Service quality and treatment is pathetic They dont accept Zelle anymore and the only way to pay is cash and card ($1 extra) I said i need to go to my car to get extra cash - she said leave some cash and what if you dont come back !!!!! Wanted to express my sincere appreciation for the incredible job SuSan did on my hair. Her talent and expertise truly shine through in every detail on mine for over 8 years now and our first haircut for baby Mira. Not only did SuSan listen attentively to the requests, but she also provided valuable suggestions that enhanced the overall results for both of us. Her attention to detail and precision in creating the perfect cut and style were impressive. Moreover, a warm and friendly demeanor made the entire experience enjoyable and comfortable especially for our 18 month old baby girl. The professionalism and passion for the craft are evident, and it sets SuSan apart as an exceptional hairstylist. I will definitely be recommending this stylist to my friends and family, as I believe everyone deserves to experience this exceptional skills. Keep up the fantastic work! read more

Mimi's Cuts - Professionals in action. Not a single tear during our first haircut. - Hair Salons Near Me - San Ramon, California

Mimi's Cuts at the Market Place Plaza in San Ramon is definitely open. Google site says Permanently Closed. This salon has great prices & provides really quick service. I used to visit this salon a lot from 2011 to 2021. I stopped by today without an appointment. I can literally walk to this location. Susan, the owner, covered my many grey hairs quickly & very economically. 1/2 of what Danville salons charge. Also, in 1/2 the time other salons take. This is not a social kind of salon. Not much chit-chat unless you yourself start a basic conversation. Even then you'll get very little responses. Also, for petite Asian ladies that work @ this salon, they are extremely LOUD spoken. This can be intimidating. I just went in saying "whatever cover the grey." Susan said "not whatever you have to give me some idea." In other words hair stylist hear this a lot. Find a picture of what you'd like done & show it to the stylist read more

Came here a few days ago to get a haircut, it was around four o'clock in the afternoon, but they were closed. There was a sign posted saying sorry had to close early, something came up. I walked away a little disappointed, but not mad because the hours listed indicates that they close at 7 o'clock. I just figured maybe there was an emergency which would be understandable. I returned today in attempts to get a haircut, I was approached by the owner and was told that she couldn't help me. She went on to explain that the other girl that works at the salon is on vacation and that she's alone and she has an appointment coming up for a hair coloring and that she won't have time to take me, I explained to her it's only 2 o'clock and you're supposed to close at 7, she went on to say that she has to close early because she has something to do at home. Honestly, I was in shock and told her I came here the other day and you had a sign posted on your door that you had to close early. She insisted that she was going to be closing early and she couldn't take me, as I was leaving there was a customer sitting waiting to be serviced, as I walked out I said I'll never come back here again. Customer said it'd be easier if you make an appointment. Her salon advertises on the window that walk-ins are welcome, I guess they're not. It's a very unprofessional way to conduct business. read more

If all you want is a basic cut, they will do a decent job. Though one would ask if you would pay that price tag. I went for a perm. Oh my goodness. This was a disaster. There was NO curls at the end of the 99 minute process. The woman apparently in charge told me that she didn't see if there my hair was curly when this other lady who did my hair tried to tell me my above-the-shoulder length was too long for the perm. My hair was frizzy and not curly. They tried to tell me that I can come back in six weeks for another perm for half the price.... To make up for a perm I regretted going to them for. read more

This business should shut down. Susan from Mimi's Cut messed up with my hair big time and made me bald. I asked for a trim. She kept on chopping off my hair and chopped off 80% of my hair in the crown area. I came home crying and have been not able to step out. read more

I've had some bad haircuts, but this one took the cake. I was kind of wondering if I was being punked, but alas there were no cameras. The older woman who cut my hair seemed to not give a rat's ass as to what the person receiving the haircut wanted. She went to town on my hair as if I had said "Do your worst" and she did just that. I asked for a mid fade with a hard part, I got nothing of the sort, I would call it the "Hedgehog" I think she had a kind of 1983 boy band look, but alas I'm 57. I not only will not go back, but I would urge anyone else to stay away like it has the plague. Oh, and when I paid, she grunted loudly at me and held the sign saying "Please tip your stylist" in my face. Classy. read more

Amazing hair cut at a very decent price. Susan is the best. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted it and took her time to make sure it came out right. Definitely coming back here and recommend it. read more

