I've been going to Millenium since 1978. My original Physician was Dr Aksman who has retired. Im now a patient of Dr Grand. These 2 doctors over the years have attended to my needs and I am extremely happy. This is not the problem The call Center is a big problem I go once a year for my annual check up. This year in attempting to schedule an appt no one seemed to answer the phone in a timely manner. I called 3 different time and was put on hold for 15 minutes each time. Finally I got in touch with DonnaShe was unable to schedule an appt in August anytime and was abrupt in her responses. To quote her she knows Dr Grands schedule like the back of her hand. I was almost ready to. Angel the appointment of 9/11 and go somewhere else. Horrible customer service almost as if she is doing me a favor. I went to the Bricktown office last Monday for something that is caught under my eyelid and making my nose run constantly they me my $50 co-pay which I had no problem paying a doctor came in looked at it with a bright light and said I'm gonna give you an antibiotic eyedrop I said I'm telling you there's something in there underneath my I today. They are closed the answering service answers. I said I wanna come back in and get seen but I don't pay a $50 co-pay again because I was misdiagnosed the first time I came in. He spent three minutes with told me he's gonna give me some said oh no you gotta pay $50 every time you come in I said well that is a real scam. I'm in the collision business so if you come back with your you have a problem with charge deductible again I think it's a horrible way to do business. Take a quick look at you give you some eye drops and build the insurance company. I would never recommend millennium to anybody. I wouldn't send my dog there. I am a senior citizen. I am 76 years old and I feel like I have been totally taken advantage of next letter is to the Better Business Bureau. read more

I went to the Freehold site yesterday for an appointment on January 27, 3026. The female receptionist was very rude and inconsiderate. First her demeanor was very rude. Then, she made me stand for about 15 minutes before she handed me the clipboard on her desk to complete the forms. She said I had to stand there are waiting while she was on her computer. After she failed at whatever she was doing a couple times, she handed me the clipboard. She had a very bad attitude and no apology. While waiting, I asked if I could sit. She muttered to me to wait. Mind you I am a 62 year old woman with arthritis in both knees. It was very unpleasant so I left. I would never go there again. read more

I was the first client to enter the facility, I previously checked in on-line. I was called into the Dr. exam room and met with a technician at 8:20, ten minutes later at 8:30 he said the Dr. would be with me shortly. After waiting in the room for 30 minutes I left. My appt. was for 8:30am. I am 70 years old, I really felt this amount of waiting was verging on abusive. They repeatedly cancel appointments. They will not schedule Doctor visits and visual field tests on the same day. Therefore, you have to make two trips for things that were done in one visit. Since the Freehold location is still closed we have to make two trips to East Windsor. We had to make two trips to Union for cataract surgery and several visits to East Windsor for pre op and post op visits. We felt badly because of the fire so we traveled the extra distance to support the practice during this difficult time. I am recovering from major surgery and it's difficult making two trips for Doctor visits and Visual Field tests. I've explained this to the staff and no accommodations were made for me especially after all the traveling we did to be supportive of the practice. We have been patients for years starting when it was Eye Physicians and Surgeons. Now we hear Dr. Lee is leaving. We are Doctor shopping and want to leave this hot mess of a practice. read more

I encountered some problem during check-in. It would be helpful if the front desk staff had clearer information about referral. For my initial visit, a referral wasn't mentioned, but during my follow-up, it was required. This caused me a 40-minute wait . Having clearer information about referral requirements upfront would be helpful for future patients. Front desk staff is awful, not friendly at all. Worst customer service !! It's been quite some time since I've had an eye exam and being that I've been to this place before and it's right around the corner from my house, I figured I'd try to get an appointment there. I tried calling for an appointment but every time I try, I'm put on a really long wait. After maybe 20 minutes, someone picks up and then immediately hangs up. This has happened to me 5 times. That's horrible customer service. Maybe you guys need to hire more front desk people to pick up the phone or retrain the front desk people. I really needed an eye appointment but it looks like I'll have to take my business elsewhere. read more

