We got lucky and came on Friday before 11:00 am. There was no wait indoors and plenty of tables outside. We ordered right away and it came out pretty quickly. I had the Maynard's Special which was eggs scrambled with toasted pine nuts, spinach and goat cheese. I added mushrooms and it was excellent. I loved the pine nuts. it was a great addition to the eggs and spinach. The onions on top came from my daughter who didn't care for them and added it to my plate.
I came here when in the area and craving a savory breakfast. Thankfully, they have an array of options with a vegan menu composed of everything from breakfast burritos to waffles and pancakes. When I stepped inside, I was greeted right away by the very friendly staff. I was seated right by the window where I was able to people watch. I was so happy they it was nice and cool inside, as it was sweltering hot outside! They were very fast when taking my order. I ordered the vegan famous breakfast burrito with the plant based Mexican chipotle sausage. It was just as delicious as the menu described it to be. The burrito was fully loaded with tofu eggs, which were crumbly and salted, some buttery avocado slices, crispy tater tots that were fried to perfection, and delectable and melty vegan cheese. The Mexican chipotle sausage worked so well in the burrito, adding a nice savory and meaty flavor while also adding some heat to the dish. I felt so great after eating it and it was very filling. The ambiance here was lovely and it was fun, upbeat and cheery. The seating was so comfortable and I felt relaxed and at ease while dining here. I loved the promptness and attention to detail. I didn't end up getting coffee, as I already drank 2 cups before coming here and it was barely noon. But the smell of espresso had me drooling and making me wish I could stomach a third cup! But it gives me a reason to return! Along with so many other enticing vegan dishes! Parking was super easy as I found a spot on the street right in front of the restaurant. But they also have a parking lot behind the restaurant with plenty of parking!
We came to have brunch on a Saturday afternoon and thank goodness they have this waitlist available. Put our name down close to 11am and it was it was 30-45 min wait. So we were able to kill time until then! Located next to Honey & Lavender, parking lot available in the back, not that small! Once seated, we got to order the California Benedicts and the Country Fried Steak. It actually didn't take too long for our order to arrive, which we were surprised they are very quick and efficient with service! Although, the food was very underwhelming. California Benedict was pretty basic, or just the bare minimum actually. It was okay, ingredients don't really stand out. My bf's country fried steak, he was disappointed that the steak didn't even look fried. He wasn't really a fan of his order lol. I thought the potatoes were pretty decent, although I wish they were cut smaller into like breakfast potatoes. They were so chunky, but also wish they could be fried more. Overall, I feel like we chose the wrong items from this place lol, but these were the items highlighted on the Yelp page? Maybe it didn't help that we were seated next to the kitchen or a cart full of dirty dishes bc I just kept smelling that as we were eating.
First time trying Millie's. Was yummy. Wait times are definitely lengthy, so I'd recommend joining the online waitlist in advance. Lattes were tasty and the designs were really pretty. Friendly and fast service. A bit uncomfortable if you choose to sit outside, because there are a lot of guests standing and waiting to be seated, right next to the tables. Inside seating is a bit tight, due to the large crowds. There are an assortment of gluten free menu items to choose from as well, which is great. Overall, the food was good and it was a nice dining experience.
