I just had the rudest encounter with a female employee there. Terrible customer service. Dec, 23rd 2025

Was in the store Tuesday June 10 and had a most horrible experience with one of the female sales associates - I say sales associate because "customer service representative" is definitely not appropriate for this woman. I've been "helped" by her before and had the same experience, so I doubt it was coincidence that she was having another off day. I came into the store to return a defective item, and there were two women standing there chatting - I was not greeted when I came in and they made no effort to see if I needed any help - I had to approached them and interrupt their conversation (there were no customers in the store). Then one of them decided to acknowledge my presence and proceeded to tell me that the item that was broken was "not their problem, you broke it, not us". I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars at this store and have never returned anything, so when I come in with a product that literally broke the first time I tried to use it, that is not the response to offer. I pretty much said that, she made a phone call, and whoever was on the phone told her to take the return (which I exchanged btw for a more expensive item and paid the difference). This sort of "service" seems to be a bit of a theme in reading the reviews, and as much as I am a loyal Henry's customer, I will really think twice about coming back to Oakville because of this woman's attitude. Perhaps she's family and cannot be reprimanded, but if I owned the store, I'd make sure she knows her attitude is an issue! read more

Great personal service for a technologically challenged senior to print photos from an iPhone.

I would really recommend this Henry branch because of the customer service by Tom. He was very professional and super helpful. He guided me to find the right lens for my camera. I even found better prices at other stores and he was able to price match it for me. Overall amazing experience and best customer service, compared to any other camera store. read more

He's not just there to sell gear. Passionate about photography, he also want his clients to be happy & works hard to build trust and a good professional relationship. The past two years I have been going to Henry's Oakville for all my equipment needs- first as a hobbyist and now as a full time professional photographer; and I truly could not say enough about the team at this location. Sig, who has gone above and beyond to help me out with every query, every concern and with all of my purchases, has done so not as some sales person at some store, but almost as a family member or a friend who is genuinely interested in your wants and needs : the number one reason that makes me go back to this particular store again and again and again! The staff seemed they wanted to help but all the Kodak print machines were in disrepair. Imagine not repairing a USB port. Moving to the next one the guy in front of me was having wifi issues. Can't get USB and wifi working in 2016! Went to Wal-Mart and had no issues. Staff replenished the print ribbon quickly and politely during large run. read more

I've been in this store and purchased several thousand dollars of equipment from it before. But today is the last day I will do business with them. Why? Because the owner is extremely rude and does not care about his customers. Here's what happened: I rode my bike into the store with my daughter and to ensure I did not get it stolen I planned to lock it up to a bench in front of the store. To my surprise a person (later to reveal himself to be the owner) walked out and asked me if I minded locking my bike up somewhere else. I said that I did and that it was an expensive bike and I wanted to have it in view. He then responded "if you lock it up there I will get it ripped off" all the while shoving a biscuit in his mouth. An argument of course ensued as I wasn't going to get pushed around by someone I'd never met. In the process I asked if he owned the store, he said "yes" and then I explained that I was coming in to buy a camera and would no longer be doing so. He explained that "he didn't care". So in summary, rude owner who does not care about his customers and who doesn't give a hoot about them or the money they spend at this store. I'd recommend you shop elsewhere. Service WITHOUT a smile. Probably the same sales person that reviewer Richie S. dealt with. Seemed like the senior most sales person at the store. Not sure if he is jaded by dealing with people who know less about photography than his exalted self, but I felt like talking to me was the lowest point in his day. All I asked for was a camera battery and a lens for my OM-D. He couldn't care less. The reason I try and go to stores rather than buy online is for the personal touch. I like to support neighborhood stores. But this one has lost a customer. read more

I went in to Henry's today to purchase a camera my husband had chosen yesterday. I had a printout with all the information. The salesperson who had helped him was with another customer, and there was a second customer waiting for him as well. I asked a second salesperson if she could help me, and she said I needed to wait for the salesperson who had sold the camera to my husband. There was a third salesperson who didn't have any customers for the entire half an hour I waited. I understand the need for salespeople to be credited for a sale they have made, but an agreement amongst staff to provide basic service to a customer returning to make a designated purchase would provide much better service. read more

I returned a camera and various other equipment I had bought, after finding a better deal at another store the following day. I came to make the return and the store manager (I believe he was the manager) was visibly angry that I had wasted his sales persons time, as he put it. He did not attempt to match any price, and stated he would easily sell the camera I had bought. I will NEVER again shop at Oakville Henry's, and I suggest no one does. read more