They overbilled for my routine visit. The doctor asked me at my check up if everything was generally okay, and I mentioned I had headaches, although I knew they weren't vision related. She didn't treat me for it and said my vision is fine. Next thing I know, they bill me for that appointment as if I came in for having headaches as an issue, instead of my insurance-covered routine check up. Thankfully I noticed the difference on my bill...I can imagine missing it and overpaying by mistake, which this place probably gets away with all the time. My insurance was good enough to fight the issue. Will be dropping this eye care place though, since apparently I can't tell them if anything is wrong at a normal check up unless I want to pay for it. read more

I have been having issue's with Millennium Eye Care in EAST WINDSOR since the day I can remember. The staff is insanely rude, and as a whole are extremely unorganized. I once drove from college (Philadelphia) all the way to East Windsor for them just to tell me that my appointment was cancelled, FOR NO REASON. The only "good" thing that they have going there is their doctor's (which I feel extremely bad for) but there is no "I" in team; I suggest they move. I will be switching eyes doctors after I recieve my contacts, odds they actually get here on time? I'll keep you guys posted. read more

My wife and I went to Millenium for long overdue eye exams to get new glasses on July 29th. Due to Covid-19, appointments had to be made to reduce contact and have the least amount of people in the store as possible at one time.That was a good thing, and everything went well with the exams - but then they made us come back the next day on July 30th to pick and get fitted for glasses! That made no sense at all. It was unnecessary and inconvenient. Since they made us make an appointment, it should've been done all at once to reduce the chance of exposure for us and the employees, right? OK, so we came back on the 30th and picked and ordered our glasses. We have NOT HEARD FROM THEM FOR THREE WEEKS. WTH? I called them this afternoon and left a message saying we haven't heard from them - "are our glasses ready yet? It's been 3 weeks." Wow - you'd think that somebody at MILLENNIUM EYE CARE would jump up and say "Hey, these customers are still waiting on their glasses after three weeks! Who dropped the ball? Somebody call them and tell them their glasses are ready, come on in and pick them up!" *Millennium did not bother to call me back.* read more

I have never written a bad review but I am so frustrated right now with the service I am receiving and other people should know about it. I have called the Freehold office for over a week trying to reach someone about ordering my new contacts. No one answers the phone and when someone does answer the phone there is an extremely long wait time (1 hr +). I have called multiple days in a row. This is extremely bad customer service. I work in the customer service industry and I have a lot of patience because I know what it is like to deal with "Karens." However, this service is absolutely horrible. Going once a year I forgot how difficult this place is to deal with. With the commotion of the holidays and chasing after my 14 month old I forgot about making my appointment. Today I realized I was running low on contacts - ordered them only for it to be cancelled because my prescription expired earlier in the month. I tried calling to speak with someone intelligent to explain the situation and also add my family has been exposed to Covid so I won't be making it in any time soon - can my doctor please just write a prescription for at least a month to cover me with contacts until I can make an appointment. Well the receptionist was anything but helpful and told me my doctor is out of the office for awhile and that no one could get involved. She also mentioned they wouldn't even be able to see me until end of January - how does she expect me to see if I have to wait that long? Talk about a lack of customer service especially during these crazy times in the world where we all need to have a little extra grace and flexibility. Oakley frames are priced 18% more than other retailers (pearlevision, Lens crafters) and Oakley.com, in my case it was $46 more. I didn't realize at the time of order​ when I​​ asked the lady during pick up. She said they are not approved by your insurance (VSP) which is why the price is low. Basically​,​ she is telling me that we take your insurance and we jack up the price. Pearlevision takes VSP and I​ could have saved 46 dollars if I​ had gone to them and they have the same frame. read more

I normally hesitate when providing negative feedback. However, this afternoon's experience at the office left me very disappointed with the service provided at this particular location. I was there for an annual checkup appointment and to be honest about 13 minutes late. The assistant who opened the door informed me that their policy was to cancel anyone who arrived more than 15 mins late. Though I did not know this rule....I am ok with it I guess. Rules are rules. However, the attitude and the general rudeness with which this person addressed me was very unprofessional and should not be acceptable at any establishment. My entire family has been associated with Millennium Eye Care for more than 10 years and it pains me to be at a receiving end of such a bad experience. read more