Love my new haircut! It was a last minute decision, I walked in they didn't have time for a wash but was able to do a cut and style. I have a lot of hair and she cut 4" off and added layers so it took a while. Professional, quiet, and a wonderful hour to just relax and get my hair done. Will definitely be coming back! read more

NEVER have I ever experienced such rude behavior during a kid's hair cut as I did today. They don't tell you up front what the price of the haircut will be. Their rates on the board say 19 and up for boys. But they decide arbitrarily how much up they will charge. the lady is loud and confrontational. My son, 7, has thicker and longer hair than most boys, we went in for a trim and nothing fancy. I specifically mentioned he is a boy. So I am thinking they will charge me slightly more than $19 to justify the longer hair. But they don't say a thing throughout the time and then when the billing is done hey charge him a woman's hair cut charge of $30. More than 50% of what is on the board. So I said they should let customers know ahead of cutting how much they can expect to be charged for the hair cut as opposed to slapping the charge at the very end. She kept yelling that I didn't ask and so they didn't bother to tell me. I said i see they want to charge higher but how much higher should be set as an expectation by them as they know what it will take to cut the hair. Her response was next time ask about the price before we cut his hair. By no means I am ever going back there but this is just ridiculous. Because they could have charged me any price at the end and I would have to pay because he has longer hair. It's not the first time my son has got a hair cut and all other places have been super nice and even appreciated that he is different and given me a fair price upfront or stuck to the price listed. The most infuriating part was when the lady said, in front of my son, that no one can tell if he is a boy or a girl, this is after I specifically mentioned as soon as I walked in that he is a boy. I was fuming and walked away telling her rest assured I am never coming back there. Absolutely horrid experience for a kid . No gentleness and then to hear this kind of nonsense like his hair is his fault. Never going back there. As a service industry, SHAME on them for being so callous and inarticulate in front of a child who has a different look. Service: Haircut read more

Susan is the abslote best! I have been going to Mimis cuts since they opened about 10 years ago. Susan remembers your name even after months of not going in for a cut! What a horrible experience!!! My ear drum is really itchy after getting hair dyed by a stylist, I think it infected now. On top of that, my scalp is uncomfortable. I will have my ear exam tomorrow. I went to have my hair dye today, not only she is rude, when it's time to rinse away all the chemicals, not only she didn't use hand to prevent hair dye from flowing into my ear, she use the shower head to spare water directly into my ear. The first time, I thought it was accidentally, after awhile I told her water got into my ear. Not sure if she got mad. But when switched to the right side, again she sprayed water directly into my ear again. My ear were filled with hair dye, I have to ask her to stop so I can clean up my ears. read more

Suzanne can't cut hair. Jeez I needed my hair shape fixed. She not only didn't fix the shape but she made other things worse! She then was trying to justify the results..as if I'm retarded Lots of stylists out there who are not good at what they do! It's shameful read more

I was helped by Susan. She was the best and did an amazing job. Definitely will be coming back again!

$19 for a men's haircut. Turned out okay. Received a number of compliments. Fade was on point. Cut a little uneven.

Really awful cut.,Regretting why decision to get a trim. my whole hair looks like cat hair. Never ever going to this lady ever.

Not satisfied with the haircut at all. Poor Customer service, didn't feel like a valued customer. Not going back for the haircut next time.

Their customer service and their service in general is horrible. I took my daughter for hair cut l. They just see you as if why I have come and don't even tell how long it takes. I waited for more than 15 mins. She started pulling her hair so bad that I was shocked. Tears were rolling off my daughter's eyes. If a stylist doesn't know how to detangle, what's the point of even going to this place. read more

