I think it would help you if you watch YouTube videos at Caltrain website to give you more details of the dos and don'ts. Of course I didn't, so there are rules that I learned during my ride. For example, make sure to get a yellow tag for your bike and mark your destination. For example, "San Mateo to Mountain View." This will help other riders placed their bikes with the same destination next to yours. Also, look for train cars with a bike icon, and know ahead which train # stops at your final destination. Overall, my experience was fantastic. Customer service on the phone and email was also excellent. Cheers!

While visiting SanFran the traffic can be terrible, and parking is hard to come by, when in areas but many stations are conveniently located near major streets and popular attractions. There are 3 major lines to transverse between NorCal area - yellow, red and blue. The BART is clean and most people respect and follows the rules of "no eating or drinking". I also like now each exits are cornered off in plexiglass....previously it was wide opened so you see a couple local people (mostly teenagers or young adults ) jumping over the turnstiles to avid paying the fares.

So while this station may be fantastic on the times it runs, the fact that it exists and that the bus route drivers aren't aware that it doesn't run most of the time can cause trouble when it's late at night and you are now lost in Burlingame because the driver didn't know to drop you off at a working Caltrain station. I guess they changed the schedule first thing Monday, March the 2nd, the day I needed to start taking it. They have a 40 minute break period in between shuttle routes between 7:40am and 8:21am. No one wants to go to work then do they? Geez!! Caltrain!! I had to stop taking it months ago and now rely on the shuttle to get to BART. Fortunately, there is only that one break and the shuttle runs pretty regularly every other 15 mins intervals and the man who drives the bus is so kind and explains everything to you. Today he handed me a schedule and asked me to leave him a good review which I'm doing because people complain like it's his fault his supervisors mess with the schedule. Reliable, efficient, CLEAN, take it.
