Brought in in for repair at the end of the day with hopes of being able to ski the next day at Breck. They quickly swapped out some parts on my bindings and returned my skis to me in 10 minutes -- at no charge!! I was able to ski at Breck the next two days with zero problems. We did buy some additional equipment for my son (expert skier) and found Alpine to be a good value.

As many of the reviewers said, He's just an amazing, positive person who's clearly passionate about making your ski experience the best it can be. I enjoyed meeting him and he did an excellent job on edging and waxing a pair of really beat up skis. They look new! He saved my Chili ski vacation, hands down. Tim was by far the most knowledgeable and the most helpful in every way. We will be back for boots this winter.

Not only is he an extraordinary boot fitter, but he's also just an amazing, positive person who's clearly passionate about making your ski experience the best it can be. He encouraged me to visit several other shops to try on boots they didn't carry, and after going to multiple places, it was obvious--Tim was by far the most knowledgeable and the most helpful. I originally came in with seasonal rentals, and he didn't even care whether I bought boots from him--he just wanted me in the right ones. He even called around to other local shops to find the exact pair I wanted and sent me there, knowing he'd lose the sale. That kind of integrity and dedication is rare. Tim made a customer for life. I can't wait to work with him again when I'm ready to buy skis. Highly, highly recommend!

Walked in without a reservation and they happily took care of demo skis for myself & skis + boots + helmet for my fiancé. They even took the time to make sure that the helmet for my fiancé was the right fit (turns out that they were right, in spite of her asking for a larger size ;) Rental staff were knowledgeable and felt they knew just what to do on the bindings settings. Mainly came here due to the aggressive rental pricing, but the knowledgeable staff and convenient location (3 minutes from the gondola) made it an easy choice. Would happily rent from again.

Very affordable backcountry ski rentals and they even let me apply my rental money towards a boot/binding purchase. I've never had better fitting boots (definitely go with the DFP footbeds) and they helped pick the right binding for ME without the "tough guy attitude" you can find at other shops. Also, my wife broke her ancient AT binding earlier this season. Not only did they have the exact part she needed, but they were able to repair it right on the spot!

When we walked in, our sales associate Michael was friendly, prompt to greet us, and genuinely interested in helping. He took the time to listen to what I was looking for and never made me feel rushed or silly about my beginner questions, even though it was close to closing time. Since it was my first time mountain biking, he walked me through the differences between a full-suspension bike and a hardtail, let me try both, and helped me find the best fit. I ended up on a small women's hardtail, which fit me perfectly from their selection and was a much more beginner-friendly option. It was obvious that Michael wasn't just trying to rent me a bike--he was invested in making sure I had the right bike so my first mountain biking experience would be a great one. That level of customer service really stood out. Thank you, Michael! We're locals, and this experience definitely earned our future business. We rode that day with a family member visiting from Oregon who is an avid mountain biker. She had rented a bike in Vail, and after comparing both the bikes and the prices, she said she wished she had rented from Pioneer Sports instead. 10/10 service and experience. If you're looking for a quality rental at a great price from people who genuinely care about getting you on the right bike, I highly recommend Pioneer Sports. I'll definitely be back!

On my ski trip to Breckenridge, decided to rent equipment from Pioneer Sports in Frisco because of…read morethe reasonable rental rates. I made my reservation online and paid for the equipment in advance. They have a variety of equipment options, I chose the performance ski package, but wasn't quite sure of the difference between packages other than price. The store was located in a strip mall and upon entering looked like a typical sporting goods store. When you make your way to the back of the store they have all the ski equipment. I was asked if I had a reservation which I provided my email. First, you walk up the steps on a platform where an employee measured my foot to determine ski boot size. When I tried the ski boots on, they were small so they gave me a larger size for comfort. Next step is to wait in line to pick up your skis and poles. The employee at the counter calls you in the order of boot measurement. This process was a bit time consuming and took approx an hour before it was my turn. They input information into a system and ask you some questions about how you ski, fast, experienced, beginner, etc and help you pick out the correct ski brand and length. My boots were very dirty and well used, but they did the job. The employee makes some adjustment to the skis to make sure your boots fit. The XX skis that I received performed well and I did not have any issues. Check in if the equipment was much more efficient and they just scanned a barcode on the equipment when we returned it and we left it in a pile and were good to go. Overall, I think you get what you pay for and this store offers functional ski equipment at a reasonable price. I do wish the process of getting the equipment had been a bit more efficient. The employees were very friendly and helped to make this equipment rental experience go smoothly.
