Horrible breakfast Sunday 3/27 at the new location. I had the waffle meal. Waffle was like rubber. Very chewy. Bacon was 2 slices one Not cooked. Burned hash browns. We were in town for the county fair and decided to skip the carnival food for one night. After consulting Yelp, we were excited to try the highly rated Mexican joint Pollo Asado. We wish we hadn't. The salsa was tasteless and frothy, like it had just come out of the blender. The rellenos were mushy, the rice bland and the beans appeared to be swimming in the same water they came out of the can in. The chicken for with the restaurant is named had ok flavor but was dry. I've eaten at a ton of divey Mexican restaurants in Denver, so I'm no stranger to the genre. I'm sorry, I hate to trash a small business, and maybe Pollo Asado passes for good Mexican food in Montrose. Have been in Montrose for 4 days. Try to go to someplace different each day if possible. Mimo's exceeded my expectations. Simple breakfast, bacon, eggs, hash browns and 2 blueberry pancakes. Way too much food for me but well worth the stop. Walked in on a Saturday morning with most tables empty. Wondered if that was for a reason. Try it, you might be surprised as I was. A great find! My order was taken by an extremely friendly man who genuinely cared about our experience. The wait for take-out was around 15 minutes for the five of us. The food was delicious! We did encounter a small problem, we ordered several enchiladas to be vegetarian, and confirmed this with the man who took our order, unfortunately we received them with chicken and were unaware until we were too far away. Went to yelp to find a different breakfast place in Montrose. Found this place. Had the biscuits and gravy with eggs, hashbrowns and bacon. I'm of the philosophy that breakfast should be the most affordable meal of the day. Pricing was a buck more from menu photo about a year ago. Nevertheless it was very affordable. And the portion was ridiculous, it was brought out on to seperate plates! Food quality and taste was awesome. The service was workman like but not fawning. The only thing is the food was not very warm. If they make sure the food is piping hot then you'll have a five star. I'll be back and hope they figure out how to serve the food hot! read more

Always fresh and just good food. The tacos are excellent as is the salsa. The smothered burritos are great too. For a twist, try the cheeseburger and fries. It is both a take out and sit down eatery and the music tends to be loud, but it is comfortable and super casual. Also, the place can get busy between 11:30-12:15pm when the high school students converge. Bottom line, the food makes it all worth it! read more

I walked in asking if they had anything vegetarian and was given the run-down on all the "vegetarian" options. Thinking to myself "beans and rice are not always vegetarian", it was as if they read my mind. I was told that no lard is used in the making of the rice and beans - only vegetable oil. I called in my order based on Yelp reviews and they said it will be ready in about 10 minutes. The location is non descript and I drove right around it but finally found the door. When I went to the counter to tell them that I had a carry out order he asked me if I called it in and I said yes. He was so nice and gave me a bottle water for my wait. Stopped by on my way to the Hot Springs in Ridgeway with my friend. She said this is the "go to" place for a delicious roasted whole chicken.
