This restaurant was extremely dirty every inch there was dust there or paint chips anything you could think of that needed to be repaired needed to be repaired. Went there for lunch on Labor Day. We weren't sure what to expect since it was a holiday. Dining room was about half full. We had a short wait only because we wanted a booth. The hostess was pleasant and seated us within five minutes. It took a bit of time before our server came by for our drink order. She seemed harried and rigid in her demeanor. She brought our drinks, and we ordered. We ordered the Mushroom Brie Burger and the Mediteranean Salad with Roasted Chicken. The food took thirty minutes. During that time she brought a muffin that went with one of the entrees and dressing. A food runner brought our food. She seemed really rushed. She asked if I wanted pepper on my salad. Put some on until I told her when and off she went. Problem was that my salad was wrong. Our server came by and realized as soon as she saw the salad that it wasn't the right one. She took it and with apologies said she would have it fixed. She came back shortly with the right one. The food was good. The burger cooked correctly. The salad was delicious with pieces of artichoke, blue cheese and kalamata olives! Tender slices of chicken on top! The muffin was pumpkin with a crumble crust! The service is exceptional and the friendly staff makes sure you are happy with your food and their service!! The manager on our last visit, Elvira came over to see if we were happy with our meal and Myra, our waitress made sure we had refills and plenty of their excellent muffins and breads!! I like the salads and I always ask if they will leave out the onions and I so enjoy the quinoa​ they add as well. Wow. You really do get scammed with how much the food cost and how little food you get. Pictures on menu look normal then they bring out your food and it's tiny. First walking in, it's very pretty. And the hostess were so nice and friendly. Then that about all the good stuff. Our waitress was not friendly and seemed like she didn't want to be there. Never got her name either. The food took so long to come out and again when it did, it was so little of serving. The French toast thing I got was good but not hot at all and slightly cold in some areas. Mimi's it's been a long time! Came on a weekday and it wasn't really busy. The host was VERY friendly and let us pick our seat, he also thanked us as we left. We went between breakfast and lunch but opted for the breakfast. My mom had the oatmeal and she enjoyed it (hard to mess up oatmeal and fruit) our server was very nice so A+ for the service. I had the spinach and egg crepes covered in a mornay cheese sauce. The egg was perfect, spinach and onion severely under cooked and tough. In my experience sweet crepes are made with wheat flour and sweetened and savory crepes like I had are made with buckwheat and are unsweetened, this was the opposite a savory crepe that was INCREDIBLY SWEET, I basically ate the insides and one piece of tough spinach, all in all I maybe dug out 2 eggs a small amount of Swiss, 4 tiny tomatoes and left my crepe shell. I've always loved Mimi's in Southern California locations, but my experience at the old and tired Glendale restaurant was horrible. My favorite on the menu is the Quiche Lorraine which always came with a slice of fresh quiche, a small cup of fruit and one of their wonderful muffins. What I got was a full mini pie type quiche full of half cooked custard containing large chunks of partially cooked bacon instead of ham. I had a pile of rubbery bacon fat stacked on my plate that I had to discard from my mouth. No muffin, no fruit. The waitress, Taloni, served our meals and never returned to check to see if we needed anything. We were one of three tables occupied in the restaurant. She brought an ice tea refill as we were looking for the check. I was a server in the industry for 28 years and know this is not good service! What happened to this place? Now mind you I haven't been here in a really long time, but it sure isn't the place that it used to be. The main dining area floor has a lot of duct, tape, and cardboard taped to the floor all over the place. The tables are sticky. The chairs are filthy. And the carpeting in the dining area adjacent to the hostess station is smelly, stained badly and disgusting. And who uses whipped margarine on their waffles and pancakes??? For the prices that are charged for these breakfasts, it should be real butter!! We got a few buttermilk spice muffins that totally lacked flavor, except for a few little pieces of nuts, and a very light sprinkle cinnamon on the top.
