Honestly from the outside didn't look too appealing, but I listened to the reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Came with my crew on a work trip and we all loved the place. From the American breakfast to the Mexican cuisine they crushed it! Both servers were lovely and chatted with us about the town and what not. Highly recommend the chorizo skillet it was so good! Thanks guys! read more

We're looking for a breakfast burrito on Sunday morning. A lot of sandwich shops and restaurants are closed here on Sundays. We found this place Mimos. Ordered a Carne Asada burrito, since they did not have breakfast burrito. It was loaded with all kinds of good stuff. Beans rice Kearny Asada cheese and pico. Pretty tasty and filling. Good food at a fair price. Wait staff friendly and attentive. You can tell it was a former Chinese restaurant, but don't let the decor fool you. Food and service is worth the stop. read more

Thank you for an amazing meal! My daughter has severe allergies and so it's very difficult to eat out. The staff did an amazing job accommodating her while also providing a delicious allergen-free meal. The rest of us had a a variety of delicious foods, and I had the best avocado BLT I've ever had. Thank you all so much! read more

The have chicken, tacos, taquitos, chile rellenos (stuffed peppers), chile relleno burrito, chile relleno torta, tostada, tamale, quesadilla, enchillada, and tacos. The $7 taco plate comes with rice & beans, 3 tacos, but you can't mix and match tacos. There's a small parking lot on side of building and street parking. The inside is big with plenty of seating. Friendly cashier. The flame grilled chicken was ok but tacos were good. ....| \ _ , , , - - , , _ , .../ , ` . - ' ` ' . _ \ - ; ; ; , _ ..| , a - ) ) _ . ; . The smothered breakfast burrito is amazing. And big enough for anyone. If you don't like Mexican food, you can order regular breakfast. All of it is great. read more

Been there several times and it has been good. Waited an hour for our food at our most recent visit. Everyone seated near us, even those who arrived after us ate and left before we got our food. I think the server forgot to put our order in. When it finally arrived, my skillet meal did not seem to have any eggs. If we decide to go back I hope they can get it right. read more

The food here at Mimo's has always been pretty darn good... also plentiful.... Only problem is that their coffee is very, VERY weak everytime we come in. Tastes like dark water. ;) But the Heavos Rancheros are Awesome read more

We went in during busy lunch hour so the food took a long time to arrive (~20mins). However, it was worth the wait. Their green chili that's in the smothered burrito was mildly spicy and flavorful though I wish I had ordered steak or carnitas instead of chicken. The steak nachos were really good and make for a filling meal as well. Just be careful not to get anything crazy spicy that will upset your stomach if you plan to visit Black Canyon NP afterwards! read more

Best Mexican food in Montrose. Servers were excellent too. Will for sure be coming back to try more. The portions are big too.

Why did they have to move to the new location? The previous location was our favorite diner with great chicken fried steak, burritos, liver and onions and burgers. It was always so very good. Sadly the new location does not hold a candle. Poor service, rude servers and sub-par food on every visit makes this our PREVIOUS favorite diner. Won't go back. read more

My wife and I stopped by for breakfast and when we arrived was asked if we want to sit at the bar! 9am? Why would we want to sit at the bar? The food is ok but was really disappointed when I ordered French toast for a side order , it wasn't on the menu but didn't expect to pay $8.50 for 2 pieces of toast! Didn't know the price until we got the bill. Won't be going back to a rip-off restaurant like Mimos ever again! read more

We had the best experience at Mimo's this weekend! The staff was so sweet and accommodating. They set us up on the patio, put up the shade and provided the best service! You can't beat the variety of menu options and always delicious specials! Best food & service in Montrose ! As a local business owner, it's awesome to have this lil local gem in montrose! So far we've just been for breakfast a few times, but it's been delicious and on point every time. Good diner coffee and specials. This place stays fairly busy, and although there's no frills the service is always really good. read more

so good. This is a small family owned mama and papa restaurant. The staff was super friendly. The green chile is simple and delicious as it's intended to be. The frijoles are fresh and the servings are incredibly abundant...and I couldn't help but eat all of my huevos rancheros in one sitting. As you can see the breakfast burrito my partner enjoyed is also huge. read more

We've been frequenting Mimo's for breakfast/lunch for a while now and I've never had a disappointing meal. The servers are always friendly, sometimes a little feisty, which is a plus in my book. Coffee is always flowing. I've heard there are some growing pains with the move into the larger location, so I'll let them work out the kinks and visit again soon. Can't wait to see where the future takes this awesome family owned Montrose gem. read more

I thought that this was going to be something like Chicken Kitchen. I did not realize that it was Mexican food. I don't like Mexican food, but my husband was very pleasantly surprised. I stuck with the chicken and hubs got a gigantic burrito. All the food tasted fresh and good. Their pricing is fair and you do get your money's worth. The folks here are friendly and happily answer your questions. This is pretty much a hole in the wall type of place. Seems like most of their business is take out. But they do have plenty of tables inside. We like to try different, non-chain places when we travel and this was a good option. I'm not saying that it's the best I've ever had, but it is good and priced well. Four stars for price, food and service combined. read more