Highly recommend putting your name on the list as the wait time can be high, but it does go by fast. Kudos to the staff for all working together to really serve the customers. I was very impressed with the overall customer service. Now it makes sense why they have been in business for 100 years. The true test was trying out some basic dishes to see how good the food is. Pancake, 1/2 order of French toast, and of course a half an order of biscuits and gravy topped with scrambled eggs. The pancake was soft and fluffy. It was so good I really wanted to fold it up to eat as a taco, but I didn't want to be judged. It was so good that it left me wanting to risk all my manners. The French toast was excellent. Each bite was consistently delicious, well made and great flavor. The half order of biscuits and gravy paired with scrambled eggs is excellent. The biscuits were delicious, the gravy had a great rosemary taste, and the gravy is a bit on the thinner side. Personally it wasn't a deal breaker for me. It was still delicious. What would have made my simple meal perfect was coffee with creamer. They only serve half and half. Not a deal breaker but I prefer creamer giving it a true diner feel to it. Still giving 5 stars because the service and food was perfect. Thank you again! Definitely will be back!
8/3/26 Decent service, good food, mom n pop type of feel & ambiance in the heart of Pasadena. Indoor & outdoor seating available, dine-in & to-gos. Parking, street, free. Had this bookmarked & noticed that a few Yelp Friends have left their reviews on here. It looks like that hometown feel type of shop but the experience today was NOT that. Service was polite but not quite that welcoming that you would feel at a mom n pops shop. It's too bad coz if it were, we would frequent this diner/cafe. Most places that we're regulars at, we feel valued as patrons and are welcomed like family. I find less and less places have this kind of atmosphere. We ordered breakfast staples; Hubby ordered a machaca combo with flour tortillas & black beans, I opted for the (2 large!) banana walnut pancakes combo with chicken apple sausage, potatoes & over medium eggs. Our food arrived timely, hot and good presentation. Hubby said the machaca was decent because having had his fair share of machaca, these passed. My pancakes were huge! Flavor was good, as the banana slices & walnuts were cooked in, not just placed on top like most places. Macadamias would've been a better pairing though. The chicken apple sausage was flavorful & eggs were cooked as requested. Noise level was somewhat loud with all the clanging as tables were cleaned/bussed around us. Overall a decent experience for our first time visit, as mentioned, if the service was more thoughtful & welcoming, it would've made the difference from a 3 star to perhaps a 4 or a 5 star. Food for thought.
This is our first time visiting. Customer service is good, very busy place. Order to meal to table was astonishingly quick, very surprising and happy about that. Ambiance is very cozy kitchen, they have a great latte menu!! Highly recommend
Went on a very grueling hike, so we came to Millie's Cafe for a well-earned reward of a meal! My mind had been thinking of a breakfast burrito for hours, so naturally I ended up order the Famous Breakfast Burrito with my choice of meat beating Sausage Link. The burrito was really well-constructed. Very well balanced between the eggs and crispy tater tots! Was also a bit bemused that they didn't have hash browns on the weekend, but ordered some tasty Rosemary Potatoes instead. Staff here were great. Really nice to us even though the restaurant was about to wrap up for the day. Definitely worth the visit, need to check out some of the other menu items.
I was afraid there was going to be a long wait, but I went on a Friday morning & there was no line!! I loved the lemon ricotta pancakes!!! I'd probably return again to try other things on their menu! All of the employees were so kind as well! FEATURED Lemon Ricotta Pancake Breakfast Combo ($24) Huevos a la Mexicana ($20) Chilaquiles ($19) -- Plus added $7 for Machaca Beef even though the menu said it would be $4
Revisited with my wife for another brunch occasion and we might be more impressed this time than our previous visit. It was packed as usual and we got on the Yelp waitlist about 15 minutes before arrival which is always recommended. After being seated, we placed our order quickly and our food came out more quickly than our previous visit which is a great sign to see especially since they're busy all the time. This time around, I got the California Omelet and my wife got the Maynard Scramble. Both were absolutely phenomenal, potatoes are perfectly cooked and eggs were perfect as well. Both dishes aren't too filling as well which is great. Portions that they hand out are always big so prepare for a big FEAST. Absolutely love coming to Millies, can't wait for the next visit to try other menu items.

