We were out exploring the area when we stumbled across this charming little bakery run by a group of Amish girls. The moment you walk through the door, your senses go into overdrive. The smell of freshly baked pies, cookies, breads, and pastries fills the air, and I swear I started drooling before I even reached the display case. As I quickly learned, "walking in here with self-control is like bringing a snowball to Florida." It simply doesn't exist! Mine certainly didn't. I ended up leaving with two peach fry pies, a loaf of cheddar jalapeño bread, and a glazed donut. My wife chose one of their giant fresh-baked pretzels with cream cheese. It was served warm and was absolutely delicious. Then I dug into the glazed donut, and wow--light, fluffy, and it practically melted in my mouth. This was our first visit, but there's no doubt we'll be back. In fact, I can easily see us becoming regulars. A quick heads-up: they accept cash or checks, but no credit cards, so plan accordingly. Country Crust also has a cute little café area where they serve pizzas and sandwiches. From what I saw, those sandwiches were absolutely ginormous. I didn't order one this time, but trust me, the brisket on a pretzel bun and the Reuben both have my name written all over them for a future visit. If you're anywhere near Bainbridge and have a sweet tooth--or just appreciate great homemade baked goods--do yourself a favor and make the drive. Your taste buds will thank you, even if your diet won't. "Worth every calorie and every mile driven."

They have a small salad bar located in the restaurant but includes all of your favorite fresh ingredients. I had the chicken and noodles (I added the black pepper seen in the photo). There are some special dishes that take you back to grandma's house and her home-cooked chicken and dumplings and after the first bite, I was immediately transported back in time to grandmas kitchen and her signature chicken and dumplings. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the broth was rich and full of flavor. This was one of those dishes that after you take your first bite, you close your eyes and savor the moment. These are so good that your tongue will fly out of your mouth and whip both of your ears to be sure and get every delicious drop. There was a good selection of sides, and I decided on the crispy seasoned fries and the coleslaw. Both were very good. The fries were especially delicious. Coleslaw was good, but personally, I prefer a more miracle whip/ mayonnaise base than cream. It was good, but just didn't have the fullness of flavor that I prefer. My wife had the Bacon Smash Cheeseburger. The bacon was cooked nice and crispy and the two burger patties were very flavorful. She also had the crispy seasoned fries. For dessert, they have a wide selection of cakes and pies and she had the chess pie and she said it was very good. (I was too stuffed for pie). Each slice is a very generous serving! The breakfast items looked very good, but breakfast is served only until 11:00am. When you're in the area, be sure and stop in to this roadside treasure. You'll be glad that you did!

Very small diner but worth the stop. Our waitress was so friendly, the restaurant was very clean and the biscuits and gravy will bring us back time and time again. We ordered half orders of biscuits and gravy and the portions are huge. The sausage gravy is just a little spicy and perfect. Sausage links were also very good. We also ordered scrambled eggs which are cooked in the breakfast meat grease and pretty dry, which were not to our liking, but that's just a personal preference.