Went in for dinner last nigh with friends, ordered a ground beef burrito which turned out to be 2/3 rice, beans and very little ground beef. It came with chips but evidently no salsa. Had to ask for salsa. Have ate here several times and not sure i will go back. Very bad experience. read more

Fantastic breakfast. They nailed the idea of combining Mexican and traditional American breakfasts, not in some cheap "fusion" way that a lot of chains are failing at. The dishes are HUGE too. They lose some flavor when reheating so I recommend splitting a dish instead of taking home leftovers. read more

We enjoyed our meal. Extensive breakfast menu that runs all day. Lots of non Latin choices too. Surprised us. Both meals of different types were good. Service was excellent. Downside: don't play news stations on the two TVs. Ppl come to enjoy their meals plus may not agree with the selected channels with their political views. Ppl spend money based on political views anymore, and it could be a detractor from bringing ppl back or having them eat there the first time. read more

Worst biscuits and gravy I have ever had. The "sausage" gravy had no sausage, hash browns were undercooked, and it was basically a pile of slop. The bathroom in this restaurant smelled like backed up sewer coming from the woman's restroom and they had the door wide open? Seems like a health hazard to me. The service was also pretty crappy. The only reason I am giving two stars is because the coffee was somewhat decent. read more

6 stars! Very friendly staff! A delicious variety of food simple yet optional menu. Each time I pass the Montrose I have to stop. And each time I am amazed. They are extremely affordable. I really loved this place when the previous owner ran it he was such a great guy. New owners are nice but just don't have the friendliness of the last owner. Food seems to have remained the same. Good taste and quality. Best Cheese burger, fries and drink deal in Montrose. A hidden Gem. I cant really imagine anyone not liking this restaurant. Parking can be a challenge if they are busy. I cant wait to see the new remodel they are doing. read more

Went to Mimo's and discovered it had been updated from Pollo Asado and that is a good change! The service was attentive but sadly, the Mexican food we got was really a lunch portion at a dinner price. We will go back but likely to try the American fare which seemed to appear more reasonably priced with larger portions from what we could see. Maybe as they get their feet under them to add wait staff and more cook staff to give the only cook they have a break, then perhaps it will improve. We will try them again soon as we like the people, the new ambiance, and the expanded menu, but prices need to reflect portion size and quality. read more

What a great local meal. My family landed at the airport and just needed any food.... And Mimo's was way better than expected. My wife got tostadas with ceviche which was nice and refreshing and I had a great chicken quesadilla that was way better than the normal grilled chicken in betweeen two Ken tortillas with cheese. This had tons of flavor and everyone left happy. They also had very simple kid items for our five year-olds. I will recommend this to anyone when they are visiting Montrose area. read more

The food is tasty and! and service is definitely on point. Prices are affordable. I recommend the California burrito.

The food was good but the service left much to be desired. Waitress was rude, disrespectful and was not helpful when we asked to substitute items on the menu. This is definitely a local place so be prepared to get stared at like you're from another planet when you walk in. Would not recommend based solely on the poor service. read more

Good food but slow/inconsistent service. Had a grilled chicken sandwich, veggie burger melt that came out as a grilled peppers, mushrooms & onions with cheese (no burger - still yummy) & a kids chicken taco. Would give food a solid 4 stars. Waitress was very pleasant but needs major training. Wasted lots of steps and kept forgetting to bring requested items to tables. Saw one to-go patron wait 10 minutes for plain white toast that was forgotten in his original order (I'm sure while his to-go breakfast items went cold). We won't be back until they make some changes to their front of house. read more

It was good. I ordered the 4 flautas plate, and everything on it was fresh and tasty. The service was quick and polite. There were many locals eating there, and to me that's always a good sign. One thing I didn't understand was the pricing on the menu board. I believe what I ordered cost about $6 and change, but the total came to $8.00 with tax. Not sure why so much tax/fees, and the girl behind the counter didn't know either. read more

Do not recommend this place at all, waited over an hour for our food. Then to be told they lost our ticket and we would have to wait 10 minutes for them to retake our order and an additional 30 minutes for the food. The service in general was horrid. read more

Fact: 80% of restaurants are closed on Mondays in Montrose. I found this out the hard way. But do not fret, Pollo Azado is open and that's pretty much all you need. My husband and I stopped by this little hole in the wall on our way from Telluride to Grand Junction and were more than satisfied with our meal. I really don't know what stood out the most: the super friendly staff (the guy taking our order is one of the nicest fellas you'll ever meet), the delicious juicy chicken, or the homemade chips, salsa, and beans. All amazing. And all for a really reasonable price. The restaurant itself is simple, but super clean and we found it to be cozy and comfortable. The lady who delivered our food was really sweet and came back to see if we needed anything else, which you don't get in most order-at-the-front type of restaurants. Overall, a pleasant experience and really ridiculously good homemade Mexican food. This will be our staple restaurant to visit anytime we head through Montrose again. read more

Horrible breakfast Sunday 3/27 at the new location. I had the waffle meal. Waffle was like rubber. Very chewy. Bacon was 2 slices one Not cooked. Burned hash browns.
