I recently needed a pair of reading glasses because I was having trouble reading the small font on my phone. Finding a place that accepted Medicaid (HealthFirst) and still offered decent service, especially with stylish frame options, was a risky endeavor. Through Google reviews, I discovered Millenia Vision Optical. I appreciated learning it's a family-owned and operated business with a strong community involvement. However, my primary concern was getting a thorough eye exam, vision check, and, of course, a pair of attractive reading glasses (even though I wasn't thrilled about needing them in my 40s). Making an appointment on their website was a breeze. From the moment I received their appointment confirmation call, I could understand why they had so many 5-star reviews on Google. The staff was incredibly cordial and helpful! On March 28th, 2024, I checked in to see Dr. Nadezhda Belous (O.D.). While waiting, I inquired about the frame selection. Knowing I wouldn't choose the Medicaid-covered options, Ashly presented a fantastic array of frames I loved! They had a wide variety of fashionable and stunning frames (and sunglasses) from brands like Cartier, Ray-Ban, Prada, Gucci, Tom Ford, and more. I narrowed down my choices to a few just before being called in to see Dr. Belous. Dr. Belous was thorough in her exams. She explained my eye health, provided expert advice on managing my presbyopia, and patiently answered all my questions without rushing me. I felt confident and well-informed when I returned to the frame counter with my prescription. Now for the fun part (although ideally, I hope I won't need glasses at all after my PRK surgery, but such is life!). While I struggled with which frame to settle on, Ashley enlisted the help of Kelly, Maria, and Ayleen. I felt like I was surrounded by my BFFs and sisters, who were helping me pick out a husband. Their valuable feedback ultimately led me to a pair of Tom Fords that I absolutely adore! They even offered a no-interest installment plan to accommodate my needs. My glasses were ready for pickup exactly two weeks later, on April 11th, 2024. My reading glasses are a lifesaver! They minimize eye strain, especially with the blue light filter add-on, and they look fantastic on my face, not at all like a typical "assisted device." I'm incredibly grateful to the entire staff at Millenia Vision Optical for creating such a welcoming and positive experience. As long as I'm in NYC, I will definitely be back! read more

I had this company to transfer lens to my purchased framed , I gave him my purchased framed along with prepaid eye exam. and $225.00 to have the lens transfer to my frame , he never called to say it was ready, after several weeks , then and only then, when I went to ask, then he cut and framed the glasses , in the meantime , i had already paid of MY CHARGE CARD?? I went back two weeks later to request as to why my glasses FOG up when I am in a building , THEY FOG UP" the proprietor says that I was complaining and had an attitude , what is that? The price of the exam was so affordable, I was able to pay out of pocket. Nathan is about his business. He is a passionate, fair, expert salesman. This is hands down one of the best Optical -actually the best optical store I've visited. I'm a NY'er and these Opticals out here have been dropping the ball left and right. When I first walked in I thought I was gonna have the same average experience due to the fact there was a pharmacy in the same space. To my surprise, I met a real life eye glass whisperer slash genius named Nathan. Between him and Tiffany my boyfriend and I had the best experience trying on glasses. Not to mention Ayleen, who cheered us on and told us how fly we looked every time we tried on something that looked nice. The doctor Was super sweet and professional. She did a great job informing me about my eyes current state of health, and she did it w graciousness, patience, and a kind demeanor -even though we were the last patients that she was so kind to squeeze in at the last minute after a long day. There were other staff that I didn't interact with for long, but I can say they were all smiles! Also the price is RIGHT ! I paid $320 for glasses I'd normally be ripped off for like $600. They take most insurances and they go out their way to get you the lowest discounts with or without insurance. They also got a dope eyeglass collection with brands that no other opticals carry. I was blown away and we went home feeling happy. I can recall many days at the optical where I left frustrated and angry. But not this one! I want to commend Nathan for hiring such an amazing team.
