However after I took my passport photos I realized that not only the picture itself is awful (it doesn't look like me at all) they didn't even bother cutting the photos to the right size! I'm really surprised by some of the reviews here. I've only had great experience working with Mimosa Digital. That is to say, I am a professional Graphic Designer and know my way around printing protocols. I think some of the customers who left negative reviews 1. possibly selected the wrong type of printing business for the project they needed and 2. did not understand/follow spec guidelines that are clearly outlined on the Mimosa Digital website. I find the website (although a little outdated, aesthetically) extremely easy to use, and full of very useful information for collaboratively creating a successful print. When it comes to services like this, its 50/50 customer & printer responsibility. I would highly recommend Mimosa Digital to any design student, designer, or business professional looking for high quality prints. I have yet to use their other services but they offer so many different products and I'm excited to try some of them out now that my business is growing. read more

All I can say is "wow", and not in a good way. I ended up at Mimosa Digital because they are the only print shop online that does transparency printing. I had emailed their customer service asking how to format the file for transparency with white ink printing, I was met with "It's $25 for an artist to look at it, and because we don't have a minimum order, you can order it and find out." I figured even if they screw up the white transparency that I could at least sell defective products for half price. Boy was I wrong. I received my print, and there's just so much wrong with it. For starters, they placed the white ink incorrectly. The color job from the printer was choppy, and despite the same image being printed repeatedly on the same page, the colors got distorted. They also resized my file as well so I ended up getting it about 2cm smaller and I literally cannot scrap it for my customers. And on top of that, the text that was printed on it got more than patchy, it's almost like graphite shavings got stuck somewhere in there and became? Holographic/shiny. Absolutely not helpful, I should not have to pay $25 for an artist to say yes or no, then not teach me what I did wrong so I don't have to pay again in the future. But also the quality is just god awful, I wouldn't sell these to my customers even if it was printed in the size I requested. The shipping they provided did keep my print safe all the way through the shipping process, and it only took 3 days, and considering I spent $10 for shipping, that's not too bad. So if you want low quality printing with horrible customer service, just keep in mind your trash will get your door safely. read more

I have made three orders for panoramic prints of the same subject: a farm in Michigan. I have experience as a photographer and imho had made a good jpeg digital file for Mimosa to work with.The recipients of these prints were very pleased by their quality, sharpness and color. Mimosa Digital is awesome. I've used their services twice now, and my photos have come out great both times. I'm an actor, and the first round of headshots I had printed were done beautifully (even though due to my photographer's error, they were a lower resolution than required for Reproductions printing). After speaking with a friendly representative, I ordered a test print, and received it in less time than I was quoted. This led to an order of 100 prints, and they arrived earlier than expected as well. Round 2: I ordered both postcards and business cards, but they looked a bit blurry on the preview on the website. I put in a note asking for a call to confirm or deny blurriness, and got a call the next morning from Mimosa to let me know they would print just fine... and that they would print AND ship the same day. Great! Finally, they cost about HALF the price of Reproductions in the city. I'll be using them from now on, and recommending them to all my friends in the industry for promotional printing needs. read more

Let me first start off by saying the people at Mimosa Digital are either clueless, rude, and/or completely unprofessional in dealing with customers. The owner, in particular, has very weak social skills. I had an image file I wanted put onto art paper. I was sent the image file back upon editing it, and was pleased. I approved it for printing. Once I went into the store and saw the print, it was very flawed with marks and was not the image I saw online. I tried resolving the issue directly with the owner and he was very stubborn about helping alleviate the situation. He insisted the image was what I asked for. He finally offered to "resolve" the issue by editing and printing it FOR EXTRA MONEY! Needless to say he would not offer me a refund. Probably the worst experience I have had with any small business owner. I went back to understand why the image I uploaded to their website to print was so off from the result. Apart from the others who work there, the owner has no respect for his customers. I will never given them my business. The owner basically angrily schooled me on why my laptop screen is not calibrated with a spectrometer. Are you kidding me? Advice : Make your business about your customers and not about yourself. Completely incompetent. I brought in a VHS tape to be transferred to mp4. I waited weeks for the work to be done. When I tried opening the file, I discovered it was the wrong file format. I called them up, and they said they don't do mp4s. What a waste of time. read more

If youre in a jam to scan something, make sure to NOT end up here. Warning: 1 dollar per page for a scan. So, if you need to scan 45 pages like I did, it will cost you nearly 50 dollars. HINT: UPS did it for 12 dollars. Theyre always wonderful. Apparently, the prices here are set in stone, when the gentlemen I spoke to I asked if he could do a discount (it literally costs them next to nothing to scan), he refused. I never write reviews for poor customer service, but I am making an exception here. After three attempts to use the download service via iPhone app, the app repeatedly shut down at the point of photo upload. As an alternative, I called the store to ask if there was an alternative email address I could send the photos to in time for holiday printing. I was advised by the store manager that the answer was 'yes, but it will cost more'. When I asked why it would cost more since the challenge was that the app wasn't functioning and accepting my photos, he replied and I quote 'that is just the way it is'. When I asked, as the manager, if there was something he could do to align the pricing, I was told 'no, I can't'. Although my three photo prints for the holidays weren't worth accommodating via alternative means when the companies app wasn't working, I will also be taking all future photo printing, card printing and invitation printing elsewhere. This was an incredibly poor display of customer service in a situation where the technology provided by the business is what created the issue in the first place. I am frankly stunned at the thoughtless response and lack of appreciation for the business of a local customer. read more

