Amazing service! The place is clean and there are dividers between each person, everyone wears a mask and they take your temperature upon arrival. Customer service at this place is beyond amazing, everyone is so friendly but professional. Will definitely be back for a mani- spa pedi combo! read more

Got a pedicure done here tonight with my friend and we literally had such a good time! The girls are so funny I had Lily but I didn't get to see the name of the other girls we interacted with. The man who greeted us was also totally cool and they had a nice selection of nail colors and I just felt so welcome here. I'll definitely be back even though I'm located in Queens the drive is definitely worth it. As for COVID measures, all the other reviews are accurate they made me feel very comfortable everyone was wearing a mask and all the customers had their masks covering their nose and mouth as were the nail techs. They take temperature when you walk in, everyone wears disposable gloves in the salon, and there's shields in between the client and the techs. read more

I used to adore this place but a couple of the employees have been lacking. I paid $35 dollars for a powder dip manicure and the employee Amila was very disgruntled. While there, another customer refused to get her nails done by her and I was placed with her instead. That should have been a red flag for me. Amila rushed through process and the final top coat is lumpy. She was in a rush to go home and tried to blame me when the top coat was not dry. I'm paying for a service, you have to make sure the top coat is dry before sending me to wash my hands. A word of caution, be super wary of the oil they rub on your nails at the end. I suspect they do this to cover their tracks because I wasn't able to see a lot of the defects until I got home. Ultimately, I'm disappointed with what I got. There are a ton of salons in Bay Ridge and I'm sad I'll have to stop visiting this one because of a few bad apples. The owners are super sweet but should really consider reevaluating their staff. read more

I'm jump between this and one other place. This place is closer to my apartment, but is much smaller and busier. I prefer it, however, if there is a wait i head down the street to some other salons where the service and quality really doesn't differ much. The girls here are quick, friendly, and do a great job. Typically get a normal pedi, which lasts awhile, and i like gel manicures, which last me 1.5-2 weeks. At $25 it's pretty standard pricing. I like the owner, she's always there and always friendly. Besides how busy it is and the possible long waiting time, you won't be disappointed by visiting here. read more

There's a reason this place is always busy! I live in the neighborhood and needed a quick eyebrow wax so I gave Mimi's a try. The wax was quick and well done for a walk in. I made an appointment the next week on a Saturday afternoon for a gel manicure. I was told there may be a short wait but when I got there it was only about 10 minutes - just enough time to go through their large selection of gel colors. The staff was friendly and attentive and I was in and out in 30 minutes. My manicure looks perfect, I will definitely be back! read more

I've been going to Mimi's for 3 years now. This is honestly the best nail salon in bay ridge. The owner Mimi and her husband are absolutely wonderful and cater to your every need. It's very clean, they use tools out of a package, and when getting a pedicure they put plastic around the tub and use a special filter. The spa pedicure is amazing, it is well worth the $45. I also get my legs waxed here, every girl who does it usually does a very good job. I'm kind of particular when getting a manicure so I do like certain nail techs(Ann, Lucy, & Amelia are my favorites). If you ever have a problem Mimi is always on top of it. It's usually very busy in there but well worth the wait. Highly recommend! read more

This is hands down the best mail salon ever. The value, for the incredible service, is unbeatable. The spa pedicure goes on and on, with massages, warm rocks, scrubs... what a total treat. And the owners, and staff, are lovely! read more

I really mainly write reviews if I'm very IMPRESSED or very DISAPPOINTED!! Well the minute I walked in to Mimis salon, I was great very nicely. Was told told to wait bout 15 mins which is understandable due to it being at Saturday afternoon about 4:30pm. I picked gel color as I waited. I assume she was one of the owners a wonderful Asian lady came and greeted me asking if I needed help with the colors and offered for me to sit as I waited. I decided to do white as her nails were the same color, and my nails are currently short letting it rest from acrylics. Once I sat down, Momo was my technician, very nice lady friendly and she rocks long nails and is the bomb at doing them as well. I was paying attention to what was happening in the salon of course while my nails were being done so I see what's everyone's outlook and perception. Everyone was enjoying the salon experience, love that everyone was calm and smooth. They had music playing which was hip n cool. After you get your service they give you a nice little massage on your shoulders which was awesome!! So Momo was at a great speed doing my nails she didn't rushing and definitely took her time she's definitely a perfectionist which I can tell even though it was a gel manicure. I look forward to coming back. Will definitely become a regular and I'm traveling from crown heights.. definitely worth the experience! Thank you Mimis and you guys rock!! read more

