Was in the store Tuesday June 10 and had a most horrible experience with one of the female sales…read moreassociates - I say sales associate because "customer service representative" is definitely not appropriate for this woman. I've been "helped" by her before and had the same experience, so I doubt it was coincidence that she was having another off day. I came into the store to return a defective item, and there were two women standing there chatting - I was not greeted when I came in and they made no effort to see if I needed any help - I had to approached them and interrupt their conversation (there were no customers in the store). Then one of them decided to acknowledge my presence and proceeded to tell me that the item that was broken was "not their problem, you broke it, not us". I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars at this store and have never returned anything, so when I come in with a product that literally broke the first time I tried to use it, that is not the response to offer. I pretty much said that, she made a phone call, and whoever was on the phone told her to take the return (which I exchanged btw for a more expensive item and paid the difference). This sort of "service" seems to be a bit of a theme in reading the reviews, and as much as I am a loyal Henry's customer, I will really think twice about coming back to Oakville because of this woman's attitude. Perhaps she's family and cannot be reprimanded, but if I owned the store, I'd make sure she knows her attitude is an issue!

For me the first time I went it was a bit difficult finding the spot in the plaza, so to save future customers from circling around it is near the Popeyes, in the corner next to the bank!

He has a sign outfront advertising passport photos for a reasonable price, and that's why I went in. In and out in 5 minutes. He took the photo, printed out 2 copies, stamped the backs, and wrote a receipt. CASH ONLY, and the passport photos cost $12 total which I thought was an excellent deal for on the spot. The photos he took were accepted immediately and without question by the Passport Canada office, which is worth much for than $12. If you have ever had a passport photo taken only to be told something is not quite right, you know the benefit of having an experienced photographer take a photo devoid of emotions and then scale/crop/print to the exacting measurements they require. It appears that a large portion of his business model is for retouching old and damaged photos. Basically a professional Photoshopper. I didn't use him for this service, but I do lots of Adobe Photoshop work and his retouches looked pretty good. He had a few certificates apparently for awards. But for passport photos, he is cheap, knowledgeable, and just a nice dude.

I call up Duncan and Wright. Indeed they had the battery. The guy on the phone was quite egotistical that "of course we have the battery, we're your local camera shop" Well the reason they had it in stock is they're price is $20 more than EVERYBODY on it. That's 33% more. So they're in stock because they're too expensive. Of course I bought it though. I was travelling and needed a second battery asap. (I just recently bought the camera elsewhere and they couldn't guarantee that they could get me a second battery in time), and couldn't risk I could buy it when I got to my destination. While not everything is priced as outrageously as this battery, I will not even consider going there after getting ripped off and dealing with their you should only shop at your local guys regardless of price attitude. I have bought gear in the past from Henry's, Vistek, B&H in NYC, and McBain Camera (another Foto Source store in AB) whom all have given me better service at a better price.

They are professional and love their work and it really shows. There's a mirror with combs and spraybottle in case you want to do some last min touch ups. They give directions for hair, pose, as well as some post shoot touchups. The whole process took less than 15 minutes and the photos always turn out really nice. I've had a few people see my passport and ask where I've gotten the photo done. Their prices are great too. My dad got lazy once and went somewhere else closer and he paid more for 1 copy than we usually do for 2. We haven't gone anywhere else ever since. This time I ended up getting two digital photos, but you have the choice of digital or 2 hard copy, and you can always come back later if you decide you also want the hard copy. Keep in mind it's cash only. They also do photo for babies. My go to spot for photos, highly recommend.