This place is such a treat to go to. Despite being busy they seated us right away, took our orders gave us our food exactly the way we wanted it and we were out of there in no time! I got the California eggs Benedict with 4 eggs and potato's! Soooo good and I tried a lemon ricotta pancake also extremely yummy. The bathrooms are nice seating inside and all around the outside. Servers are very fast, polite, and diligent with their customers! I wish more places could be like this everywhere!
Parking: Millie's Cafe is located on the corner of Hill and Washington. There is usually street parking on Hill. Exterior: There are tables set up on the sidewalk for outdoor dining. Interior: The interior was pretty crowded. The tables were very close together so it was also very noisy as people try to talk over each other. Service: It usually takes me about 30-45 minutes to get seated. The waitlist is pretty long and you can sign up ahead on Yelp. Food: The food is pretty good. I have tried several omeletes. The Denver omelet is probably my favorite. They are loaded with ingredients and the egg is usually cooked perfectly unlike some places where it just ends up dry or burnt. Their pancakes are also great. They are made to order and extremely fluffy. I will definitely be back for more.

The iced date cardamom latte was recommended by our waiter and it was such an interesting flavor with the sugar free date syrup, i loved it!! Using the yelp waitlist cut our actual wait time here at Millie's down to only 5 minutes for such a busy place, and we had efficient and helpful service! We loved the california benedict; the denver omelet scramble and the breakfast burrito were both tasty; the burrito was very healthy with veggies and black beans, so less of a "hangover burrito" we were hoping for, but very large portion which was nice. I wished they had hash browns on the weekends, the bfast potatoes were good but red potatoes aren't my preference so hash browns would have been nice as an option. The biscuit with gravy didn't have a ton of flavor. Super kind staff and a good place for fast boujie brunch with fun flavors!! read more

Was searching for a yummy, pleasant brunch spot in the mid-afternoon on MLK Day and found Millie's. It absolutely delivered!!! We arrived late in the 1pm hour and were sat immediately. The inside was still bustling, the outside tables were starting to be put away. Our waitress was very kind and attentive! We ordered the chilaquiles benedict, which was the main thing that caught my eye when I initially looked this place up--I loooove an eggs benedict, and my partner is gluten free. This gluten free creation was fantastic!! I would come back just for this dish. He added mixed veggies to it, which I initially thought might be weird but was soon corrected. The hollandaise and salsa verde come together in a unique and tasty way. I got the corned beef benedict, add avocado--was hoping for a crab cake benedict but was informed they recently took it off the menu. That very quickly stopped mattering, though, because the corned beef benedict was BOMB. Perfect yolk pop, crispy corned beef, creamy avocado and delicious potatoes. The only thing I would've wanted was a tiny bit more hollandaise, but I could also just be a fiend. We also tried a gluten free chocolate chip pancake, which was good. Nothing special, nothing bad. Pretty decent. Likely wouldn't get it again. For drinks, we got a lavender matcha lemonade (super bomb, delicious matcha and not too floral!) and a decaf cappuccino (a little disappointing, kind of bitter and sour.) All in all, quite a pleasant dining experience. They even have their own parking lot. I'd absolutely come back again for that chilaquiles benedict, but if the line were too long (as I know it can get) I might look elsewhere. read more

over all the food was ok. I was disappointed to see à hair in my food. It was a short hair and I have long hair so I know it wasn't mine. I got chilaquiles but the sauce tasted like it was canned. Also got pancakes, sausage and eggs with "fresh fruit". The fruit was not fresh. Maybe it was bad luck? the atmosphere is nice and restrooms are clean. The service was nice. read more

Loved that there was a vegan menu. Got the V- SPANISH OMELET with fruit and potatoes as sides. Normally it's choose fruit OR potatoes, and comes with toast, but I modified and asked for no toast. Meal was yummy. Also ordered a blueberry matcha latte and it was pretty bad and cost $10. They wouldn't give a refund on the drink but they added more blueberry syrup and it still tasted weird but also too sweet. read more