I've used Mimosa's panoramic printing service. The quality of the photo was better than I expected. In fact, it was so good I'm ordering a couple more. I'm starting to sell some of my work so I'm very particular in quality stuff to give my customers. I usually use a professional printing service for most of my large format prints. Unfortunately, they don't do large format panoramic prints. I found this service on line. The one thing that sold me was the on-line customer service chat with a live person. Jason answered all of my questions. He was very helpful in helping me size the photo since panoramas are something new for me. He even answered a question for me after business hours. The print was packaged in a hard protective print mailer and was delivered within a week. I'll leave a follow up for round two if I have any issues. Thanks Mimosa!! read more

My experience with them is okay. I was working with Julia and she was very responsive to emails but I was getting attitude when I suggested different designs or techniques. I finally had my order ready for pick up and when I picked it up, they forgot to include the rsvp envelopes that I had to request. When I got home with my order I noticed they forgot to give me the extra envelopes I ordered and paid for. I had to let them know and return to the store to pick up the extra envelopes. Then I get home and noticed the envelopes didn't have the envelope liners. I emailed Julia and got no response, I called and left a message then decided to go to the shop. I get there and as soon as I walk in Julia says oh I emailed you back, our printer is down until Monday so you have to come back then to pick them up. No apologies, nothing. Julia - you're the fucking worst. If I could go back in time, I would not go to perfectly invited. read more

Just received my print order and I'm extremely happy with the quality of my prints and how quickly they arrived. Also, I was glad at how well they were packaged. On a side note- I used the auto-crop feature and it worked great on all but one shot. But when I called the store, Jason was great help. He walked me through how to do it and he even took the time to help me by remotely linking to my PC. I just used Mimosa for the first time today and was so pleased with service and pricing. Before moving ahead I got estimates from two others - one whom I've used before and am incredibly happy with, but requires a bit of travel to pick up my orders, or paying for delivery. The other, FEDEX/KINKOS Hoboken provided me with two different quotes - over the phone it was 6X the amount Mimosa has estimated and via email it was 3X. Ordered wedding invitations and lets just say there is nothing "perfect" about the invitations here. We experienced multiple issues with this company. SOME of the issues included - invitations took 4 weeks longer than expected. - lack of communication and follow up, had to call the manager to even get ahold of our designer after weeks of trying. - initial drafts had wrong wedding time, misspelled words and major formatting errors. - we still had to reformat EVERYTHING. - directions card was missing from invitations that were sent out. - despite paying for assembly, we still ended up having to assemble invitations to get them out on time. Save yourself the hassle and find a stationary company that won't give you stress and headaches. read more

I was in need of printing some photos and went in on Small Business Saturday to support a local business. The employees couldn't be less helpful and it was obvious they didn't care that we were in the store. After asking how we can print some photos they just took us to a computer and turned t on and said "put in your usb". After maybe 10 minutes the computer was still powering up and no one took the time to come assist us. We then asked what is the largest size photo we can print from the computer. Rather "snootily" the employee just pointed to a sizing chart and said they would have to print it for us and it could not be done from the computer. If they took the time to ask what we needed and what we wanted to print we would have been in and out. Instead we sat there for 10 minutes staring at the computer screen. Instead of supporting a local business we ended up printing our photos at CVS. Although the work that was displayed in the store was lovely looking, I will never return to give them my business. I recently had a large set of old family photos scanned and restored at Mimosa Digital. While the cost was considerable, I was extremely pleased with the results. Old photos that were torn, bent, and discolored have been rejuvenated and enlarged. Especially in the case of photos of my grandparents when they were young, it's like seeing them for the first time or looking back in time. It was well worth the cost. read more

