I keep wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it isn't worth it. Took my car in for an oil gasket change and to check why the check engine light was coming on. When I picked up the car, they ran the diagnostics for the check engine light. The codes were listed on my invoice but nothing was really checked. They just cleared the codes. Then the service manager tells me he took the car for a 5 mile ride to make sure it was okay but when he was driving the VSA light and the triangle light came on. Didn't say anything about checking out why this happened. Told me to drive it awhile and maybe they will go off. What service place sends you home with warning lights still showing on the vehicle? I don't really think this place knows how to repair cars. I told them I would more than likely be calling on Monday to make yet another appointment and the service manager said, "no problem, we won't charge you for another diagnostic check". I would hope not. They should have fixed everything before I left. I was so taken aback I didn't know what to do. Yes, I should have demanded they repair the car then and there. However, it was Friday at 5:00 and I believe their mechanics had already left for the day. They have had more service managers in the short time we have been taking in our car. I'm in the market for a new car and love Honda but knowing how this place operates makes me realize this is not the place to purchase a new car. If their sales force is like their service people, how could you justify buying a car from them? Honda called to check on our satisfaction of service and my husband told them what happened. They said they would call on Monday. So far no phone call. We will be calling them today. Anyone know of a good mechanic that is reliable and works on Hondas? read more

I went to the dealership to look for a new can and i came across a car i really liked. I told Kori that i 100 percent wanted to purchase the car. We did paperwork and i gave her my personal information. After that she told me to come back the next day to figure out financing. Having moved back "up north," from time focused on my career in the Twin Cities, little things like finding a place to service a vehicle can be difficult. I am an hour away from either of the two nearest Honda dealers and driving an Acura, its important for me that any more complicated service matters be addressed by a Honda/Acura tech. I reached out to Mills Honda of Brainerd. The service staff at Mills was extremely accommodating! Due to an illness that requires my vehicle be in top running condition, the staff was more than willing to work me in due to my time flexibility. They took time to check and re-check their work to ensure that the right assessment could be made and correct the issue with my car. Terrible dealership. Tried to buy a used car from Zach who told me three different times over a period of three days that the car had already been sold, or that there was a customer coming in to buy it, so they couldn't promise it would be available to test drive. I was coming from Mpls so it was a 2hr drive for me. Also telling me in the same breath that it wasn't ready for me to test drive yet as it was still going through inspection and detailing. He changed his story three times before I even set out to test drive the car. I couldn't believe the tactics he tried to create desperation to get the car BEFORE I EVEN TEST DROVE IT. He is dishonest and wasted three days of my time. Learned my lesson. read more

Mills offered me a competitive price on a 2017 lease. Dane is the Sales Manager and he was very easy to deal with over email. I didn't feel like I was pulling teeth to get the deal in writing ahead of time. There was no pressure to purchase add-ons. Joe was my sales guy, very friendly and knowledgeable. At one point the sales team all came out to shake my hand and thank me for doing business with them. It was a great buying experience and a good lease value. It was worth the 4 hour round trip. The price of the used car we were looking at was increased by $5000, as we sat in the sales persons office because 'they made a mistake' on their website. The car was listed as 'certified' on the website, but the salesperson could not confirm this was the case. The video on the website, said the car has less than 20,000 miles on it, when it fact, it was slightly less 40,000. Ok, is the car certified so a warranty applies? Not sure, it hasn't been checked out yet? (But the website said it was certified? Sloppy deal. I started searching for a specific Honda Civic. I contacted Mills Honda as well as another Honda dealership looking to get the best deal. After going back-and-forth between the dealerships Mills Honda not only had the best deal (which was offered up front) but also was outstanding in their customer service and response time. They had all of the paperwork drawn up for me by the time I got there. I did a test drive to make sure everything was in order as far as the vehicle was concerned. Then drove off in my new vehicle in less than an hour. I had the opportunity to meet the staff who were all very accommodating but specifically worked with Andrew who was outstanding and did not act like a salesman. He was honest and had integrity something I've only seen in a few car salesman in my life. It's about as rare as seeing 18 point buck. I have checked the reviews that populate for Mills Honda and they seem low (there's only a few at the time of this writing). However, if you look below there is a link to see unapproved reviews of which match the rating I am giving Mills Honda. Some of the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Call and leave a message and no one returns your phone call. Promised to receive information via e-mail and it's been a week and still no e-mail. Took the car in for repair of a catalytic converter. Was given an off brand converter and not even given the option of purchasing the Honda part. Had to go back in less than 3 weeks later because of the same problem. They do not honor their work and make a lot of empty promises. Too bad because we are in the market for a new car. If they treat their customers this way how can I justify purchasing a new car from them. read more