Stopped by here without an appt for a manicure. The staff is REALLY nice and welcoming. Especially the owner, Mimi. She greets every customer who walks in and makes sure she has some kind of body contact with them, such as a pat on the shoulder or holding ur hand. That really stood out for me. It makes customers feel welcomed and gives u a closer feeling. Anyways, so this place is really big. The front is manicure stations, drying stations and about 5-6 pedicure stations. Then there is a short hallway for coats to be hung, even a station for u to put ur shoes in (!!!!!) and although i didnt getto goto the back, i did see from the surveillance cameras in the front that they had about 4-5 pedicure stations in the back. Awesome for bridal parties or just a girls spa day! I forgot the person who did my nails, she was friendly as well and did stir up conversations here and there. The manicure came out good but i do feel the top coat they use is a tad bit thicker and it creates an obvious lining when u look closely at ur nails. So that is my only complaint. While i was drying my nails, i was given quick dry (free! Most salons ive gone to charge $1 for it) and i did see Mimi running back and forth picking up peoples shoes to put away and their jackets. She also was sweeping the floor to ensure the store was clean. I am happy with this place and probably will come back to try their gel manicure cos it seems like everyone there was getting that. Oh BTW, i did see a LOT of staff and their certifications on the wall. This is probably the only salon ive gone to that has that many staff!!! read more

Mimi's is ALWAYS busy, no matter what time of the day or week you pop in! They do a good job accommodating customers so your wait is reasonable. Most of the ladies do a great job with gel nails but only some are trained in Powder/SNS so you may have to wait around longer if that's your go-to. Lots of colors to choose from for either option, so if you're looking for a large variety this is the place to go. But because it's always crazy busy, loud and crowded, it's not a very relaxing atmosphere. But they will do a good job with your manicure! read more

I did a massage there once which was really great! Will definitely come back again for that. I usually go to Mimi spa to have my brows done and my face waxed, but the last time I went the lady literally waxed way too much from the beginning of my eyebrows instead of just cleaning the edges! My eyebrows were literally always perfectly shaped but now they are ruined and I have been using makeup every single day to try to reshape them to look "normal" until my hair grows back, which is taking so much time! I will have to look for a new place to do my eyebrows in! read more

I LOVE Mimi's... i am a pedicure queen and the service they provide is EXCELLENT. They do an exfoliating leg scrub that is unheard of in Bay Ridge (unless you're doing some spa-pedi) and there is no additional fee for this svc. The staff are all super-friendly and attentive and the facilities are excellently maintained. Around X-mas I went in for a pedicure and they were giving our scarves as a gift to all of their customers. What a nice touch! At the very end of your service when they seat you in the drying station, your nail technician gives you a quick 2-3 minute shoulder rub. Also unheard of elsewhere. I believe the pedi is $15 or $17... 100% worth the experience/service. AND, the polish and dead-skin removal last for weeks... Go Mimi's! read more

