This is still the best mani-pedi going. I have gone to upscale places in Manhattan, lots of lower end places in BK and Manhat.; but this place does the best job--hands (and feet) down. Clean and efficient; but also warm and friendly. The polish stays on my hands for nearly a week (and I use them--no gloves) and the pedis seem like they could hang on for a season. read more

The owner was indeed very welcoming as all the other reviews on here said however that was the extent of quality for this establishment. First of all I brought my friend and her daughters here as a treat for the girls birthdays. I understand that today is Saturday but the place was super busy and it showed in the quality of work they performed. We all got french manicures because they were unable to do simple designs that the kiddos had picked out. Then they rushed through the mani/pedis so quickly as if they were working on an assembly line. My other big complaint is that I asked the technician to do a french manicure on my toes and she said she couldn't bc my toes were to small...yet the other technician could do them on a 10 year old. REALLY!? We left the salon around 5pm and by 730pm the white was already chipping off the kid's nails and we hadn't even done anything yet. My friend's nails also had crooked lines and there was initially white polish under her nails until the owner inspected them and fixed it. I came to this place bc of all the "HYPE" and good reviews but unfortunately I am extremely disappointed. If you want a good lasting manicure you should go to Sunrise impression on 86th st. They are underated but much better and the mani/pedi lasts. I guess i learned not to follow the crowd! read more

best nail salon in new york...i have been going to Mimi's for years. The cleanest and most attentive nail salon I have ever been too. I work in the city and sometimes have to get a manicure near work and nothing has even come close to the service and cleanliness that I get at Mimi's. read more

I have been going to Mimi's for years. I used to love it. The nail color choices the service etc. They have completely plummeted. There service is horrific. The last couple of times my mom and me have left with our fingers or feet bleeding. An employee hit an entire canister of foot scrub into my pocket book and covered most of my body. The 50 dollar gift card they gave me was helpful except it cost more then that to even get my nails done that day. Today I literally gave them a 20 for my horrible pedicure and walked out after having to have them remove the gel polish that was all over the place on my nails and hands and a finger bleeding. Entirely frustrating experience after sitting there three hours. I no longer recommend this nail salon to anyone. The employees are treated pretty horribly as well. Hope this helps spare someone there time. read more

Pleasant atmosphere to be and great service. Been coming here for about a year now after searching on yelp for a clean and relaxing service. No extra service charges for using credit cards or asking for quick dry. The prices are reasonable. read more

Got a gel color manicure here. Very nice work done by the tech. One complaint is that I was abruptly moved to a different station during my service (the owner grabbed my chair and pushed me to a new station) which led to me being shocked and confused. I got over it and I would go back for the prices. read more

I don't think I really need to write a review for Mimi's Nail salon. 11 reviews already and not one bad review. Enough said I suppose. One word to describe Mimi's?: AWESOMENESS! They are definitely not expensive especially with all the extras they give and if they are who cares, they are CLEAN and that's all that matters! read more

I've been getting my nails done here for years. Unfortunately, it's gone downhill in the last year. Some of the newer hires (from the last year or so) are not great...rushed services, not letting gel manicures stay under the light long enough (they rush you out when they are still tacky), sloppy manicures. It's also pretty clear that a few of the women talk about the clients (saw one technician embarrass a client by repeatingly commenting loudly about her clammy hands). One time I was cringing and so uncomfortable when one of the technicians was talking very nasty about another technician to me...very unprofessional. Going to look for another place. read more

I went here for the first time today for a mani-pedi and it was great. Reasonable price ($25) and extremely attentive staff. My feet haven't been so soft in a while, and they went above and beyond with cleansing and massaging my feet/legs. Highly recommended. read more

Great mani/pedi. I went in on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed, I was worried it would take forever but I really didn't have to wait long--they have a lot of girls working there. Mimi was super nice--she came over and finished my manicure. One star off because the leg/shoulder massage that most salons throw in was a little lame, and because it was a little assembly line. Man, when those tootsies were dry Mimi practically shoved me out the door! In a nice way though. I'd go back , especially for a pedi. Parking is a bear.... read more

After going to Mimi a handful of times, I'm officially committed. Nobody beats Mimi's in the quality of the service, color selection and affordability. Even the expensive nail salons in Manhattan (Bliss) cannot compare to the service you get here. For $25 you get a mani/pedi with oil treatment for your heels and these wonderful gloves with lotion to moisturize your hands while you get pampered. The massage chairs (the ones that work) do a great job in addition to the mini neck and shoulder massage you get at the end of each amazing mani/pedi. My nails always come out looking shiny and fabulous! read more