Attention brides. If you are looking for a hassle-free place to print your wedding invitations, look elsewhere. Before I start, I will say that the work product at Mimosa is beautiful (hence one of the two stars). It is evident when you walk in the store that it is high quality stuff. The staff is friendly and the environment is nice (the second of the two stars). However. Unless you are ordering an exact replica of something already featured in the store, stay away. I paid for a custom design which meant I would work with the designer to create my invitations based on some samples in the store, some stuff I'd seen online, etc. I had no problem with this process taking some time, and knew it would not be perfect the first, second, or third time. However, what I did not expect was the complete lack of competence of Carley, the designer. She never reviewed her work before sending it to me, meaning I had to go through each proof and catch spelling errors, irregularly shaped objects, inconsistent fonts, and text that did not line up. I would send an email detailing instructions to fix 'a,' 'b,' and 'c,' and would be sent back a proof with 'a' adjusted and something else wrong. I had a running joke with my family that for each edit I had it would take 3 proofs to get right. Sad part is that it wasn't a joke at all. The workmanship is sloppy at best, and I was shocked when I went in person to make adjustments and found that the design was being drawn freestyle like you would do in MS Paint. Jason, the owner, was not apologetic in the slightest. 35 proofs (not an exaggeration, I counted) and four weeks later, I finally had something decent with correct spelling. I wish that were the end. The cards themselves came out pretty, but the assembly was very, very sloppy. We were missing over 30 cards (they didn't count to make sure we had the right number), and 50 belly bands. The invitations were printed wrong, some of the cards were assembled upside down, and there was excess glue that we had to wipe off of 30% of the cards. It took an entire evening to take stock of what Mimosa gave to us to determine what we had, what was unusable and what we were missing. A huge waste of time, and not expected with the already high costs. If I were forced to use Mimosa over again for printing I would not listen to their requests that edits be made via email. I would march over to the store and sit and wait until I could watch the designer make the changes, or else guaranteed it won't get done. But that is only if I were forced. I wouldn't go back by choice. read more

I order a pretty simple print, all what I really needed was a different kind of paper! They have so many options to choose from and they were quick at getting my prints done! AWESOME! It's just a shame that their costumer service is terrible! Wow I would not pay the design fee to get something done by them because I would be scared of saying that I didn't like something in the design! LeeAnn at mimosa digital saved the day and created a custom save the date magnet for us that was perfect and cost wise very much inline with the major websites but with a personalized touch. Peeved that on their website it says "Want that perfect photo for your passport? We will take as many photos as you wish." however when I called a couple days ago to inquire about it, the guy on the phone said they typically take 1 to 2 photos and charge you $5 extra if you want to take more....ridiculous sort of advertising. Anyway, not taking my passport photo business here and DEFINITELY NOT my wedding save-the-dates or invitations to Mimosa Digital due to this one deception alone. I oredered transparencies from this company 2 weeks ago. But the UI on there website made me put in my new address multiple times. I've ordered from them before with great results. But this time it was just taking longer. I check back with them to find that they shipped the package to the wrong house.They said they would take care of it but Jason was extremely rude and told me it was my fault multiple times. They said they would send the package back when it was returned to them. A couple days later, I checked back with them. The package still hasn't returned to them and I need to run my business. So I asked for my money back so that I could order transparencies from someone else. Which is said because they are some of the only people that do them. But now I'm regretting using them because they said repeated times that I'm not getting a refund, despite not completing their order with me. I'm literally about to buy my on printer for transparencies because I never want to deal with Jason, or people like Jason ever again. I had several hundred photos uploaded to their server, very laborious process, and they were all carefully edited. A flood destroyed our printed albums, and when I attempted to sign in to have them all reprinted, I was told that they switched systems a year ago, and since I hadn't placed an order in a year, they deleted all of my images. They claim to have sent an email about it, but I searched "Mimosa" in my email and I never received it, though I had received others in past years, so they had my email address. A ton of work down the drain. Will never use them again. read more

Mimosa Digital was fantastic, and somewhat of a lifesaver for our wedding day, having printed our favor tags and menus. They were a lifesaver as we originally intended to print them ourselves but we ran out of time. They produced proofs and the finished product with very fast turnaround time. They would receive 5 stars if if wasn't for the fact that their prices are a bit higher than what you may get on internet wholesale sites but their turnaround time and quality compensate for that. I needed somewhere to print a wide panorama poster and this was the only one I could find to print up to 60 inch width on standard order. The prints came in a timely fashion and I was pleased with the quality. They also give you detailed information on how to select the proper proportions of a panorama. I don't know about other printing services they offer, but I will go to this company for future wide view panoramic posters. read more

I waited until last minute (week before) to do photo Christmas cards and decided to try Mimosa since I live in town and wouldn't have to wait for shipping from an online vendor. They told me to complete the order using their online photo card service which I did. I uploaded the photo I wanted from my computer easily and created the card. They printed the order by the end of the day and I went to pick it up. Quick service....but when I saw the card, the photo was very dark. I spoke to an employee who told me it was because my computer monitor wasn't calibrated......calibrated??? How would I know that? And doesn't someone there (who are the experts) check the order before printing it since there's issues like "calibration" that might cause a problem? I indeed tried viewing the picture on several different computers and they all look fine to me. Sadly, there was no offer of correction when I spoke to staff, so basically I have $50 worth of cards I will be recycling and family and friends won't get to see our baby's first Christmas photo. Unless you go into the store and ask for a proof prior to ordering, I wouldn't trust their online service. read more