A lot of people really really love this place, but maybe my experience was different because I was a new customer, or because I walked in (I later discovered) only an hour before closing time: I'm not happy, and was unhappy for the duration of my experience there. I walked in an hour before closing, asking if they had time to take me. The owner happily said yes. She was very nice, but it started bordering on pushy: she was reminding me of a used car salesman. She asked if I wanted to do gel or powder tips, gel for $65 or powder for $40. When she saw I was undecided, she raised the price of the powder tips to $50 and told me it was only a $10 difference to upgrade to gel. Fine. I went with gel--I'm happy to spend more for (allegedly) better. Two women (neither the owner) started doing my nails at the same time--one on each hand--all the while looking very unhappy and reminding me that they were closing soon. Because two people were doing them, the work started to look very different--which would mean my two hands would not match. I kept pointing this out, and trust me the difference was obvious, so they switched to one girl only. She kept complaining about how the other girl had done a horrible job, and telling me I should have come in earlier. I told her nicely that since they agreed to take me, I expected a good job, because if I had to get them redone I would have thrown away the $70 I spent at her salon. (It ended up being $55--guess the owner felt bad and reduced the price--plus a $15 tip I left for the last girl who did my nails, so $70.) I was unhappy because I felt the entire time, I had to beg and plead with them to do a good job and to match my two hands to each other, and because the girl finally doing my nails was so extremely unhappy about working, I felt unwelcome. We were all very nice to each other, but you SHOULD NOT have to try to convince a service provider to give you quality--especially if you're paying a lot of money. By the end of it, my nails looked alright sort of--nothing obviously horrible, but then, one of them broke off 4 days later.. while I was brushing my hair, so it's not like I did anything that should have broken a nail. And I have NEVER had a nail break before in all of the years I've been getting them done. To be fair, the owner did tell me I could come back at any time if anything "happened." But that's not really convenient for me, so I'm probably going to pay someone else to fix it. read more

Mimi's services are absolutely the best in a neighborhood full of nail salons/spas. While it may not be as "cheap" as some, it is certainly worth the few extra dollars for the quality of service. Mimi & her husband take great pride in their business and it shows. I've never visited when they are not on site ensuring that every service is up to their high standards and making sure the customers are happy. They are attentive, courteous and genuinely kind to each and every customer that walks through the door. The mani/pedi tools are autoclaved and pre-packaged in sterilized wrappers prior to use and Mimi makes sure that the cleanliness extends to every area of the salon from the pedicure stations to the bathroom to the lovely outdoor garden where my husband likes to sit with his crosswords and a cup of coffee while I have my mani/pedi. My personal favorite: the pedicure chairs have the most awesome massage functions and Mimi ensures that every pedicure is replete with a generous scrub, leg massage and neck and back massage while you sit under the dryer. read more

Oh Mimi ! Everyone who has been here knows Mimi. When you stroll in on a Saturday afternoon it is apparent that Mimi knows nails because it is packed full. You will see women getting pushed along in their swivel chairs to open manicure tables, Mimi will hold your hand as she drags you around, and everyone is as friendly as can be. There can be a wait for mani/pedi and even a wax job, so don't go if you are in a rush. The earlier you go the better, or a weekday should be less busy ! You can count on Mimi's for entertainment and great service :) read more

So overrated. Shortest manicures I have ever got and sloppiest too. Never going back.

What can I say? I've been going to Mimi's for over a decade and I absolutely love it. I've been to Elizabeth Arden, Georgia Klinger, you name it I've been there and I will keep coming back time and again to Mimi's. The manicures are really good, the spa pedicures are unique and the best I have ever had anywhere. Mimi is probably a tough cookie with herStaff but she is a pussy cat with her clients. I also want to note that it is an exceptionally clean and very friendly atmosphere. I love Mimi, I love Amila- I love them all. read more

Used to take my better half to this place a lot. Mimi and Bruce, the owners are really friendly, but they don't respect the customers time. For example, you can make an appointment and wait 40 minutes for the manicurist to be available. When you walk in you are given a wait time that is rarely accurate. Sometimes the person you make the appointment with isn't even there on the day of the appointment. This is why we switched saloons to pink and white a few blocks down. That being said, Amelia at Mimi's does really good work and spends a lot of time getting it perfect. read more

