They weren't rushed or annoyed about it either. The whole staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in, and I could tell right away that they take pride in what they do. Heidi, my pedicurist, was exceptional. She was kind, attentive, gentle and thorough, and she took her time with every step. I left absolutely (and literally) tickled lol. Clean, professional and really caring service. If you're anywhere near Meriden, this is the place to go, and ask for Heidi. I'll definitely be back.

I haven't gotten my nails done in a long time however I had gone quite frequently in the past to an amazing nail technician and place. One - it's very cold in there. Not too pleasant when you're sitting there for nails, and wearing fairly warm shoes. Two - the "quick dry" spray doesn't dry. Not to put your coat on isn't an option in the winter in New England. Having a place to dry your nails needs to be in place or atleast communicating to your client just sit here for x more minutes then we can check them. And lastly a smooth looking nail is expected when you pay for nails. I do my nails all the time at home the only different is that smooth finish you hope to achieve by a nail technician. The simple nail art did come out beautiful. Honestly, the salon itself is a no for me altogether with a less than average experience. I don't recommend it. I can be more specific of other issues but I honestly don't like leaving these kinds of reviews. I think the salon owner needs to pay more attention to details while there are far too many nail salons to choose from that capitalize on one of these issues. Maybe it was a bad first experience but i won't be returning.

I was happy to try Peony- when I walked in I was immediately greeted by smiling faces, and very polite staff. The inside is nicely decorated, has very nice gray colored walls with white trim. The layout is nice and open, and clean. The basins that they use for pedicures are nice, and I especially like that they use throw away, 1 time use plastic covers- so you don't have to put your feet into a basin that is just "wiped down." The polish selection is good, and they have all of them labeled with numbers, so it would make it easy to find "your polish" if you write down which one you used the last time you were there. I went in the middle of the day and I am currently VERY pregnant. The woman who took care of me was fabulous, I believe her name was Esther. She was polite, talked to me and engaged in conversation. She was especially nice when she painted little flowers onto my toes in honor of my "baby girl!" It was so sweet, and my toes came out great. Not only is the place clean and inviting, the staff is polite and they also are respectful. I also want to comment on the music- I am unsure what music they play but it is SO RELAXING. Not your typical "nail salon" music, it was so calming I almost fell asleep. They also give you a complimentary massage at the end while your nails dry. I would highly recommend Peony for their pedicures, and I will be back . :)

i hate to leave a negative review but paradise is so incredibly underwhelming that i feel it's just…read moreright to warn people. i do my own and other people's nails (gel and gel x) so im very familiar with proper gel techniques and nail hygiene. i come to paradise for pedicures and i can't help but notice every single time the nail techs fail to properly prepare my nails for gel and their gel application is incorrect. layers of polish are way too thick, improperly cured, and worst of all THEY CUT YOUR CORNERS!! cutting corners of the big toe is super common in salons but i specifically asked them not to as it creates a big risk of ingrowns or impaction on the big toe. super painful and unhygienic. my tech did it anyways. i was also not exactly impressed with the massage or scrub. it seems like paradise just wants you in and out as fast as possible. i wouldn't recommend paradise for pedicures.

After that, some other lady came over and had to drill it and redo the whole entire thing and I had plans that I was late for. I also on that day went with my friend, and her nails were bleeding in six different spots. I see many bottles polish separate every time I come in. Which leads me to #2. 2. My gels or regular polish NEVER last. The gel chips and the regular polish will chip as well. 3. Some of the nail techs PRETEND to understand you. Spanish is my first language so I get it. There has been times when I've asked the nail tech an open ended question and they would pretend to understand me with a yes response. It's rude. If you don't understand, just say you don't. They're prices are reasonable and SOME of the nail techs are very kind and work hard. But I'm not sure the people who work there are happy or getting paid fairly. Most of them seem miserable to be there and it shows through their massages. I've been there over 100 times since I have lived in Cheshire and I finally think I'm done. To be honest, I only go there because they are usually the only ones that have walk in availability.

The massage chairs are the standard massage chairs that most salons have and the massage chair worked very well. I had Koko as my nail technician and for the spa pedicure I choose the Mango pedicure. The pedicure began with a mango Sea Salt Soak, and then a mango Sugar Scrub, followed by a mango thermal Mud Masque and at least a 10 minute Massage with mango Cream and hot stones on each foot/leg. After the pedicure I had a basic manicure, and she used a clear coat of polish. While I waited under the dryer she gave me a shoulder massage.