Went in on a quiet morning...had the bad luck to get"wanda,". She barely hand the energy to or massage my legs. Didn't even rub the salt scrub on my feet...weak..weak...weak..acted like she needed a nap. I had to keep pointing out to her to file the nails before polishing my hands. Even with that my six year old does a better job. No shoulder massage after...guess I should have held the 5 buck tip (20%) to see if she would pretend to do the rest of her job...ive had great m/p at mimi s and I will certainly go back again but mimi wasn't there and the staff decided to take the day off..never will let Wanda steal my money again. read more

I go to NY twice month and usually have my nails done back he in Chicago, however, this time around I didn't manage to get my regular no-chip done on the weekend before traveling. With business travel and Holiday dinners with clients I needed to have my fingers look presentable and I Yelp-ed nail salon in the area of my hotel; Mimi's came up and I decided to give it a try. Let's just say I might have my nails done in NY now instead of my usual Chicago spa! Helena, my technician have done an outstanding job and my mails look impeccable. Clean little place, street meter parking and lovely atmosphere- what else can a busy girl ask for??? Can't wait to be back so I ca try another one of their 200 color choices! read more

I have been going to Mimi's Nails for years. The service and staff are fantastic. The only con is sometimes you do have to wait for chair to open. read more

Salon is very clean! That's one thing us ladies look for. Service is great if u get the girl u want to work on you. If not your not gonna have a good experience. Not all the techs know what they are doing! She trains them and if you look at the liscense they are not all there! One thing bad about this salon is that if they are busy, you will get a rush job and not good work! They rush to get in every one then if u tell them you didn't like how something is they start to give you attitude like its your fault it's not right! Or they start moving you from one tech to another to finish a job! Which is unprofessional ! So my opinion don't go when it's busy then you will have a great mani/pedi! read more

I LOVE Mimi's!! By far the best mani-pedi for the price and it stays looking good for weeks!

I don't know why people love this place so much. It used to be one of the better places back when it first opened up but since then there have been many other better, cleaner places that have opened up in the area. Mimi (the owner) is nice and I did not want to write a bad review so I refrained from writing one at all. (I have been going mostly to a different place in the area that charges a bit more but is better, more updated, and cleaner.) However I am writing this review because of a recent visit that made me upset and angry and never wanting to step foot into the place again. I went and got a manicure and pedicure. The name of the girl that worked on my nails was Monica. At the end of my visit, I tipped her $5. She had the nerve to look at me and say, "That's it?" and she then threw the money back in front of me. I was so annoyed and embarrassed because she did this in front of two other customers that saw. So I took the $5 bill back and gave her a $10 bill because I did not have any other change. I know I shouldn't have done this because it probably makes her feel like it's okay to act rude so she could get what she wants, which she did get more than that. However, she embarrassed me so much in front of the other customers that I was speechless. First of all, if you work to provide services for people, you should never be rude, especially if they are nothing but respectful to you. Second of all, you should never act that way in front of others and embarrass your customer. Third of all, you just shouldn't be working in that industry and working on tips if you are going to complain about it. Anyways, it's not like I gave a bad tip for her to even have a slight right to be upset. She shouldn't have said anything or showed any signs of rudeness and because she did that, I shouldn't have given her any tip in return. People like that obviously do not DESERVE a tip. When you own a place that provides services to people, you should warn your employees how to act with respect and appreciation for your customers. They should show those qualities NO MATTER WHAT fee they get in return for their services. After all, a tip is a TIP and maybe they should learn what that means. I shouldn't have to define it. To me, $5 is a good amount. It is what I can afford to tip and I know many others who give this amount. If I cannot afford more like some of the other very wealthy people in the area who may or may NOT tip more than that for those particular services, at least I am supporting the place with my business and giving a RESPECTABLE tip that I can afford on top of that... That should be appreciated. read more

Very unhappy! Got gel manicure over tips, paid $65+$15 tip, was guaranteed it woud last 3 weeks. In 3 days one nail felll off and lost 2 more in 5 days! Will never go again and never recommend the place to anyone else! read more

Great service! The salon can get crowded and they are a little bit more money than other nail salons in the neighborhood however they do a great job and owner Mimi is very sweet and accommodating. read more

