It was clean, and our greeter was kind. Our waitress was patient as we took our time deciding what to order, and we also placed a to-go order for my aunt. There was a small mix-up with the food, but it was quickly resolved with no fuss. My mom ordered the fried flounder with fries and coleslaw, and I had the same, but swapped the fries for fried okra. My husband went all out with a ribeye steak, fried scallops, fried okra, a side salad, and a bowl of clam chowder. The fish was fried perfectly--just a tad more salt would have made it ideal (though that's an easy fix), and next time I'll remember to ask for tartar sauce or hot sauce. The okra was crispy and satisfying, and the standout for my husband was the clam chowder, which I agree was rich and flavorful. More than the food, this place holds special memories for my mom, and now it holds one for me too. It's the kind of spot that becomes part of the family story. Every time we're in town, I'll be sure to take her back--for the fish, the view, and the memories.
