And for the quality of food you get, I think this place is reasonably priced. The restaurant is not far from Old Street station and has a pub feel, but slightly more refined. The staff was really friendly, attentive and knowledgeable on the menu. I highly recommend a reservation though as even when we came here on a Monday night, it was busy. I don't think you can go wrong with almost anything on the menu. Everything we had was delicious, and you can tell the chef's really know how and understand how to cook and flavor meat to perfection. The most surprising item though, is the White Chocolate Cheesecake. It is served out of a dish, tiramisu style, and is one of the best desserts I have had in a while. It was not too rich but so flavorful. So when you come here, make sure to save room for dessert!

I don't typically like to go out to restaurants for steak as I feel like I can cook a pretty great one myself at home, but this place was highly recommended by my girlfriend's coworker. I'm very glad we came, because this was arguably the best steak dinner I have ever had in my life! We ordered the Steak Tartare, Liver, and 700g of the T-Bone steak to share. (This was way too much food for two people, but 700g is the minimum order for T-Bone). We ate so much meat today, I feel like I need to go vegetarian for a day just to balance my body out. Still, every single item was fantastic. The Liver with the roasted onion puree may have been the standout. It was incredibly tender and flavourful, and I don't normally even like to eat liver. The T-Bone steak was also amazing, buttery smooth such that I felt like I could have cut it with a spoon. Service was great as well, with the wait staff being incredibly attentive and kind. Will definitely be returning to Macellaio RC in the future!

I had the spinach and ricotta arancini and the small Asian salad with halloumi and I was stuffed from the meal! There are three arancini served and they are utterly delicious, gooey, hot and incredibly savoury. I had the salad with the dressing on the side and it was still incredibly fresh and satisfying, with crunchy veg and a good mix of veg. My husband and friends all raved on their respective steak and chicken dishes. Great chips as well: chunky and salty. I also had some of my husband's mushroom side and was pleased how moreish it was seasoned. Yum! The salted caramel ice cream for desert was fine but nothing to rave about: overpriced and I've had better. Very good service.

So my expectations were also reasonable when I went to Roxie's, and they were easily exceeded! The menu has a real South African influence with biltong and boerewors available as sides, or part of the meat platter to share, but we went with a single course of steak. I was stoked to see garlic prawns as a steak topper, and also ordered green beans and hand cut fries as side. The steak was perfect, cooked exactly as we asked and such a nice cut! My mouth had a small party. And best of all, the price was right. We've been to Hawksmoor (which is excellent) and paid over £100 for two. We ordered more food at Roxie's and the total came to under £60! Excellent steaks, excellent menu! Great service and a great price!

We were quickly shown a table; the place was pretty much empty apart from a group of noisy youths; probably friends or family of the waiters because they (the waiters) were milling around them - didn't see them pay either. The table was obviously not wiped; no problem there - just did it myself. Drinks? Yes please; a large bottle of sparkling water. No sparkling water? OK then, a large bottle of still water please? No large still water either? Bring 1 small still water them please and glasses with ice. Here he comes with 2 bottles of still water and 1, yes one ice cube in each glass. By now I'm bored so I look up to the ceiling. 18, yes eighteen light bulbs out. Oh, and that area where the old entrance was, just a big old hole and some loose wire hanging out. Part of the new decor? There also seem to be a toilet leak from the flat above; yellow salty looking stains in their way to form stalactites staring blatantly at me. Apart from the dirt on the table there's so many scratches and damage to the table tops. All you need is a bit of sandpaper and varnish mate. Have some pride in your place. Meal was OK. Just OK. Let's pay and get out of here; the CC machine is out of order. Typical. So I wonder if that's why the youths didn't pay. So now we have to go to the bank 2 blocks away to get cash but only if one of us stay here so that we 100% come back to pay. Apart from being disgustingly dirty, this place has no clue of how a restaurant should be run and the franchise should retract from the owner which is probably the same guy who owns filthy Mirch Masala across the road. Note to the owner; a new door does not polish a turd Habibi. In another note; Steakout fits perfectly into Norbury - a third world establishment which wormed its way into a world class city.

I mention this because we have some amazing steak restaurants in SoCal. The restaurant had several families dining, and had a nice level of background chatter. Our chef took the time to come speak with us, recommend cuts of beef and generally go over our options. This was a lovely surprise as this rarely happens. We started with "fall off the bone" ribs and the Hallumi - (squeaky cheese - wish I could find this here in SoCal... if anyone reading this knows a place... please let me know!) We ordered rib eye steaks, I had the filet... with sides of creamed spinach/truffle fries and Mac and cheese. Everything was cooked to our liking, and the chef came back out to check on us. We actually ended up going back again just because the food and service were great. Look forward to visiting again! (Oooh... if you go, ask for their salts.. I liked the Merlot infused one)

Well, clearly I didn't get the memo on Cabrera, this place was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious! I was a bit skeptic at first just based on the fact the waitress was an older lady and there was some confusion when we asked some questions regarding the menu, but I was wrong. My friend and I shared the steak selection (£48 for 2 people) which came with Sirloin, Fillet and Ribeye. 2 steaks of each per person. We then ordered 3 side dishes to share between us - dauphinois potato, triple cooked chips and a portion of asparagus. All of it was cooked to perfection. The knife went through the steak like butter, the chips were delicious and the potatoes so tasty and the asparagus was perfect. I was getting quite full, with 3 steaks to eat, but I didn't want the meal to end, it was so delicious. The portion of chips was huge! We couldn't finish them. The potatoes were just addictive, I would happily have eaten it all over again. The restaurant soon filled up and I was actually really surprised at how busy it got. I naively didn't think that people frequented these local restaurants too often, but the place was really busy and according to our waitress, that was a quiet night! If only I could afford to eat here all the time! With it being a steak restaurant the price is more expensive than say going out for an Italian meal, but it was most definitely worth it. I can't wait to tell all my friends and colleagues and encourage everyone to go. I can't wait to go back. Cabrera is definitely a local gem.
