Thankfully, I stumbled across Performance Sports, and one of their awesome staffers, Bullitt who hooked me up with a nice deal on some great gear! This may seem small to some, but all their benches lift up for storage, which is a HUGE plus in my book. Now I don't have to stop at a locker to drop off my regular sneakers/boots...I can just leave my kicks right there in the rental shop. When I returned later that day, swapping skis for shoes was an easy process... I was walking out the door and off to some après ski pubs in no time!

Both times the employees were condescending to my questions and curiosity about their products. I dealt with Alex - who was very cold and uninterested. I had to engage him and drive the whole convo as wasn't greeting anyone. And also dealt with a heavier set gentleman with glasses (wearing a polo shirt).. who was condescending and gave a know it all vibe. I asked him to try on a pair of boots, and he basically said no, and shut down the conversation. I took my business elsewhere and spent $2200 (including the same boots I wanted - and for $100 less). I would recommend either shopping with Ski Mountain All-Stars (Avon) or Vail Sports (next door) - both super friendly and actually have better prices for same items.

Although my experience in the store conveying the issue to the manager could have been better, it was eventually escalated to Gorsuch's Director of Operations and then to Renie Gorsuch, who co-founded the store with her late husband, Dave. The Director of Operations was very accommodating and helpful, showed sincere concern about my experience , and wanted to be as cooperative as possible in terms of sharing my experience with the vendor (manufacturer of the candle) to further investigate the candle's design and materials. I received a beautiful wooden and pewter serving piece as a goodwill gesture, which was much appreciated and as a sign of encouragement, that Gorsuch is trying hard to retain customers, instill a culture of friendliness among the store staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, and meeting the challenges of a labor shortage. For the summer months, visitors can rent a bike for any terrain. I wanted to see what the hype was about, so decided to try an e-bike. The bike was a very clean, class one e-bike suitable for biking/walking paths. The Bosch e-bike system was easy to use and allowed for quick change riding mode (manual, sport, turbo, etc) and being able to switch on the fly was a huge advantage when it came to riding the steep hills (going up both ways.....lol). The rental process is quick (especially since Epic Mountain has my profile) and the staff was really helpful, giving me a quick rundown on how to operate the bike. Rental rates are by half day (4 hours) or full day. Take note that folks can save 20% when reserving online versus in-store. The pricing is a little more expensive than if I had rented an e-bike thru our hotel, but Vail Sports has better maintained equipment. Rental prices do include a helmet and each bike has its own handlebar bag. I was able to ride thru the town, in the residential area and up/down Gore Creek Trail. The latter is a safe option when going between East and West Vail and does provide beautiful scenery. Upon returning the bike, the staff was also very friendly in answering my questions, helping me to decide whether or not I am going to invest in a purchase. I must say the pedal assist on some hills was a fantastic bonus to my ride. This was a great "touring" experience while visiting Vail and with the friendly and very knowledgeable staff, I would definitely recommend Vail Sports for all season equipment rental!