Came here for a mid-week brunch date. There is a parking lot next to Lavender and Honey (coffee shop) where you can park. When we went, it wasn't an issue and found a spot right away, but if it an issue there is plenty of street parking if you don't mind walking a bit. We were seated right away. The day was nice so we opted to sit outside. They have giant red umbrellas that provide plenty of shade. It's not too loud despite it being on a main street. I honestly just really enjoyed being outside and watching all the people pass by. I wouldn't mind bringing a book and having a solo breakfast. They have plenty of breakfast/lunch options. They also have a whole separate menu for vegan options. Everything looked so good and prices were ok. We went for the chilaquiles benedict and we added gravy and biscuits with an over easy egg on top. I also ordered a pistachio latte. The chilaquiles were really tasty, I like the smokiness of the sauce they used. Portion was plentiful. The eggs benedict on top were perfect. I can definitely see why this is a favorite and I would definitely recommend. The biscuit and gravy was also really flavorful and creamy. The egg on top also gave it that extra umph for flavor and velvety texture. The rosemary in it really made it feel home-y and nostalgic. It tasted like Thanksgiving dinner. The latte was already really smooth. I asked for it half sweet and still found it to be sweet. It was also a good sized cup and I appreciated the little pieces of pistachio in it. Overall, everything was delicious. It was my first time here and I would return to order the same things again AND to also explore new things from the menu. Service was great as well. Had a really positive experience at Millie's this morning. I love that you can join the waitlist on Yelp, which makes it convenient to check in and know how long the wait is. Additionally, there is plenty of seating and the customer service was amazing. Everyone was very attentive to our needs and knowledgeable about the menu. I ended up ordering a pistachio Matcha latte and it was so delicious will be back for the drink alone . I also tried the chilaquiles omelette very unique, but I really loved it too. Chilaquiles were flavorful and crispy. There were so many people, but we were astonished at how quick our food came out and how good it was definitely coming back here to try different menu items . Quick service, fair prices, and extensive menu. Would recommend :) read more

Delicious food, try their lavender lemonade - it's not too sweet nor sour, it has a great balance. Their potatoes are well seasoned and portions are a great value. I have to rave about their waiters, they are all super friendly. I truly couldn't say who our actual waiter was because all service staff ensured we were well taken care of. The only reason I can't give the fifth star is due to parking. The server said we can park across the street by the pharmacy but since we're not locals we just parked up the hill in a residential area to be safe. Other than that, this is a must visit and we will be back! read more

We ordered the breakfast burrito and the "vegan" breakfast combo. Our food was delicious, but I think our server may have mistaken my order. I wasn't sure if my sausage was vegan or not, and I ended up eating a real one accidentally...mind I've been a vegetarian for about 10 years, and I'm still weighing heavy about this situation. We came the next day to reorder it again, and the sausage was completely different than our first time. If you're dining here please reiterate vegan option, and make sure your food is correct. I always hesitate to eat at restaurants that serve regular and vegan food, but the reviews here were quite positive for the most part. There's plenty of seating outside and inside. I would suggest booking a reservation to ensure you are seated right away. read more

I was very happy with everything while I was there with my family. We didn't wait long and they did offer us to sit outside but we were inside the restaurant and it was nice and clean. If you're looking for Millie's, it's that corner spot with outdoor seating and every table is occupied. And for good reason. I've passed by this place hundreds of times, but never bothered going in, regretfully. Decided to finally to pull the trigger for some late breakfast and it was absolutely worth it. Millie's closes down after lunch and doesn't open for dinner. But, the menu is huge, the servings are plentiful, and you'll probably have to skip dinner after your meal. It'll take a while to pick something if you're a first timer for sure. The beverage menu is just as large. Some things will sound familiar, but others will make you want to ask the waitstaff for some advice. I was hungry and settled on the following: - Devil's Mess - 8/10: Eggs scrambled in with Cajun turkey sausage and topped with some pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole. Comes with your choice of toast and potatoes. I really liked this dish. I'd describe it as a Mexican omelette with a little bit of Cajun flavor. My only complaint is that I wished they had crisped up the hash browns a little more. Tasted a tad undercooked. - Belgian waffle - 8/10: Thick, spongy and delicious, as a good Belgian waffle should be. - Golden Matcha Latte - 8/10: a nice blend of turmeric, ginger and 2 percent. Nice and foamy, with flavors that weren't too overpowering. This is a solidly crafted beverage that goes down quite easily. Bill was pricey as expected, but you're really paying for quality food. And don't let the line fool you; there's a lot of room inside and outside, so you won't be waiting too long. This, along with great food, a large menu, and helpful waitstaff will make me come back again for sure. read more