I went to this salon this past Saturday, all the reviews mentioned how busy it gets so I got there bright and early for 9 am. I was greeted at the door by Mimi and her husband (owners) and they were so nice and attentive. Mani/Pedi was amazing, they include paraffin dip in the pedicure at no extra cost. They are very clean, professional and make you feel welcomed. This will be my go to place for Mani/Pedi from now on. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE IN THE BAYRIDGE AREA! read more

Mimi's Nails - My silk powder tips. Done beautifully. Loved the way they came out. Always amazing - Nail Salons Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Great place! Not only is the staff super pleasant, but they also go an extra mile on every little detail: new pumice attachments for every client, extra few minutes on leg massage, extra attention to make sure your nails and toes look their best, and definitely no rush to go through as many people as possible. Amazing service and prices! read more

have always found this place just OK. Not terrible, but not great either. The leg massages are consistently too hard in the wrong spots (coming from someone who used to be a dancer and appreciates deep tissue massages), and when you ask them to tone down, they comply for 15 seconds, then forget. I don't think they've been trained in massage, otherwise i don't think they'd lay in to the saphenous nerve the way they do... I never quite understood why this place is always crowded, and Royal Nail down the street can always accommodate me. The only thing I can think of is location location location. Also, they wear gloves, which I understand, but it takes something away from the foot massage (which was mediocre to begin with). read more

Oh how I miss Mimi's! I moved out of the neighborhood 2 years ago and I haven't been able to find a nail spot that comes close to Mimi's. They greet you with smiles and literally every employee in the place says, "Hiiiiieeeeee!" in unison. Same thing when you leave. I've gotten manis, pedis, massages, and bikini waxes. Never a disappointment. read more

This is one of the cleanest, friendliest and fairly priced nail salons in Brooklyn. While there are always a couple of workers who slack off, for the most part all of the women spend time with you and give great massages. I love the spa pedicures. They are long and force you to enjoy yourself. Mimi runs a tight ship and always wants her customers to feel supported. read more

Great place to get groomed so you don't look like a slob and the back rub at the end is a plus

I wanted to surprise and pay for both mine & my boyfriends spa pedicures so I sneaked the card to the lady in charge (not Mimi) in the corner of the store right before we sat down. During the pedicures I couldn't help but notice most of the employees standing around and sitting in the corner where I gave the lady my credit card. This was weird to me cause I never see them sitting around all together talking. They made it obvious they were preoccupied w/ something because they kept staring at the floor. I was in the pedicure chair already so I couldn't get up to go see. The next day I come to find out I dropped my credit card in that exact corner and someone else other than me (one of the employees) used it. My credit card company called me there were large amounts charged at food places, $500 at CVS and a about $200 on a bunch of things bought at SPA place (could they make it more obvious) Not pointing any fingers but if the shoe fits.... The police are doing an investigation on it and if I were them I would be worried because identity theft is considered a felony in NY, not that they would know that cause they're all immigrants. You would think if you drop your credit card in a nail salon, the employees would give it back to u, not crowd around it, pick it up and use it. I will never go there again and I would definitely recommend watching your purses and money around those employees. Not only are they expensive but they steal credit cards too meanwhile I gave them a big tip. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Disgusting. read more

If you are a regular Mimi treats you great, If you're not, well better find a new place. Okay mani/pedi, but had to wait at least twenty minutes while regulars were walking in and getting service right away. I finally set down to get my tips on when another regular came in, and i was kicked out of my chair to have the regular be serviced, who was also getting tips. They had already started taking off my previous nail polish, so didn't want to just leave. After another 20 minutes of sitting in the corner, Mimi came over and I told her that I wanted just to get the rest of my polish off and leave, for I was annoyed and tired of waiting, not to mention that the person i came with (a regular) had been done for a long time. I finally got into a chair, and despite me saying I didn't want to have tips put on anymore because it had taken too long, the nail tech under Mimi's direction put them on. Then I was overcharged...84 for a pedi and set? I don't think so. I will never go back and would advise others to do the same. read more

I have been going to Mimi's for over 20 years - since she opened the first store and it can not be beat. Sure over the years (once in a blue moon) you get a new girl or someone that is not so great but Mimi always knows. They either get it together or they do not stay with her long. If your not happy she always does what she can to accommodate. They are very inexpensive, average or less than, for Brooklyn and Much Cheaper than Manhattan and they offer more for the money. Mimi is always trying to incorporate something different into the experience. I've had mani/pedis all over the country and she is the least expensive, the best service and that chemical smell in most places does not exist here. My biggest problem is that she is not open on Sundays so if I can not get there on a Sat or weeknight I skip the mani/pedi all together - I would rather not have it than have it done anywhere else. read more