I had a concern/problem with the way a recent eye examination appointment was billed to my insurance and, unfortunately, no one in the billing department was able to help me. I asked to speak with the practice administrator in hopes of resolving this issue, She had someone is the billing department call me back to let me know she refused to speak to me. Any practice/business is only as good as their customer service, and honestly, I am still shocked. Based on this very negative experience, I can not recommend Millennium Eye Care to anyone. read more

Then they sent me a bill home that said insurance did not cover it and balance was my responsibility. This eyecare business has several locations and I had been a customer for over 15 years, but over the years their customer service has eroded inversely to their growth. Seems now they are too big for you. For example, a few times I visited their Hightstown, NJ location I never felt like a valued customer. Not even an acknowledgement that I stepped in the store or they were too busy completing personal conversations, calls or tasks while I stand there waiting for eye contact. Finally I got eye contact and she says "Yes?" [Oh sorry for bothering you - me thinking in my head] I would like to replace my lenses. "You got insurance?" Yes. "We don' take no insurance other than VSP". Well I've gotten glasses last year with the same insurance. "Like I said we don't take nothin but VSP". Well are you sure? I've been buying glasses from you the past 15 years, can you check your records? "The computer's down, can't check". How convenient the computer's down when you don't even feel like checking whether my insurance is accepted in your establishment.The attitude has become "We are doing just fine without your business'. Ok that's fine I will take my business elsewhere. Had this been a one time nasty interaction I would have let it slide, but it has become the standard the past several years. I read these poor reviews but have been to them in the past with no problem so I called the East Windsor office for an appointment for myself and my child. In the process of attempting to make the appointment, the woman on the phone cut me off a few times and I found it difficult to complete my answers to her. She also had an attitude as if I was annoying her. I told her my 2 forms of insurance and she wanted more details. I read the information off the card to her and she said "I guess we'll just guess what kind of plan you have" with a condescending tone. I responded "I read your poor reviews and was willing to give you a shot anyway but you know what, the reviews were right" and I hung up. Worst treatment I have ever received from a clinic. I had scheduled the appointment early, I arrived on time, I had insurance. When I arrived, the receptionist whispered something to another lady nearby and the other lady looked at me as if I did something wrong. The reception was annoyed and frustrated at me for some reason. I handed over my ID and insurance card when asked by the receptionist. She literally just literally threw the cards on her desk. However, the doctor was kind and treated me well. This happened last year, and to this date I still don't know what I did wrong for that mistreatment by the folks at the reception. The worst customer service of any medical provider I have seen. Staff is outrageously ill suited to meeting the needs of patients. I arrived at my last visit to be given an electronic record -keeping device into which the staff demanded I enter a lengthy list of patient information. (After 5 minutes of data entry I was advised that I had completed only 1% of the questionnaire.) This was not my first visit, and I have had two family members treated there. They already had my insurance card, but insisted that I enter the data due to the need for them to transfer their records from paper to electronic media. When I suggested that that was the job of the staff, rather than the patient, the manager informed me that I must do it. I cancelled the appointment and called the practice manager , who hung up on me, after which I requested a call back from the physician, whom I had previously seen , and who was professional and seemed fine. I never received a call back. This office was also poorly viewed by a friend who also had the misfortune of being treated there. It's not the professional staff with whom I encountered the rudeness , it's the front desk and people who answer the phone . There is a marked lack of respect for the time of patients and a disregard for the need to punctually proceed when the patient arrives. I stood at the desk , staffed by 4 people , without a greeting until I asked to be acknowledged, after which two of the four continued in a private conversation while I was asked to perform what I believe is the office staff's job. I feel responsibility for this rests with the physicians who are engaged in practice there. If this is a corporate policy over which they have no control, as it appears, I recommend they find another place to work. read more