Was easy to find free street parking across the block. - Green Eye $7.50: Espresso, 2% Milk & Matcha. - SO didn't quite like. - Blueberry Oat Matcha Latte $8.50: Blueberry puree, blue spirulina, organic matcha and oat milk. - cool looking drink, but lacked in flavor - Chilaquiles Benedict $19.50 Barbacoa style beef, over a stack of ranchero sauced tortillas and melted cheese. Topped with two poached medium eggs, green chili salsa,... - bomb diggety and large portion. Would get again. - Chicken Chimichurri Sandwich $16.99 Grilled chicken breast with panela cheese, arugula, pickled onions, chimichurri sauce, and mayo; all on ciabatta bread. Food was great. I got the avocado toast, my kids got pancakes , sausage and eggs Benedict. The service was good, no complaints. But it was so busy, we got a very small table for a party of 3, We sat inside, but the place is not spacious so I understand. But is like your eating with different people right next to you. read more
This restaurant was alright. The service was probably the highlight of the entire trip. The food was good, but I felt it was just pretty basic breakfast/brunch food. The atmosphere of the restaurant was super busy, but they took care of us quickly. Overall, I'd try this place again, but it wasn't a stand out for me. read more

Our party of 4 came in on a busy Saturday afternoon (11pm - 11:30pm). We took advantage of Yelp's waitlist check-in that allows you to add yourself on the waitlist if you're in a 5 mile radius from the restaurant, which saved us a lot of time. There was a small parking lot down the block but expect to be parking on the streets around. Ambiance/Setting: * Outdoor + Indoor seating available. We were sat outdoors and I was shocked to see how many tables they were able to fit on the small sidewalk. It was especially close to the road and it was noisy outside, we didn't mind. * Indoor options proved to be the same setting, close tables that would accommodate parties of 2-6 people. They do accommodate for bigger parties + families, be prepared to take any seat setting available. Service * Service was quick and friendly! For the amount of people they have to attend to, it did not affect the quality we received for our time here. They were still able to refill our waters despite how busy it was. Food * Our party ordered multiple dishes all with their own pros and cons, the general idea here is that it the CLASSIC brunch place with decent quality foods. We believe this place is well known for their pancakes, french toast, and waffles and less on their meat options. * Chicken + Waffles: The chicken was especially dry and had a light soft breading. This was different from my usual experience w/ chicken + waffles, where the chicken had a crunchy outside. Waffles proved to be really tasty though! * Lox Benedict: The salmon was nice and thin and didn't take away from the focus of the well made egg Benedict that was served with it. It had a nice light texture and was not too strong to taste. Would recommend again! * Usual Combo w/ Chocolate Chip Waffles: Small serving of the potatoes, eggs, and sausage (which is my favorite part of the meal). The presentation of the waffles were amazing topped with powdered sugar. The waffles were firm and had a subtle sweet taste combined with the chocolate chip. We added the "real" maple syrup which also elevated the waffles more! *Drinks: The speciality lattes were not as ideal in quality, and ended up tasting like a normal latte. The lemonades + juices were a safe bet and we were not disappointed there. In all, this place is VERY busy because of how popular the food is, so PLEASE take advantage of joining the waitlist on your way to this place! I would be wary of the meals with any type of meat but I would give the Pork Belly Benedict a chance since it was sold out before we were even there! Definitely take advantage of their classic pancake, French toast, and waffle selections as well! read more

