I had to reach out several times requesting the written estimate. Charles did not even bother to respond to the first request for the estimate. Almost two weeks later, Charles finally texted he wouldn't provide a written estimate. Spoke to Brian. He requested a $250 deposit for the estimate. I refused. Then Charles texted he was swamped and couldn't do the work anyway. Total waste of my time. Bait and switch. Flaky. Fired these guys before they even started work.

Unfortunately we had a very unpleasant experience with Rod Vaca and Cambridge Home Renovations…read more This was surprising since we had a positive first impression of Rod, and were impressed with his reviews online. I strongly recommend against using Rod's services. We paid an unnecessarily high price for our reno, yet received low quality work, and went through an exhausting and unpleasant process. After more than 8 months, our renovation is still unfinished and Rod stopped responding. We are now pursuing legal action. We hired Rod in September 2020 to renovate our home. Rod's team worked on multiple rooms, doing woodwork, painting, and finally, doing a small remodel of our kitchen. Rod charged a high price for our kitchen, but he assured us of high quality workmanship. Then we went out of town and Cambridge Home Renovations performed poor quality work while we were gone. Our kitchen shelves were not level, the window trim had gaps, our range hood was twisted and not level, and they left an electric plate in the middle of our wall. Rod said deficiencies would be fixed later on the "Punch List" and told us our payment for the kitchen was due immediately. We trusted him and we paid him. It is 8 months later and Rod has not returned to fix the Punch List items. In addition to the kitchen deficiencies, he also left gaps in our expensive wainscoting, peeling paint in our bathroom, and a light switch that doesn't work. Sadly, Rod is attempting to gaslight us and tell us these deficiencies are not his responsibility. For example, he said the kitchen shelves are fine, yet they are very slanted. Rod refuses to acknowledge that they are not level. We cannot believe the thousands of dollars we paid for these low quality, slanted shelves. It has been a sad and exhausting experience. It's not worth your risk to work with him. If you do hire Rod Vaca, be prepared to actively manage his team and regularly perform QC checks on their work, otherwise they will cut corners. You will need to confront Rod regularly about the workmanship. Do not pay him until everything is adequate. Do not believe him when he says things will be fixed "on the Punch List". He will simply stop responding and leave your Punch List money behind. The most disappointing part is how Rod repeatedly gaslighted us. He will say that the deficiencies are due to problems with your home. He will make you feel uncomfortable and unreasonable when you highlight deficiencies. But unless you do this, Rod's team will do sloppy work whenever possible.

I will CERTAINLY use him again.. And I'm already planning two more projects! Thanks again Rod & CHR team.

He came over and told me that this was a different leak. After I saved up enough money, I was referred to an expert in basement leaks/foundations. He came over and completed the work. When he was doing the work, he proactively asked me who did the work previously. He said he was clearly not done by someone with knowledge of foundations. I have tried to resolve with Eric. At a minimum, I deserve a refund.

Even shopping for…read morea contractor for our project, we felt that most companies didn't value our time, or our job. Not so with D&R! Our project was not a major renovation, but we were never treated like the job was "too small." We had some flooring re-done in our basement, some custom shelving and a closet installed, and some minor touch up repairs done on the exterior of our house. From the day Eric was scheduled to come out for the estimate, we knew these guys were different. Not only did Eric show up on time for the estimate (when does THAT happen?), but he called about 5 minutes beforehand concerned that he might be late. We felt that after the meeting, the quote and pricing he offered were fair and put down a deposit. We never felt pressured to proceed, and we were provided all information we requested: evidence of proper licensing, insurance, a fully complete legal contract, etc. When the job began, the workers were as punctual as Eric was on day one, and were courteous. We also found the crew to be careful and detailed to do the job right. We never felt uncomfortable with them working in our home, and they were flexible on timing and agreed to some minor tweaks and changes to the project as the need arose. Thanks for doing a nice job!

Brian and the team arrived at 8am and started prep work, and rip out the old asphalt After a days weather break they arrived to apply the under layer for the asphalt and lay the new asphalt The work was finished to a high standard on day 2. We are really pleased with the work and would certainly recommend the Everest team for any asphalt job

Company representatives Patrick Quinn and Thomas Stokes indicated that the company is expanding…read moreinto Maryland. They subcontracted with DAG Construction. The project included: removal and replacement of 2 outside stairs, replacement of approx 20 feet of walkway with keystone, replacement of 40 feet of sidewalk with concrete, repointing red brick façade to approximately 3 feet above grade, repair of 3 small leaks noted at roof, and water proofing the basement by providing a below grade concrete skirt around 3/4 of the house. Waterproofing of the basement has not been effective. Visual exam of the exterior would indicate incomplete or unprofessional finishing of the exterior skirt at several locations which would be contributory to the leaking. Of the 3 leak spots of the roof, only 1 was effectively repaired, and an additional leak proximal to a previously noted chimney location has developed. Quinn and Thomas were notified by phone and promised a visit in two weeks. No show, no phone call. Subsequent phone calls (plural) and emails to the main office, Quinn/Stokes, and Dan of DAG have not been returned. Although Quinn explicitly stated several times satisfaction guaranteed, it should be recognized that the issue is efficacy, not aesthetics. Legal action will be necessitated, unfortunately.