Regrets!!! You know you just got a horrible haircut when your significant other tells you your new hair style makes you look like an old lady! Unfortunately, this is what happened to me. For the next few weeks, I'll most likely have to put my hair in a ponytail bc I got the worst haircut ever! I hate to downgrade my review for Mimi's Cuts, but it is necessary. I think I will stick to Amy in the future if I ever return to Mimi's Cuts. I once had my haircut by Kim and it was OK, but this time Kim did a horrible job! My hair was really long and I wanted to cut it a good 5 inches. I told her I wanted layers and how I wanted my bangs but the cut turned out to be a disaster. I wasn't asking for anything special, so I'm not sure where the miscommunication was. Basically, I was in a big of a time crunch so after the initial cut and blow dry, I went home and put my hair up in a ponytail. I had a few appointments in the day, so there was no time to fuss with my new hairstyle nightmare. However, as the day went on, I kept thinking the cut was so bad looking. I made my mind up to go back in the afternoon and have it fixed. When I went back to ask Kim to give my hair a better shape, she quickly helped me. She was insinuating that I didn't specifically ask for the cut to frame my face. I'm just thinking, aren't you supposed to know how to make a hairstyle fit that person's face? She cut more hair, giving my look a bit of improvement, but that's not say much. After Kim cut my hair for the second time that day, she told me I didn't have to pay. Damn right, I'm not paying again! I had zero intention of that! My cut cost me $22. I know, I'm being frugal about getting my hair cut at these low end salons. Maybe it's time I went to a fancier place where people know how to cut hair! When my other half saw me later that evening, he told me the haircut was the worst he's ever seen on me and I totally agree with him. There's no sugar coating it. Lesson learned - do not get my hair cut by Kim at Mimi's Cuts ever again!!! Btw, if you're used to being in a Vietnamese nail shop, you know all the women are talking crap about you or the other patrons in Vietnamese. Be prepared for that here, since all the hairstylist are speaking to each other in Vietnamese too. I'm sure I gave them a lot to talk about. read more

We were in town and it was one of those days that we just needed a haircut. So we went in and Simone got the cut she wanted. As for me, was I satisfied? Well - I guess I am in the middle sitting on the fence on that one. My hair cut was good. I have to say I am not upset or angry about it. The only problem I had with it was that before my hair cut, I explained to the woman that I had a cowlick on the left side in the front of my forehead. I guess that went out the other ear and I will explain why in a few later. Also I told her in the beginning of our haircut that I wanted long bangs. When she cut the length of my hair, I thought to myself, "Great, she got the length right." Then when she was ready to cut my bangs, she measured it exactly the length we agreed on. But then it ended up becoming short bangs. Dont know how that was translated in that communication effort. The reason I dont like short bangs, is because of my COWLICK. It seemed like she forgot about my cowlick and did not work around my hair/head issue. Now my bangs separate in the area near my cowlick. People around me or know me say they cannot see the problem. But because it is my own head and hair, I see it self consciously. Im just insecure with that because its my head/hair. Well - I know hair can grow. Im not going to be a drama queen. Plus people say its a cute hair cut. People love it on me. HAIR GROWS back again. SO far today, its been 4 days and I feel okay. Im happy now with my hair. Gave the two hair stylists a tip. Yeah Simone got a good hair cut. I needed to commend that one. read more

Wow! Totally not what I expected. (in a good way though) I decided to drive around this cute plaza in San Ramon and find a moderately priced salon. My hair was getting buck wild! I saw a hip salon with super nice looking haired ladies. But too pretty would cost me more than a pretty penny. Soo, just a few stores down, I spot Mimi's Cuts for an advertised $15 for a hair cut. So I tried it! It was just about 5:30p, 1/2 hour they were going to close but the two ladies told me to wait and they would take care of me. The girl who cut my hair was Susan. SUPER NICE!!!!! I absolutely loved how she listened to everything I told her I wanted my hair to be and how she took her time. At one point of the hair cutting process she was speaking to the other lady in another language and the other lady comes over and looks at my hair. I got worried and asked, "Is everything OK?" Susan told me that she was showing her how to correctly cut long layers. Whew! I thought they were talking smack. But no, Susan did such a good job and although they were closed, several people walked in asking if she could do a quick cut. She said yes but still gave me the attention. I love that. It's nice when you're in the chair and the stylist talks to you and actually pays attention to you. If I didn't live so damn far from this place, I'd definitely come back. Susan, you're awesome!! (and I absolutely love my do) read more

Its my husband's 2nd time calling to ask if they're busy and they would just ask him to come over. Everytime there's like 2 or 3 people ahead of him. I don't understand why they couldn't just tell him that over the phone and ask him to go at a later time. read more