We put our names on the waitlist from Yelp, and when we got there, we're already being called to seat, which was nice. However, after we did, many servers passed us and didn't acknowledge us. Breakfast in Pasadena, California... Dining with Yelp friends is always fun! The environment, service, and food makes a get together so much more fun! Somehow, we ended up at Millie's Cafe which had a free parking lot around the building! We went early to avoid the crowd and get a table large enough for our group! Service was cheerful and efficient! We didn't feel rushed, even though a bunch of people were waiting to be seated. We hurried through our meal and exchanged gifts amongst ourselves! I had the "Better Than Mom's Oatmeal" because I wanted to eat healthy after having so many meals with different friends! My bowl was colorful, delicious, filling, and perfect! I'd return again! The names of menu items were amusing and clever! Note: We sure appreciated the convenient restroom! Driving in Los Angeles takes a while because of the distance and traffic! read more

Service here was honestly the highlight -- super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel welcoming. That being said, the food itself was just okay for me. I'd rate it about a 7 out of 10. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out as amazing either. Inside, the space feels pretty tight. The tables are very small and set close together, which makes it a little cramped if you're trying to relax or have a more comfortable meal. I think if you sit outside it's probably a much better experience, because indoors definitely feels a bit crowded. Even with those things, I wouldn't write this place off. The good service counts for a lot, and I'd be willing to come back and try it again -- maybe on the patio to see if the atmosphere feels different. Overall, not bad, but there's definitely room for improvement when it comes to food and comfort. read more

Our first time here, so I didn't know what to order. I ordered the slutty bun with rosemary potatoes, which sounded interesting to me. It was definitely delicious that had a touch of chipotle sauce. My daughter ordered strawberries pancake and thought it was okay. My husband ordered the monkey banana usual. He enjoyed his food. Everything was perfectly seasoned. read more

Millie's is the most perfect post-hike, weekend cafe I've ever been to! I absolutely adored eating here with my girlfriends and highly recommend stopping by for your next brunch date! For starters, their extensive drink menu was just wonderful! There were so many fun and different kinds of teas and lattes, surely to meet any taste you might have! I got a lavender latte which was perfectly balanced between floral and espresso, couldn't have asked for more. I ordered the Devil's Mess, which is a three egg scramble normally featuring cajun-spiced turkey sausage (I subbed with chorizo) and white cheddar cheese. For toppings, the plate comes with fresh salsa, guacamole & sour cream. The flavors were just so on point and complimented each other so well! All of us girlies enjoyed our meals and I will definitely be coming back! read more

Such a great brunch spot in Pasadena! We ordered the chilaquiles and country fried steak both were hearty, flavorful, and hit the spot. The chilaquiles had the perfect kick and texture, and the country fried steak was super crispy and comforting. The place has a cozy, casual vibe with friendly service that made us feel right at home. It does get busy, so expect a bit of a wait, but totally worth it. Can't wait to come back and try more! read more

What's better than a Sunday morning hike? Of course, a post-hike brunch! Apparently, all of Pasadena agrees because the line to just about every brunch spot in town was 45-60 minutes long at 10am on a Sunday, including at Millie's Cafe. I really appreciated that they use Yelp's check-in system, since it makes it easy to check our ETA and walk around other shops while waiting for our turn. The service is friendly even when they're extremely busy. Do note that they don't serve hash browns on weekends, which I found to be an interesting choice - maybe it's just because I'm a hash brown lover, but I found their house potatoes to be pretty underwhelming in comparison. The chocolate chip pancakes, however, really hit the spot, and the portion was more than fair even ordering just a "short" stack rather than a full order. My friend ordered the Chicken and Waffle benedict, and said that while the Chicken and Waffles were delicious, the flavor combo with the hollandaise sauce was a little too overwhelming. They'd rather just order Chicken and Waffles...or a benedict, rather than the two combined. All in all, would definitely come back - but maybe on a weekday! read more

No. It is managed by the same people that run Millie's in Silverlake. It's a husband and wife.

I'm almost positive they are open but an hour or so before you want to eat go on waitlist it's the best

You can put your name on their waitlist on Yelp. Very convenient.
Can I order take out?
Yes, you can order take out, but sometimes they get so busy on the weekends they might not accept take out orders for a bit. It slows the kitchen down & they usually have a long waitlist to get seated.
Is Millie's Cafe dog friendly? The dog is an emotional support animal & would be in a pet stroller
