50 from 4pm - 7pm, Sun - Fri, which is really brilliant. There's always a really nice selection of curries and starters to choose from. We dine here fairly regularly and on our last visit I had the Chicken Tikka & Potato Pakora which is absolutely delicious and also you get a decent portion. For my main I had the Chicken Saag; a really tasty dish with lots of yummy spinach and a generous amount of chicken too. We also ordered boiled rice (to share) and a Garlic Naan. For drink I usually opt for a large bottle of Kingfisher (£4.50), there's no draught beer here so there's only an option of this or a (small/regular) bottle of Cobra (£2.85).
They change the EE menu so it's not always the same dishes and I've also had A La Carte and take away from here ~ not once have I ever been even remotely disappointed. The food is always to a high standard and the service is always friendly and swift.
Other dishes I've tried here which are also delicious are: Marinated Spiced Haddock, Aubergine Fritters, Green Herb Vegetable Pakora & Fish Pakora starters. Chilli Garlic Chicken, Lamb Karahi, Saag Paneer, Butter Chicken and another delicious lamb curry dish. All have been really really good. The only difference between ordering on the EE menu as opposed to the ALC is the smaller choice of dishes & the dishes themselves are a smidgen smaller, but not much. Portions in here are very generous anyway so I never leave hungry!
Great staff, great food, lovely open kitchen, cosy atmopshere (it isn't called 'Little' for nothing!) and great prices. Definitely one for you to try if you haven't already. read more