Worst hair cut for men. The lady who cut my hair was short, stout and old. Didn't get her name - but she made me look like a hedgehog. Didn't expect much for a $19 hair cut, but did not expect to get my hair messed up so bad. Had to book another appointment with a professional to fix the mess. I am surprised by the 1 and 2 star reviews. I have gotten my hair cut at Mimi's for at least 10 years without a problem. Amy and Tracy were my favorites but unfortunately no longer work there. Other high-end salons and stylists in San Ramon didn't want my business, so I lost interest in looking a new place. I stopped by Mimi's today and the first time Susan cut my hair. When she was done, I had such a big grin. Wow, it was the best in years. Thank you Susan for the perfect haircut. read more

Went there the first time for a haircut and color. Thu did a good job- she listened to what I wanted but also gave her opinion. And my hair is not easy to cut- a lot of hair plus thick hair shaft. She cut my hair first, then color. After that, she made final touches before and after the blowdry. I am very happy with her work and plan to go back. They take credit cards; you can tip with cash if you like. read more

I promise you that the fact that this establishment bears the same name as I do is not the ONLY factor that caused me to get my hair cut here. I consulted their other Yelp reviews and even watched two or three people leave and checked out their hairstyles (they looked pretty cute) before deciding to try them out. The two stylists working that morning were both very friendly. My stylist asked me what I what kind of a haircut I wanted and REALLY listened to what I had to say. I had been growing out my bangs, but changed my mind and was ready to hack them all off again to keep them out of my face. She talked with me about what style would look best on me and be easiest to maintain. She did a great job on my hair and I have received compliments ever since, so I think that qualifies them for four stars. I noticed quite a few of their customers were men the morning I was there. read more

When I called the salon to set up a schedule for Japanese Straightening and mentioned that my hair is thin, Susan asked me to come in so that she can see my hair. When we went there on a weekend. She wants me to come back on a week day because they are busy on the weekends. I told her that we are going somewhere on my day off and then she offered to come in 2 hours earlier to work on my hair so that we can still go somewhere on my bday. I was soo happy on that day because my hair is all straightened up with style. She asked me to not wash my hair for three days. Three days after, I was so excited to wash my hair because of the oiliness feeling and sweat. After I washed my hair it became wavy and not straight at all. :( Susan is very very nice no questions asked but my hair doesn't really look like it was Japanese straightened after washing. read more

Susan rocks! I have been going here for over a year now, recently moved to San Leandro from Danville and still make it a point to come over to this side when my hair needs a little tame and trim. Wow. What a terrible place to get a haircut. I said give me a number 4 on the side, take a half inch off the top, and blend the rest. First time she didnt cut any off the top. I told her to take a little more off the top, she took 2 inches off the top. Now I'm sitting here with a buzz cut. Thank god my hair grows back fast but there have been very few times i've been depressed after getting a haircut. Don't come here. Also they dont turn the AC on when it's 90 degrees outside, so I was sweating profusely while sitting in the barber's chair. Never again. read more

Ladies!!! DONT COME HERE. They will RUIN your hair. I received my first HORRIBLE haircut here ever. They didn't corporate after I said I was unhappy with it and it was ugly, they insisted it looked good, even after me and my boyfriend argued with them explaining I am very unhappy with it, and I didn't receive a refund for the $25 shitty haircut. I had decided to wash my hair and oh my gosh...it was like 30min of heaven including a massage. So I went to mimi's only this once but then decided to cut my hair shorter a month after and came back. Still quite a deal for haircuts. Weekends are a bit busy but they usually have three people cutting hair. Try to come in on weekdays for the quickest service. Nice ladies here cutting hair and they seem like they can do any style. read more

It's not a fancy salon, but one of those places intended to give cheap haircuts. The job they do is much better then any cheap haircuts, and even better then medium fancy salons. For $15 you get a better job that you would get for $60 (and I give them a huge tip). I cannot compare to upscale salons though, I don't go there. I prefer my hair cut up to my preference (shaggy bob), with no styling, so it would look like I would wear it everyday. No coloring, just a high value haircut. I found it challenging for some hairdressers, because they may not do it right, and then try to fix the shape with gel and hairdryer, leave alone changing for a more vivid color for better looks. Some places don't know how to use razor to cut shaggy bob. But hairdressers here know how to cut is right and it also looks beautiful. I don't go to cut hair very often (always afraid it would be screwed up), but I came back here once my hair got longer. My first hairdresser's name was Lisa, the second one I forgot to ask. read more