I love Mimi's!! I have been going to her for years and there is no other nail salon that I use!! They do great manicures and pedicures and are courteous and nice. I've been a frequent customer of Mimi's for years now. The owners are splendid in their customer service. Why three stars you ask? Because the services aren't always consistent. There were a handful of times a few nail techs whom tries to skimp out on a normal manicure routine. For example, the past month I've got different techs working on my gel mani, few times they tried to not soak my hands before cleaning up my cuticles or does lazy effortless buffing/shaping and not painting all of my nail. Or, tried to reuse tools from their previous client (yes it really happened). Seems to me the techs assume I'm not a regular and I wouldn't be familiar with the services. Overall it's a hit or miss depending on who does your nails. Beware and don't be afraid to speak up. I still frequent the salon, just learned to say no to the ones whom do a poor job and rather wait a bit longer for someone whom is better. P.S. It can be crowded. read more

When I first started coming to this place, I was mesmerized by the cleanliness. however, the wait time is very looong. I have found that Mimi picks and chooses (sometimes) who should go next by order of familiarity. So unfortunately, I have not felt comfortable coming here anymore and have found another place a few blocks further. *I only got manis and pedis. my manicures never lasted a week but my pedicures did. read more

Nice job. Best pedicure I've gotten so far. But let me tell you, it was painful. I did think it was super neat so I asked the girls name Before I left so that when I can mentally Prepare myself for the pain, I could do this again. Doesn't disappoint! It was a busy Saturday, and Mimi attentively ushered her customers through an expert service.

I love this place so much. Never had a bad experience or a bad manicure/pedicure. Great selection of colors, and I have seen Mimi send girls to the drug store for more colors if someone had a special request. I highly recommend their spa pedicures, worth the time and money! Takes a full hour, I always get the peppermint one, comes with hot stone massage and it's pure heaven. The place is almost always busy, but people move quickly - well organized, and I never felt like I was being rushed out..once my nails are dry, I get up and go! This isn't the type of place where you'll be hanging around in your robe anyway. The only thing I would love to see them start doing more is really good nail art. Other than that, highly recommended, you will not be disappointed. read more

I've been to a couple nail salons in Bay Ridge and Mimi's is BY FAR the best one. The salon is beautiful and very organized. All of the staff are beyond helpful and so sweet. I got a french pedicure and a gel french manicure and each line is perfectly even and each nail is the same length. I was pleasantly surprised to be given special gloves to wear while my hands were in the UV drier. So so so good! The total was $64 which is WAY less than i've paid at other salons for these services. Highly highly recommend this salon for great service for an amazing price! read more

Got a mani there two months ago and it was the best place I've gone so far. The service was great, the ambiance was great, and I was amazed how far back the place stretches out. Came here around 12PM for a mani and pedi. I was greeted by Mimi and did not had to wait although there were a lots of customers. I expected a lot more from the pedi, but it was ok. I messed up my big toe a little and the lady didnt seem so happy about it. My nails seemed kind of sloppy by the time I left which I had to fix up on my own after I got home. My mani and pedi came out to be $27 ( their price has increased). I don't think I will be coming back here just because I feel that it is way too expensive to be paying over $30 to get your nails done ok-ly and not perfectly. read more

You know, a lot of people swear by Mimi's and I've given it two chances now. Disappointed each time. Each time, the girl has been incredibly rough and both experiences were painful. The first time I went I got a manicure, she cut my cuticle and I had to ask her three times to disinfect it. She told me "can you wait until I'm done." No. I can not. On top of it, I developed a wart where she cut me. It's been a few months since then and since I live nearby I thought I'd give it another shot for a pedicure. The girl I had did a half-hearted job. On top of it, she burned me with the paraffin that she put on my heel and I left with a blister. I just don't understand why everyone goes here but I don't go to a nail salon to leave injured or with a wart. Honestly, it's worth the walk to latoue on 82nd street. read more

The reviews are TRUE! This is by far the best nail salon in the neighborhood. I usually do my own nails but when I moved to the area, I decided to splurge and do them at the salon....not knowing that I will be addicted. I gave it a chance due to the great reviews on yelp and I was definitely not disappointed! Mimi and her husband really makes you feel like family. They are incredibly sweet and warm. The girls at the shop does an amazing job each and every time.