I went in with a trade in and when I walked in, I felt I was set up for failure. They didn't work with me on price, I felt I was being talked down to. The person I started out with bailed with no notification of being gone and I worked with a complete stranger. They under cut me in my trade in via KBB. I work at a school HOURLY and I'm single. . . So, I know I don't have the income like a married couple. I'm working with the cards life has handed me. I'm trying to make it solo!! Thank you for reminding me I can't make it no matter how hard I try. It just broke my heart they wouldn't work with me. They never checked my credit or anything. I walked out in darn near tears and a broken heart again. The service guy who looked at my vehicle needs to work on mannerisms and pull the stick out of his ass. I'm a person. . . Not a dollar sign. Oh how I wish this could be a good review... and it could have been a good review, even a great review... but then they sold the car and it all went straight to the potty.... We stopped in knowing the car we wanted and having already shopped around. The manager gave us a great price on the spot and even offered us a fair trade price for our car. We called the next day stating we would purchase the car and would be back in just over a week (we live an hour and a half away).... so it was all negotiated, we showed up on the day... all seemed to be as we discussed... money for car... boom it was done. Happy ending right?? Within 2 hours we realized we had left CD's in our old car... 6 of them... all kids stuff so no one wanted them except our children who were absolutely beside themselves with grief (seriously, it was over the top)... so we tell them and we are assured by our new "on the ball" salesman that they would be retrieved.... phew... happy ending right?? So my husband deploys the next day (seriously, that happened.... which is why we couldn't just drive back and get them b/c we needed to drive to cities to catch a flight)... and I follow up.... they are still searching, searching searching... not sure how this is so difficult, but of course they assure us then put us off then assure us, put us off... seeing a theme here. Well surprise!!! They forgot to have us sign something on the paperwork so FedEx it to us with enclosed FedEx to return... great! You're enclosing our CD's in that FedEx right?? Nope... and of course if they want something from us we are supposed to jump on it, but we need something from them..... *** crickets*** So they finally fess up that they did not retrieve the CD's and they are gone. So I asked about installing a roof rack on the car for the same discount they had previously offered to install a trailer hitch... nope, not possible. We did sign the paperwork eventually and cut ties with this horrible train-wreck of a business. They offered nothing for being so inept with our request yet so demanding with theirs. Not even an oil change, nothing... Being in a small town, you would think they would want to help foster and maintain long-lasting relationships but sadly it seems they are ONLY interested in the sale... don't let the door hit you on the way out when you leave b/c they could care less about you then.... at least we got a decent price on the car, now we go elsewhere for service and when we need to buy again... read more

Poor buying and customer experience at Mills Honda. The salesman Corey and sales manager were far from accommodating. This was an Internet purchase and I drove several hundred miles because it looked to be a reasonable deal. In the end, it was not by the time we factored in the totality of the purchase and the entire experience. The purchase was not worth the hassle and now we will be spending money on minor repairs and for another key we weren't told was missing up front, etc. I always have felt good walking away when I'm purchased cars from other dealerships. This one I didn't have near that feel and warn others if the aren't looking to purchase brand new to get ALL the details about making an Internet purchase. They will NOT work with you once you get there when things are found on car that you weren't informed about and "missing" remote start keys, etc that are very costly to order. Their response was, well this is our rock bottom price and take it or someone else will. There was not anything about accommodation here. The salesman said he'd have the car all cleaned and detailed when I arrived, if detailed is the car ran through the car wash means detailed to you, that is a perfect indicator how your experience here will be. The only thing positive here was the gentleman who checked us out when we signed paperwork was so much more professional and even another salesman on the floor who was a little older was so pleasant to us compared to the two we dealt with. read more

THE. WORST. Wife brought in her car for an oil change (against my advice) they tried selling her a bunch crap that didn't need replacing and then the next day we had a huge oil spot in the garage. She brought it back and they said she needed a new oil pan!! We brought it to another place and they said they hadn't screwed the drain plug in properly and said everything looked fine. This Honda dealer in Baxter is the worst I have ever dealt with. We purchased a 2011 CRV with low miles and were told all is in great shape. No damage. Even got a damage report saying all clear. When we got the car home the next day we see hail damage all over the car. We were not told there was damage, nor was it listed on the Disclosure Information. I wanted to bring the car back the next day but was told I couldn't do that. They said they would only try to fix the damage as good as possible and that is it. If it doesn't come out perfect there is nothing they can do. I wanted them to forget trying to fix it and give us some cash back but again they said no. We have had the car for 6 or 7 weeks now but it's still not fixed. And they never cleaned the car up before we got it. It was dirty inside. They said they would run it through the car wash when it got warmer. We didn't see the damage to the outside of the vehicle the day of purchase because it was very cold and windy, wintery day. You would think the dealer would be honest. In a couple days I will contact Better Business Bureau and see what they think. Please beware of this Honda dealership. I will keep you informed of what the Better Business Bureau thinks of this. read more

I first leased my then brand new Honda by signing my name and walking out the door. They even filled the tank and made my first payment--and I played a spin the wheel game and won $25! After 3 years of follow up courtesy calls once a year to check on the opinion of the car and my annual birthday card as well as 6 oil changes-the car tells me when to do that-I decided to buy my leased vehicle. The customer representative was great, the loan officer was polite and respectful, the deal took about 1/2 hour, and again, I signed my name and walked out the door. The service department is efficient and doesn't cost anymore than any place else. Now, they still make that courtesy call to ask if I still like my car, any issues, etc. I got a good deal on a car I love that doesn't give me any headaches,sold by people that are polite, respectful and friendly-really, what else can you expect out of buying a car?
